That shot that hit the post near the end. Kneeling on the ground looking on in shock as if a shot at goal was the last thing he expected to happen
Mount I can give a pass to, he's been out most of the season and was barely match fit tonight, the rest we should be looing to move onI reckon in terms of worst transfers for this season we have three of them, Onana, Amarabat & Mount. Pathetic. How do you even get anyone else to take this guy without them even having to pay his wages?

Our priorities were ST, CM, CDM, CB and GK - I think most people would agree with that. We got all of them (albeit Amrabat on loan, with Casemiro +Mainoo coming in) and would have bought a CB had it not been for Maguire staying (who, by the way has been one of our best CB this year).Even if he was brilliant he was a misplaced priority. A good few of us said attack and midfield needed work before we got another keeper.
I seriously doubt that Onana is better in training than the Turkish guy. I even wonder what kind of GK coaches do we have, allowing this guy to wear gloves at first team matches?? That's seriously bad.Bayinder must be really crap in training for Onana to keep his place, and Heaton has to be jut as bad
Feel like that with his saves too.I’ve never seen a goalkeeper concede so many weird looking goals. In that you’re like “how did that go in”.

We have a full season to judge him on now, and he honestly looks shocking. Fundamentally he seems very flawed.
I do think he’s been an improvement in playing out from the back, and it’s a shame that it doesn’t really work with what’s in front of him. Would be good to see him consistently with Martinez and Shaw.
https://www.redcafe.net/threads/fai...abrice-ondoa-or-very-good.479361/post-31912363His goalkeeping ability is what you would expect when you put an outfield player in goal.
Do we need to accept he has to be replaced?
Good point, bro.His goalkeeping ability is what you would expect when you put an outfield player in goal.
He’s the sort of keeper where it only works if you have an absolutely top drawer defensive unit behind him. As a shot stopper he’s at John O’Shea’s level.
Thankfully we balanced it out by spending £55million on Mason Mount...
A few here were so actively voicing opinion that once we get a ball playing Gk, we'd start playing tiki taka. All the build up play from the back would be so important that functional midfield and attack were secondary.
So clueless but so loud.
yeah. I deleted my post, as it was unnecessary to fellow Caf. No mod warning or anything. Just thought it over and felt bad posting it.More than a few outside the caf, led by Beth and Statman Dave, were wanking themselves silly by dreaming of a "transformation" in our attack once we brought in Onana.
Is there a chance we could get De Gea back for the last few games?
A very accurate take at that. I've been using my newbie posts to try point out his glaring weaknesses and normally get the classic 'lol you would say that Dave' because of my username. It feels like I've been banging my head against the wall for months, even since his supposed renaissance after the cup of nations.
Absolutely, teams can make mistakes based off of that very thinking "oh he was at Barcelona" then he must be good. Next team "oh he was at Barcelona and Ajax" he must be good etc etcA very accurate take at that. I see the same issues time and time again on goals scored against him and even the saves he does make. I was never more than an amateur league goalkeeper but still had plenty of training sessions with GK coaches and even some ex-pro's and so much of his technique is just plain wrong.
I've been told lots of times the fact he has played for Barca, Ajax, Inter and United means I'm obviously wrong because their scouts know more than me but I have my beliefs as to why he spent most of his time in a weak Dutch league before Inter took a punt when he was free. I dont believe for one second United's scouts had anything to do with the signing, this is clearly a ETH thing.
Also the stat about the amount of shots his faced, I have no doubt at all teams are obviously aware how bad he is and will take more shots because of that. His poor positioning, tendency to try gamble where shots will go and his awful footwork and diving technique make so many shots look unsaveable.
I'm glad the tide seems to be turning again and the majority can see him for the absolute disaster he is.

Let's not rewrite history, he firstly bought a central attacking midfielder that many of us on here pointed out, that was never the right fit, too expensive and unnecessary. Than he went and spent 50m on a GK when we needed a CDM, while loaning a CDM from Fiorentina for 10m. Everything from top to bottom last summer was shady and questionable at best. Many on here pointed it out, and many were slated and even banned for being too negative when pointing out the obvious. So let's not pretend that everyone had their heads in the sand last summer. Our priorities were ST, CM, CDM, CB and GK - I think most people would agree with that. Let's not rewrite history. De Gea had to go. Onana not being good enough won't change that. Furthemore to those complaining about his ball playing not improving our buildup, ask yourself why we've bought a ball playing GK and are playing even more long balls than last year. Do you not think it's something to do with the manager specifying he wants us to be more direct?
I would be the first to argue that the actual signings were poor but that doesn't mean we didnt need a GK. If it were up to me I'd have signed Rice above all. We spent 50 on a GK first because it was the easiest deal. No one is arguing that we don't do poor business.Let's not rewrite history, he firstly bought a central attacking midfielder that many of us on here pointed out, that was never the right fit, too expensive and unnecessary. With the actual situation we had back then, I felt GK was one of our weaker needs. We had DDG on standby and Kovar on the books. Myself I preferred Onana over Raya for example, but considering the deal Arsenal got, while we paid 50m it was also a bad choice. 50m on Onana was an easy deal because we were stupid and Inter were smart, we overpaid that's why it was easy, it's no excuse. ST, CM, CDM, CB and also a LB were all bigger priorities than a GK.I would be the first to argue that the actual signings were poor but that doesn't mean we didnt need a GK. I said the very same thing after the Galatasary game, and got pilloried for it
I was told to give him time etc, etc, well five months down the line and he's still making the same cock ups, plus he was making these cock ups at every team he played for prior to coming to us, so it's part of his game, the guy is a total car crash.
I thought Taibi and Barthez were bad, but this bloke is King Calamity.
Watch this and see that he makes the same errors time after time, it's endemic in his game.
