Andrea Belotti

Never seen him play but I like the sound of this guy. Sorry if this question has already been answered but is he comfortable playing as a lone man up top? I've seen Morata play the lone man role for Spain and he doesn't look comfortable.

Yes.

He is one of the dieing breed of classical number nines. An out and out striker. He is not a Ronaldo, Griezmann or Henry. He is a Drogba, Lewandowski or RVN. The point man whose sole job is to finish.

We can get him for £40m possibly. Why not? Italian clubs don't have a lot of money and Torino is a pretty small club. The 100m is just his release clause and the papers using it to make the transfer sound sexier than it actually is.

Urbano Cairo is expecting nothing less than 84 million pounds for Belotti according to reports.

With what Italy has seen (the purchase of Pogba) that the Premier League is capable of and with the number of clubs possibly interested in him, I am not sure Belotti will come cheap.

@GM K
Don't really care what Cairo supposedly expects. I see no reason to believe he would tell the truth.

You can talk about Pogba but what about someone like Sane? Man City got him for less than £40m from a bigger, more monied club than Torino.

But the difference between Pogba and Belotti is experience. Pogba has played in the Champions League and has 40+ games for the national team. Belotti has had this superb season for the first time. Has just started to play for the national team (but he has had a great start) and to my knowledge not played outside of Italy for his clubs.

So Belotti shouldn't cost as much as Pogba in my opinion. But he'll still be expensive.

Pogba was one of the biggest names in football before last summer, he had been touted as a future world class midfielder for years and his marketability was enormous.
Belotti on the other hand was before this season a virtually unknown name, at least outside Italy. One good season doesn't make him anywhere near as valuable as Pogba.
I'd expect him to go for no more than £50m at most, and that is only if there are more than one club who make him a priority signing.

Watched some clips on YouTube, although they only ever show the good bits, he looks like he can score different types of goals and looks like an old school type of striker.

I love me a good, old fashioned no.9, and Belotti is just about the most promising young one around in that mould. A fighter, good at holding the ball up, will run all day long and can finish in every thinkable way at a high level.

I think he would be great here.

From the Little I have seen he seems to be a good Option if we are looking for a classic striker/number 9.
Not as good as Kane but better than Lukaku.
However anything above 50 Mio EUR might be too much.

hahaha

wtf

100 million for a player who can't stop a ball hahahahah hahahah

Theres not a huge gap between those two

His style isn't pretty and he kinda looks like Craig Bellamy on weights, but Jose would have used up a boittle of lotion on that workrate tonight. #warrior

or he is the new Pippo Inzaghi, or he is overrated

overrated, I would say

If you wait for his second season and he has similar season his price doubles and more teams come after him. I would like if we signed him

He just seems to have the knack of getting the ball in the net through any means possible...basically the complete opposite of our attack at the moment. He would be great but not for 84m, 40m - 50m should be the price.

The 65 million euros number comes from AS, which is a crap source.

Probably be another one in the Arsene could've signed team.

Looks really different with a beard.

Would be a big risk signing this guy imo - he has had a great season no doubt but still a lot of question marks about him. Also he would cost a small fortune.

Was at the Genoa v Torino game yesterday. Torino were pretty poor but Belloti was terrible, ball just bounced off every time it was played up to him also very little movement .He might of just had an off day but on yesterday's showing he is no where good enough for a mid table premier league side never mind us.

If his price doubles, surely that would mean fewer teams being interested? Not many teams can afford those huge numbers?

I think we should go for him. He is eager to learn, has a knack for scoring, is good with his head - sounds like a Mourinho transfer to me. He could be rotated with Ibra and even Rashford next season.

Considering that Kane is not available, I think we should be looking at Aguero and Lukaku before moving to targets outside the PL. Even then I'd have Morata before Belotti. Going into next season with Belotti and Rashford as strikers will be a risk, one will be new to the league and the other isn't ready to lead the line on his own.
Having said that, if we can add goals from the wide areas, in the form of Griezmann and Sanchez (my dream signing this window), we should be alright because Pogba is going to have a 20+ goals/assists season.

No thanks. Seems average. Win tomorow, get Griezmann, then i would prefer someone from the youth stepping up if we need another striker. This guy is just deadwood on the bench

If we can get Griezmann then i would keep Rashford as first choice and allow him to develop in his best position to be honest. The main goal scoring burden would be on Griezmann and Rashford would chip in with a few himself and the majority of those little flicks he does in the box will end up being finished.

We don't need another young striker like Belotti to get in his way. Don't know why people are suggesting players like Lukaku either, the guy has no class and his football has no class either.

If Griezmann isn't our main man upfront, there is no way I want another youth striker to be the pinnacle of our attack. We need a striker who can put the ball in the back of the net over and over again.

Ye, im saying we need someone who can get 30 goals a season. We don't need 2. Belotti is not the answer

I initially wanted us to sign Belotti but not really convinced with him. I have only seen highlights of him scoring goals and know that he presses from up front. I have no clue about his other attributes like linkup play, hold up play, first touch, dribbling, pace, long range shooting, etc. From what I have read about him, we can't expect anything other than goals from him ( I know goals are exactly what we need). It's also not like he's been scoring consistently for many years. This is the first time he has scored 20+ goals in a season. He'll cost above 50m as well. I would rather take someone like Morata over him who surprisingly has a very good goals to minutes ratio this season.

If your definition of deadwood is a 23 year old striker with an excellent goal scoring record then I've no idea who you'd be happy with. Maybe Lewandowski or Kane would be good enough to warm the bench.

Would be a perfect fit for Atletico after they sell Griezmann to us.:D

Works incredibly hard and usually commits more fouls than a defender. Great finisher and is strong forward who can lead the line.
