Throwing so much money and not on the midfield? Are we absolute fecking morons? Yep, I think we are.

Well Van Gaal also said in his prematch presser a couple of times that we're looking at Vidal. Who's to say we won't spend more?

Not my money, so I don't care. I bet we could spend 500 mil if we absolutely had to

It would be great if we get Vidal and Di Maria. However what about the British core? What impact would it have on the team to have Herrera, Vidal and Di Maria play instead of British EPL proven players like Fletcher, Cleverley and Young?

75m + 15m add on. Wow that's fecking expensive and our team is still far from complete. If glazers & Fergie had invested wisely in the past, we wouldn't have sunk into this mess

Very true. Hazard at £35m almost closed springs to ming.

Regardless, I am pleased the Glazer's both realise and are willing to pump in good money to fix the mess.

As Linekar and all the pundits I heard today say, we need to buy half a new team. It's true.

Fingers crossed we get two more quality signings. A few fringe player depatures should recoup some money to cover at least one of these buys.

feck the british core until England proves some quality players.

If the British core continues to be shite, then we're better off without one.

Not sure if serious but I will have a bite if you fon't mind, I hope that ''British core'' is replaced by a new one that is led by Jones, Shaw, Blackett and the youth in the next twelve months.

 This EPL proven cliche again.

We aren't Arsenal, having British players especially academy ones is the only thing I can say is a "United way", more than 442 and attacking football. Its been what, 80 plus years and every squad/starting XI has had an academy player it.

This sort of sentiment wont get us anywhere. So should we continue with Cleverley in central midfield? And even with Di Maria and another player, we will still have academy players if it concerns you that much.

What you mean not Arsenal?

They arguably have a better British core than us at the moment.

I didn't say that, and you completely miss the point of what I am saying. Its important because look at the likes of our own Fergies Fledglings, the Busby Babes and individuals like Whiteside and Best, along with Bayern Munich, Barca and LVG's own Ajax. They bought players but they had that core of native players both academy and bought which arguably made them better teams. We should be continuously giving the kids who are good enough a chance WHILST buying the top talent, the two are not chalk and cheese. I just dislike the sentiment that we HAVE to buy big every time to keep competitive and successful, which although it important to buy world class talent you still.

They only have Ramsey who is truly great, the ox is good but he's injured a lot. Walcott is Walcott, Chambers the jury is out, Wilshere has not developed like he should have. So no, they don't, and never have done. And only Wilshere is from the academy.

Well we aren't kicking everyone out. Pearson, Rothwell, Wilson and Perriera all look like they could make it here. We will still be promoting players from within.

I know, but some people think we have to be like city and chelsea when we don't. I don't agree we should just buy a load of world class players and chuck them in a team, which we have done to a fair degree sort of. I think 1 or 2 is great, supplemented with players bought for potential and also academy players, its not failed us yet!

I understand the sentiment, but if you could show United 2 British players better than those two right now I bet you they would sign them in a heart beat. The impact that signing foreign players for these roles will have is a positive one, as they're simply better players, by quite some distance. That's just my opinion though!

We still do have some British players and they'll keep getting chances. Like Lingard did against Swansea, like Blackett, and James Wilson coming through, etc. I would rather have our homegrown players learning off Di Maria and Vidal rather than Young at training

So you want United to be like Kevin Keegan's Newcastle or last season's Liverpool. That style of play is fun but it's not sustainable, it's not a winning style. Defending is important whether you like it or not.
Of course not every game. But there will be days where we ship in a few goals and it's important we believe we can outscore anyone and it'a more important that opposing teams believe that too.

People could worry about the fee or hopefully celebrate that we soon have maybe the most talented player in the PL. I know what I prefer

I think Ramsey, Wilshere, Walcott, Ox, Chambers and Gibbs still look better than Welbeck, Cleverley, Shaw, Jones, Smalling and Blackett though.

we're the only ones who's interested and has the capability of signing him yet are paying 63 mill quid?

Are you new here? He was noy being serious.

SAF and gary neville wont like that
Neville has already said he thinks di Maria is absolutely the right move and we've needed a player like him who can run with the ball for a while now. Absolutely true as well.

Far too much money for the player if thats the fee. I feel like we are getting screwed over.
Us getting screwed over in the market is becoming a regular occurrence. Since Gil left our negotiating has been nothing short of shambolic. We've literally overpaid on every big money signing we've made since last summer.

I read on Twitter the other day that Di Maria's missus was posting pics of Manchester on her FB page

I didn't believe it. . . Now I see that instagram account and I don't know what to believe anymore :(

Yep. . Said its the united way to ha
Though to be fair, it is and you can't really play without width, or very rarely at least. Wingers are always the most exciting players, just most united fans on here grew to get tired of them after seeing Valencia and young so much. We forgot what proper top class wingers can do for a team.

feck the Britsh core, overpriced. Overrated and only occasional ones like Shaw are good enough. City and Chelsea are the ones doing it right.

Most of them are pampered and bigged up by the media from a very young age where as in foreign countries hard work and discipline come naturally for youngsters.

David Gill orchestrated a transfer worth almost £20 million for Ashley Young from Aston Villa with one year left on his contract. We have form for overpaying, and it's not something that can be avoided for the most part, sadly.
