What? He is on a different level to the without a doubt because of everything he brings to the team. We have enough players who can score goals, we need a player who can run with the ball, dribble with it and make things happen for the other players. Di Maria is probably the best player in the world when it comes to that, and one of he hardest working stars. Absolutely worth whatever we pay.

Adding the fact we can now play 433, the thought if janazaj and di Maria on either side of our sides flanks is scary

Herrera ??
Di Maria mata janazaj
Rooney

Well that's your opinion obviously. I myself am quite confident we will see one or two more signings.
I really really hope I'm wrong! Hope we bring in quality as well as quantity.

OK, I'll spin a bit of misery. This will only be a good signing (ADM has been exceptional any time I've seen him, but dives a bit) if we get the sodding defence and central MF sorted. Without that being done we look even more 'unbalanced' squad-wise.

And... you'd think he's so good that he can't fail, but he might.... (Stoke, midweek wet etc).

Definitely a move towards ON status, however, on paper. And worth a :p ahead of today's tricky visit to Wearside.
Actually regardless of any other activity, this is a signing that will help balance us because Di Maria presses and harries like a complete nutter. If we set him up with those instructions he can be a right neusence for position teams.

Haha, I didn't know that. Yes, perhaps not the most appropriate theme for one of our best players. Unless we spin it as the funeral chant for the player that's going to kill the opposition?

*gets coat*

To be fair, it's not just at funerals. It's a "transitions" song so it gets played at weddings and things - but the congregation cry then as well!

He only joined Madrid because we rejected him in favour of Bebe. Otherwise he would have of course joined his dream club, United. Finally, he realises that dream.
It's really strange. Saying Di Maria would have stayed if everyone at Madrid wanted him to means United was his last choice, in muppet language apparently.

Edit - Well, that sentence came out as a complete mess...

Di Maria saying his goodbyes.

Coentrao gripping tightly whispering to his ear, "I should of been there instead of you.."

So are you upset at the muppets? I thought you'd have mixed feelings about this transfer.

You were in the minority then.

Even United fans thought that without CL we won't be able to sign these players.
United remains a big name plus have the money to offer very big contracts which cushions the blow of not playing in Europe.

This is the most excited I've been about a signing since Rooney. A genuine world star signed and a flair player that we've been so lacking for ages. Absolutely ecstatic.

I'd say that is highly likely to be how we shape up now in plenty of games. He gives us the option at the very least without putting on of our nonperforming wingers on, of changing the shape of the team

Save face?! Hang on, do you really believe he would have left had we not brought in James? Seriously?

You are right that the Perez and co have made a mess out of this and it reminds me of Ozil last year. But seeing how that turned out forgive me for not panicking just yet.

That was one of the prime reasons why he wanted to leave. It was the final push for him to decide his future wasn't at Real. Like I've stated in my earlier post there have been plenty of reasons why he wanted to leave Real and all those reasons culminated in him deciding to finally leave Real. Its not like he has been happy over the past 2 seasons and just suddenly became disenchanted with life at Real. It has been in the making for about a year now... It is fairly obvious that there were other factors at play here which led him to leave Real, not just Real buying James as his replacement. He could have possibly left even if that hadn't happened. Who knows what has been going on behind the scenes at Real with the contract negotiations of Di Maria . One thing is for sure though, the transfer rumours for Di Maria started way before James signed for them

No he 'wanted' to leave because of the shite he got from the fans last season. It rather culminated in him making an obscene gesture with his genitals after being substituted off although he has denied that. Real buying Bale unsettled him as well. He wanted to leave because he never got the appreciation and was never valued by the Real hierarchy. His true value in the squad wasn't reflected by his salary and if reports are to be believed he isn't even in the top 10 earners at the club. It has been reported that Di Maria rejected a contract renewal after the CL final and even before James Rodiguez signing so stop trying to save face and admit that Real have been diabolical in dealing with Di Maria which led him to want to leave Madrid.

Delighted with this to be signing. He's a brilliant player that is pretty much exactly what we need in attack.

With regards to the fee, 60m is probably 10 million too steep. He was never going to go for a Sanchez like fee because unlike Sanchez, he was actually excellent for madrid and vital to them in recent times. And frankly, an extra 10 million for a player of this quality isn't that important.

Were desperate, we're loaded and he's excellent. Hope we wrap this one up quickly.

Great summary.

Who's that man from Argentina?
Who's that man we all adore?
di Maria is his name and he probably has a brain because he cost a lot lol
And he will hopefully be winning trophies soon if we buy another CM

As I said to @Vato last night. RM owe us one for RvN, Becks and Ronaldo so Modric for £5 is a done dealio
They don't owe you shit. You are still paying £63m (including addons), which is over priced to say the least. We do not live in a fairy tale.

Will this be the first signing where the player is moving down a level to join utd?

I'm excited by this move cannot wait to see him play, but I do worry a tad. Look at Ozil, he doesn't want to be at arse. I just hope ADM has a great attitude

Di maria is not as talented but is much more flexible and has a much better work-rate and attitude than ozil so I would be confident that he will do well.

For goodness sake, who too the jam out of your donut? Are we not allowed to joke on here anymore? Surely the Modric for a fiver was a bit of a clue?

Now who is the depressing cocknose?

Jokes are allowed, but people actually think Real Madrid 'owe us' which quite frankly ridiculous. I am not criticising you, but the idea.

It's actually happening isn't it

The price does worry me though. It's going to get annoying being constantly reminded that we have the most expensive first 11 in the league after years of berating the oil money clubs but feck it it's not my money. Di Maria!

We moan about him trying to negotiate a lower price and say ''just pay the fecking money'' and then when we do pay the money we are pissed off.

The Caf will never change.
I'm not complaining? I'm glad he's spending money but he's clearly a shit CEO.
You're putting words in my mouth

Why do we always have the biggest set of morons to ever grace the planet reporting our deals? This won't be £75m but now as some twats have have decided to say it is, that figure will now get banged on about for the next few years (even if we decide to stamp the real price on his head).

You don't get the ccept of a joke do you?
I just explained to the poster above. People actually do believe we owe them something, people are saying so many time that I don't care if it is a joke or not-don't say it as people believe it. So, you basically wasted your 5000th post. You can't get that back now.

Hope this means we'll go back to 4-3-3 and keep Welbeck as cover for LW/striker.

Can't wait for the Di Maria thread in the United forum's thread list. Ashley Young, Antonio Valencia, Tom Cleverley 14/15 performances and Angel fecking Di maria.
