Andrea Belotti

I think Simon Stone knows feck all as they totally different players.
That doesn't mean he's wrong, though (and Simon Stone doesn't make things up). I think Belotti might be a better fit for the team (haven't watched him more than once!), but Griezmann is obviously a far better player, and therefore our first choice. If that fails, we might end up going for the one who's the better fit for Mourinho's football. It seems like the club is quite confident about Griezmann, though.

Think Griezmann is the better fit for what Jose wants to build.

We need a finisher and he ticks all the boxes

Belotti is actually a pretty wasteful player and coming of the back of his only good season in the Italian league. Would be a pretty huge downgrade on Griezmann.

What if we want both Griezmann and him? Would make sense IMO. Griezmann isn't a leading striker. He likes playing off a main striker. We don't have a "striker" like that at the club since Ibrahimovic probably won't stay but is injured anyway. People might say Rashford but he's a kid who is nowhere close to being ready to start consistently and be the main striker yet. So no. Belotti top, Griezmann and Mkhitaryan playing off of him, then Pogba, herrera and another mid would be much more a "Mourinho side" then Griezmann top and miki/rashford around him. Mou needs his big man up top.

Not seen him play a single minute live, im not sure how many could here, don't even know how you'd be able to watch Torino games.
Maybe theres a few who make an effort to watch him each week, who knows, but you always get the impression theres a lot of posters on the CAF that look at stats, or 5mins of youtube and conclude opinions, i.e. Morata bad, Belotti good, too readily.

we need to sign 2 attacking players imo.

should it be Griezmann + one, as much as i would prefer jose to sign a premier league proven striker like lukaku or kane, i would not mind Belotti. just got a feeling he is a jose type of a CF.

The complete finisher if he was on the end of the chances we missed this year I'd be extremely confident he'd put most of them away would love him in a united shirt! Only thing is his price tag €100M is a lot for someone who isn't at that top top level but I personally think he'll get there!

This was what I was thinking, hardly ever seen Torino on BT, I think once or twice last season and I cant even remember him in the games to be honest. He is getting hyped in Italy too though, think the Juve manager raved about him a bit as well. He does look good on youtube (who doesnt) and does seem very much a Mourinho type striker, but that fee seems crazy based on one season. This summer the fees bandied about are crazier than ever......then you see Tielmans going for 23m to Monaco, there are still good deals available, look at Bailly last year for £30m for us even. Then again I got laughed at on a thread I started for suggesting Moisa Kean as a £40m signing as absolutely ludicrous (which it is to a degree) as he hasnt played or proved himself barely.....then a week later Real or Barcelona sign a Brazilian for pretty much the same fee that hasnt even played hardly. We are going to spend over £200m I think this summer as are City. Both of us really need to get it right, in the correct areas to be competitive in Europe I think.

Like I said elsewhere when you actually start looking, it's not easy. Not sure we need the lottery of looking at some either first good season or unproven at the highest level....not this season anyway. We have a good deep squad but we should be signing people who can go straight into the starting 11.....

I think we should sign him purely on the basis of the music that was on the youtube clip I watched of him.

Agree, a lot of that happenign with MOnaco players for example, yet last summers must signs such as Sanches are now apparently rubbish after one bad season, very fickle. I agree we should be signing players that can go in and improve our first eleven straight away as I totally agree we have a good deep squad, just not a great first eleven. People talking about Michael Keane as a good back up for example seems strange to me. Same time I dont think we should just be signing players proven at the highest level, all a bit galatico for me. One or two like that yes, but at the same time sure there is in a couple of positions another Bailly like signing for example, those are the ones we always used to make and the type of signings I love

If we sign Belotti what does it mean for Rashford? Does he slot in behind Zlatan and Andrea?
I think Zlatan wouldn't be back before 2018. I don't think either Rashford or Belotti are suited to playing a lone hand up front. I think if anything Belotti would allow Rashford to be more effective by drawing some of the attention of opposition CBs. They're both prepared to fight on their own but only really flourish with other attackers in their midst.

Belotti is a very good player and different to Rashford, Martial or hypothetically Griezmann. Would be a great signing.

I'm a Utd fan living in Italy, and my team here is Torino.
He'd definitely add something different to our team, kinda reminds me of Choccy the way he finishes.

3 assists today so far in 75 minutes vs sassulo.
Commentators saying he is playing the totti role in honour of the captain.
25 goals and 7 assists for torino this season in 34 games. in the league only. Vice captain at the age of 23(24 in december). This includes a dry spell of no goals in last 4 games.

This is one player we need to sign.

I think you should stay clear emotionally of him, you will end disappointed again. While he wont be snatched up by City or probably anyone else for now, i dont think we will go for him either. Price is the issue

You think he is good enough to be our striker?

Think torino will cash in if a huge offer is made. They wont believe they can get 100 million for him. I think 60 million would do it.

Maybe, maybe they will keep him for another season and sell him for 80 next. Hard to say, question marks if we go for a real striker, but rumours so far suggest so, with us being linked to Morata (choosing Milan apparently) and Lukaku talk. Belotti could be an option, especially if the price is right, but i have my reservation if we would go for him in the end.

He scored!!
Also most media outlets have linked us to him. I think we will get him. He is the typical jose striker. Defends from the front, converts most chances, good movement, deadly finishing decent pace.

Belotti
Perisic Griezmann Mkhitaryan
Pogba Herrera

Against the small teams this would be devastating.

Belotti is about the only decent striking option left.
He is not just decent. He scored 26 goals in 34 appearances for Torino in the league with 7 assists. Harry kane has similar numbers. This season he has been great.

Yeah he's done well but Serie A is a strange league to gauge quality.

You mean he shoots very close to the keeper and misses a bunch of chances?

I don't see Auba suiting Jose and Lukaku is one dimensional and not good enough to build a top team around which you have to do with a player like him.
And Belotti isn't? For all the shit Lukaku gets about his technique and first touch Belotti seems to be just as raw as him.

Because all the others have already gone? The season isn't even finished yet. There are plenty of options still available. Basically every option is still available.

He scored only 12 goals last season, and it is quite possible this season is a flash in the pan. Kane has scored 20+ goals for 3 seasons running and scored 29 in 29 games this season. They are not even close

Belotti is also unproven as he has never played in Europe.

You don't need to build a team around Belotti though, he's a pretty versatile forward and has better movement and presses relentlessly from the front., where as Lukaku is a target #9 and you need to play to his strengths. Personally neither excite me massively.

There aren't many to choose from, the best ones are at clubs that wont sell, which leaves Aubameyang, Lukaku and Belotti who are all actually for sale.

It is, but it is quite a feature to score so many goals for a mediocre side.

I agree there, I'm just slightly cautious that he could be a Vardy.

I said he was close this season.
I never said he was the real deal. I just said, he is not just decent, he has been great THIS SEASON.
