Sure £64m is a lot for a player turning 27 this season, but the going rate for potential is £30m these days (see Shaw & Mangala), so a genuine talent is going to be in that bracket. United couldn't really win with this one in terms of spending, damned if they do and damned if they don't. He's a top talent and a great signing for any side, you just have to hope it's not a case of blowing the whole budget on Di Maria when your squad is in need of investment elsewhere, quickly.
