I mean, apart from the obvious fact that there's a reason he wasn't picked against Liverpool, have people such short memories that suddenly Anderson is a more complete central midfielder than Michael Carrick? fecking hell.

Carrick deserved to be dropped earlier in the season but looks to be finally hitting form (as predicted by SAF who says he always peaks around now) has been of our most consistently effective midfielders for three years now and played well against Liverpool, just two days ago. Despite all of this, you 'tards want him relegated to the bench?

I don't want Carrick relegated to the bench..I just think Fletcher-Anderson & Carrick would be a very good three man midfield.

If we are to go with a two man midfield Anderson-Fletcher is a mobile unit, with enough flair, goal threat and energy to beat the vast majority of teams.

Carrick-Fletch isn't bad either.. but it would be less easy on the eye and would be industrious rather than attacking.

That and his natural game is more suited to what Dunga wants from a midfielder. I remember at least 2 games where Dunga played Anderson so deep it was killing him.

Im delighted anyway let him concentrate on his club form for the moment

We put Scholes alongside Fletch for the Sunderland game, we still got overran with Fletch unable to cover the gaping holes left by Scholes in defensive areas.

Scholes simply must not be put in two men midfields, unless it's a weak team we are up against.
 
You couldnt get Anderson's name off the team sheet back when it was 'Anderson Vs Fabergas, who is better?'... now its Anderson vs Lucas... You can't get him off any quicker.

That was a ridiculous thread, the comparison was silly in the first place back then.Fabregas was an established Arsenal and Anderson was barely playing, fans got too excited too quickly after a few matches

Whereas the one single Liverpool fan who may have once made a joke about Pennant > Ronaldo apparently speaks for the entire Liverpool fanbase. It's easy to say that now you know how wrong you all were.

I don't think anyone gives two fecks what Liverpool fans think about Pennant. In any case, Anderson did more than hold his own against Gerrard, despite his inexperience and it being his fret season. I think that's why people were impressed. The bonus being it wound up your fans no end. :D
 
I don't know what matches posters are watching when claiming Anderson has become the most important midfielder or most in-form midfielder for United. His form is that of Nani - erratic. Hell, Nani has performed better than him this season.

I expected Anderson to be invisible today, and subbed around the 60minute mark.

I was completely wrong, I think it was arguably his best game for us. A beast.

Always has been, and by a mile.

Anderson for me is one of those talents for whom the sky is the limit. He just has pretty much everything in his locker. And physically he's a monster of a player. Love him.

I don't like posts. It's a gross over reaction. I'm all for praising Anderson, he's a fine player and had a fine game today. But....

Also, I'd like to add that once Anderson begins to use his pace better and starts to run at players more he will be absolutely devastating.

Notice something about those matches?

SAF used 4-3-3 which adds another midfielder to help carry the defensive load. Anderson excels in a 4-3-3 because he doesn't have to play so deep. There's another midfielder covering his ass when he's far up the pitch. And it does allow Anderson to harass other midfielders or push forward.
 
Anderson is the reason why United should play a 4-3-3 imo

What a ridiculous comparison...anyone who thinks lucas is even close to Anderson needs a frontal lobotomy....Anderson today like hes done on quite a few occasions now in the very biggest games along with Fletch dominated the midfield against world class opposition...on their own turf!

Joke of a thread...closely rivalled by the 'Gibson is better than Anderson' tripe which is also spouted on here....

Well in fairness I don’t think your in much of a position to question others football intelligence….you’ve on more than one occasion claimed Lucas to be a better player than Anderson founded on little to no logic whatsoever...thats not to mention claiming Darron “cometh the hour cometh the man” Gibson deserves to be in the team ahead of the aforementioned Brazilian because of a few pre season kick abouts against a bunch of part time lorry drivers in Asia…

This place would be a lot better off without teenage muppets who jump in with stupid opinions, without actually bothering to read the content of the thread they're posting in first. It's lazy and it's irritating.

As for Lucas and Anderson, anyone who's actually bothered to read will see that not one person in this thread has said Lucas is a better player, just that he has been playing closer to his potential thus far - a potential that is nowhere near as good as Anderson's potential.

Today Anderson played a lot closer to his own potential and had a very good game. That said, he basically didn't do much more than Lucas did in the game against us. He fought hard and hussled and helped stop Chelsea getting a foothold in midfield. Which is exactly what Lucas did against us, plus an assist.

Anderson can and will play better, especially when it comes to being more of a creative force on the pitch. I am, of course, delighted to see that he's kicking on from a slightly underwhelming season and finally starting to look like the player who impressed so much a couple of years back. More of the same please.

There's a reason why most have him as MOTM.
 
Alex v Anderson should be the next thread because I am playing closeer to my potential than Anderson

Stop back tracking Pogue, you are a good poster, good enough I guess, why so serious. Is anyone who disagrees you a moron?
