I think United are big enough to take time to rebuild the right way. It looks like you're following to blueprint of City and Chelsea with the $. Your name is big enough to draw great players without a title or CL football for a bit. Always has been that way. Have faith in your teams history and size to draw players at the price you want pay. I don't think(giant money signings) is the right path.
You are making it sound spending money isn't rebuilding the right way and taking years to develop a team is?

So some ppl saying madrid asking for 75m GBP, while others saying fee already agreed at 64m. So which is it??

I think if you include the add ons it's 75m, but we aren't going to win 2 CL and the prem within the next few years so I would forget that.

Just to clear this up, because some of you clearly don't understand instagram. These are just pictures her account has been tagged. It is none of here doing. I could post a selfie of myself, tag her in it and it would pop up in that section. I just checked and she's liked a couple of the 'Thank You' pictures from Madrid fans but she hasn't liked or put up most of those pictures.

Fee is 63.9m GBP - Don't believe any fee reported in Spainish papers especially concerning Madrid and Barca. I personally don't give a hoot how much we are signing him for, would you rather have the money spent on players or servicing Glazer's debt? No brainer. He's world class and United with the money they make should be signing one of those EVERY summer.

Am I the only one around here who's thinking that United is pammsively overpaying for this guy? I mean, feckin' 80 million €? That's 30 more than Özil, who was 2 years younger at the time and the much bigger star in terms of merchandise value. Real even WANT to ship this guy out.
Well, the times of letting go Robben for 25 million € are probably over. :D

Juan Mata and Marouane Fellaini = £64.1m vs Angel Di Maria £63.9m

Which deal would you take?

Simply just compare this,

Mata replaced Kagawa/Rooney in number 10

Di Maria replaced Young/Valencia on the wings.

Which do you think is more crucial.

I think everyone knows we're overpaying. Some just care more than others. I care a bit but I'm still glad he's coming.

That's simply not true and I'm not sure why people keep claiming it.

Don't really care about the price. We tend to pay more than other teams because of our club financial background.

I would say it's true considering the media campaign going on against Di María and the fact that he has no place on the pitch right now.

You just have to wait for either Bale/Ronaldo/James to get injured and you will understand Real missed him badly.

Di Maria is a superior player to Mata in my opinion, much more explosive. Di Maria with the ball at his feet will frighten opposition defenses. Van Gaal has never really played with a pure 10 so it will be interesting to see what develops in the coming months.

I think it is unfair to compare. Fellaini basically negates everything.

Juan Mata and Ander Herrera = £65M vs Angel di Maria £63.9M looks more comparable.

The way football is now, it seems to be the only path

I would much prefer if they didnt have to splash this kind of cash. I still dont feel right at all over this transfer. In fact it is bothering me. But with no Fergie I think the club has no choice.

Superior is debatable. Both can be destructive in their own rights. And both have different skillsets as well, while attacking.

And don't forget, di Maria can be as frustrating as Nani was also.

It's not true. They offered him a new contract, he rejected it. Ancelotti said he wanted him to stay.

The reason he's leaving is because they won't offer him the wages he wants and because he's pissed at the fact that they bought in James and Kroos and are further limiting his chances there. The reason Real are commanding such a high fee here is because they don't have to sell if they don't want to, it means nothing to them. They're not actively trying to offload Di Maria at all. They will only sell the player if they get a massive fee they feel is worthy of doing so, similar to Higuan and Ozil.

The price seems steep for a player the club wants to sell, but you know what? I really don't care. This team is in dire need of inspiration and di Maria can provide just that.

The fact that Real Madrid keep on letting their best players go like this is insane. Did they not see how important he was for them?!

He was a winger, they bring on Bale to replace him. He is moved to midfield, they bring on Kroos and James. Media claims he wants to leave, his wife dismisses it on instagram. Media claims he rejected renewal offers, his wife dismisses it on instagram. They've pushed him out.

I hope he is better than Nani or this place will be in meltdown!

Media? Ancelotti said he wanted to leave and it was confirmed they offered a new contract that he rejected.

Madrid won't sell their players unless they get extortionate fee for them, they simply don't care, it's how they operate. They put a price on a player and if you won't meet it, tough.

For all I care is if Di Maria joins, we would have another match winner in our team. We have put the responsibilities on Rooney(may have past his peak), RVP(injured too often) and Mata. With Di Maria arrival, he can change the game with his brain and feet.

Di Maria. Then I'd spend the 200k on midget whores and blow. Sorry...little people.

Why keep mentioning Mata? He's a fantastic player whose nearly as good as Di Maria.

Based on last season the price is justified. I just hope he adepts to the new country and league well. Now we need some defensive/central midfield quality to get some balance into the squad and I'm positive we could be playing 4-3-3 by the time the transfer window is shut.

Di Maria is quicker, has better dribbling and can beat players consistently. Di Maria has shone in El Classico and a UCL final. He has reached heights in huge games of extreme importance which Mata has never in his career.

Ancelotti has no say on who comes or goes or what happens at the club. He is a yes man like he's always been. Bringing in Bale wasn't his idea, like it wasn't his idea to bring in James. Do you think it was Ancelotti who chose Zidane as his second manager last season? Or chose Hierro this season? This is Pérez's club.
