Andrea Belotti

I find it amazing how he's second choice behind Morata but we're willing to spend more on Belotti! :wenger:

He's come off the back of a phenomenal season. 35M probably gets you little more than Shane fecking Long.
Exactly my point though, it's mad how much money is thrown around. Its not just Belotti, but morata who has doubled in price after 1 year after only starting 18 games this season. Prices have just risen so quickly in the last 2 seasons, it's something that will probably take me a while to adjust to seeing these prices stuck on players heads. I remember when we bought Luke Shaw for £30M and that was labelled insane at the time by opposition fans, now Southampton want up to £75M for Van Dijk.

Transfer fees should be converted into a clubs percentage for that years window.

So if a club has x to spend then the press report the club has bid 56% of its transfer budget/allowance.

Becauce at the end of the day the transfer fee is just the number the two clubs have agreed to pay. It not really what the players skills are worth.

I would be amazed if Torino doesn't settle at a lower fee than the buyout clause.

He seems a great little goal scorer, but only 1-3 clubs in the world will be able to afford that figure.

Maybe they'll be happy with keeping him but even 60m is a huge amount.

For 80 million anything I'd rather we went for players which may be seen as unobtainable, and test the waters with £60m bids for Lewandowski, Kane and Aubameyang before we resort to bidding silly money for a Morata or Belotti.

I'd like to believe us fans are smart enough to guess the amount we have to spend and find out the ratio accordingly.

We paid 35 million for Anthony martial, when he was 19 and had hardly played and scored 10 goals with clauses that would raise the price to 57 million,
35 million gets us nothing, especially for an attacker unless we can find a complete unknown.
For a guy who has scored 25+ league goals in italy, he will cost 50-60 million easily.
We are ready to pay 5 million for a 16 year old from benfica and real paid 45 million for a guy who had not even played a professional game, i think money is not going to be a problem. I think the market is that way, that anyone half decent will go for big money. I think this is why Griezmann for 87 million is cheap as he guarantees quality and experience which Morata/belotti dont.

Lukaku doesn't have what it takes to be a top striker at a top club and that is also proven. Apart from his finishing everything else is very average or poor.

When he was 18/19?

Except Lukaku more than likely isn't available. By all accounts he looks set on Chelsea, and, not signing for a manager who previously shipped him out.

Isn't available because Chelsea tapped him up. If we pushed for him, I don't see why we couldn't have got him.

Delany reckons we want him and Morata, which i think will be wonderful as Morata can also play on the wings.I hope that is true. Delany has a shit record, so i am not holding my breath.

All the briefing from Mourinho and Woodward has been about bringing in 3 or 4 players yet Miguel Delaney insists that we are after far more than that.

Belotti looks like a reasonable back-up for Rashford but at an insane price. Some of the defending in his YouTube highlights vids, has to be seen to be believed.

A back up for Rashford

We are getting only one of Morata or Belotti. If Mourinho wants a backup striker, he would likely prefer a more experienced and known quantity.

Rashford is a far better player than Belotti, or rather will be once he has had some time to learn the art of being a central striker.

If Mourinho wants him, I'm down. Worst case scenario and he bombs, he's still young enough with a big enough reputation in Italy to attract a club if it doesn't work out - especially, with the money now in the Italian game.

Who cares about his defending? He's a centre bloody forward :D.

He wouldn't be a back up to Rashford either mate.

Is this the next transfer after Morata? Show me more Woody, walk into Torino with your big balls and bring him home.

He's better than Rashford.

If we can get him, Perisic, Morata and Fabinho it's been a very good window. I'm sure @Devil may care will still moan though.

I've never seen him play but I have in my imagination that he'd play like Tevez. What's his actual style?

He's better than Morata too imo and will be our first choice CF if he comes. Which makes me wonder how Jose manages to convince Morata to swap Real's bench for ours.

Morata is a lot more versatile and can play across the forward line. So that will help.

If we get Morata I will be very surprised if we go for Belotti. As we also have Rashford and Mourinho won't play with 2 centre forwards i know people have said Morata can play wide but I don't see him leaving Real 2 come and play wide for us. I think our forward options next year will be Morata if he comes Rashford and Martial.

If Rooney and Zlatan leave, 2 strikers would make sense. We could also go for someone behind the striker, but i think that is Griezmann's spot for next year.

May be he plans to go 3-5-2

Belotti was listed as second choice if we don't get Morata, so I think this story will he finished once we sign the latter.

Is there a case of the Vardy about him? Or has this season been coming?

I'm talking about a physical striker who came from nowhere really.

I've never watched the guy play and don't know much about him apart from a few YouTube videos. So I'm just genuinely questioning.

Don't want him, we have enough spanish players as it is. We should rather sign another italian to make Morata feel at home.

How would spending close to £140m on two strikers make sense when one is going to start on the bench?

Healthy competition, Morata can also play as an inside Forward. If Morata gets injured for 2-3 months, we would have Rashford or Martial up front. Thats not good enough to challenge for anything, in that time without a proper striker we could get left behind.
