Just seen the third goal. Can't be palming that straight to them. He doesn't seem to have any control over his saves. Just wants to get hands to it and doesn't direct them
4 goals in 3 matches is the type of stats we should be expecting from Rasmus, not Onana..
7 goals in 4 matches would be a great stat if he was a striker.
23 goals in 13 games. Fantastic.
If he was a striker that is.
Probably laughs at his own jokes.Change the record. Jesus Christ.

Could have been at least 5 without some of the saves he made. I mean some were pretty unorthodox but they stayed out regardless.Would have been a cricket score without him yesterday tbf.
Yes, it's very boring and unimaginative. Another agenda that is fuelled by social media and lapped up by the sheep.I wouldn't even mind that much, but Onana was our only player to come out of that match with any credit at all. After half time, our entire first choice back four and both DMs were injured or unfit, while we're playing the best side in the world. We let them have 10 shots on target (more than Liverpool had in the fecking 7-0) and Onana was the only reason it wasn't the bumming to end all bummings.
But nah, got to wade into the thread of the player I have an agenda against and try and dunk on him anyway.
I have to agree with you on the 3rd goal.Just seen the third goal. Can't be palming that straight to them. He doesn't seem to have any control over his saves. Just wants to get hands to it and doesn't direct them
Saved us from embarrassment yesterday. A couple of very dodgy challenges too though.
It appears to me his distribution isn't as good as it's made it out to be but it doesn't matter because even if it was it would be 100% wasted with the way we play.
He did make some very good saves but I thought he was atrocious on the second goal. Haaland’s header goes in the centre of goal about chest height. He dived past it and under it.

This is an absolutely wild take. I've just watched it again to make sure I wasn't going mad.
I'll give the caf another few days before logging back on I think...
He’s the worst first choice keeper I’ve seen at United and he’ll be the end of Ten Hag. We’re basically starting every game a minimum of one goal behind.
It’s not difficult. He’s a mediocre shot stopper at best. If a ball goes in the centre of the goal at that height then it’s always questionable. He anticipates and dives early and as a result he dives past the ball and under it. He did make some good saves to go with it yesterday but second and third are both questionable.I think that post is just a post from an poster who already decided that Onana is crap.
Even looking for faults and errors (even going so far to use words like atrocious in a situation that doesnt warrant that kind of description) in Onana his good games so the poster wont be at the risk of looking stupid for prematurely writing Onana off. His mind if already made up and will look for moments to confirm his ideas because that is easier than changing an opinion.

Why? It's not supposed to be funny, is it. His job is to keep the ball out of the goal, he averages 2 goals in every game. And don't get started as he is a modern goalie blah blah, his job is to keep the ball out of the net. Striker's job is to put the ball in the net. Simple.Change the record. Jesus Christ.
I don’t blame him for the goal. The space City were allowed was scandalous and there are many parts at play. I point it out as for me it’s another example of his questionable goal keeping and even in a game he did quite well there were others. I don’t think it’s much to ask a goalkeeper to not dive past a tame header that goes in the centre of the goal. If he rockets it in from point blank range it’s a different matter. It’s a looped header that goes in the goal at chest height.I dont agree. I dont think you can blame Onana for a free Haaland header from very close by. The only way the goalkeeper stops that is if the striker accidentally hits the goalkeeper. If that attempt was saved it would have been called a miracle save. Not making that save isnt something to blame Onana for.
That said, questionable is already a very different qualification than ''attrocious''.

Yeah, whatever.Simple is the perfect word for your takes in this thread.
Onana made some incredible saves yesterday. We can reiterate the idiocy of letting De Gea go in the name of “transforming our attack” all we want but here we are now and our new keeper is starting to find his gloves…and his vaunted passing isn’t all that impressive after all.
No player in this team would be able to take advantage of his passing anyway. How many of our midfielders can control a ball under pressure, then turn and lay it off to beat the press? How many times did Onana have the ball yesterday after yet another back pass from Maguire/Evans, then push up out of his box with no midfielder dropping in to get it off him? When he has the ball he has two options : Play with the CBs or a fullback who is usually hugging the touch line (who gets closed down seconds after getting the ball due to our bad build up structure with the ball finding its way back to Onana again) or go long to Højlund/Rashford.
We have no one in our midfield who can get the ball while being closed down and find a solution to beat the press. City have got several of that type of player...... Foden, Bernardo, Alvarez etc. Contrast that with our midfield that can't keep the ball longer than 5 seconds before playing a hopeful pass up the pitch or passing backwards. Onana was actually our most progressive player yesterday, that's very embarrassing.
Nope. It's about being brave and inviting the press, then having the composure to thread a ball into the space that has been vacated. And his tendency to hold the ball at his feet until he’s under pressure from an attacker actually retards rather “transforms” our attack. He needs to release the ball far more quickly to at least give us a chance at an overload against the opposition, but by hanging onto the ball for eons he allows the defense to reorganize and easily swat anyway any pathetic attack we might muster.
We all knew that our back line is what it is. There was no need to “upgrade” at keeper in light of other far more serious deficiencies in the outfield. But as I said before here we are and it’s great to see Onana making challenging saves. But as for his passing, it’s definitely an upgrade on De Gea but not by that much. Still trotting out that claim I see.
He must hold onto the ball to draw the press and create gaps in behind for other players to fill and look for the ball. It's standard practice really when your trying to play out from the back like that with the keeper.
Would you rather he hoofed it aimlessly down the middle or out for a throw under no pressure?
He did make some very good saves but I thought he was atrocious on the second goal. Haaland’s header goes in the centre of goal about chest height. He dived past it and under it.
Having watched it again there is no way he's at fault for the second goal. He's throwing himself one way and haaland powers it back across himI'd be more concerned about why Haaland was completely unmarked at the far post!
I hope you're not seriously suggesting that it's working.
