Well that would depend on whether you actively want him to fail. If you don't care either way then that is understandable. However, actively wanting a player who just happened to not be good enough for the club to fail in his future career is the mark of a cnut. I don't know where you stand so I cannot judge.

I don't want him to fail, but at the same time I don't want him to succeed.

Why would you want him to fail though?

Now if it's someone like Heinze or Tevez it's understandable but Anderson?? It's not like he's deliberately gone out there and played poorly.

I can even get not caring how he does but actively wanting him to fail is not something I'll ever get.

I don't hate him, I don't think anyone hates him, but why would I want a player who's wasted a massive opportunity to go and succeed somewhere else?

Well for me because he's a likeable enough person despite his performances not living up to what we expected, of course I'd want to see him make good somewhere. I support United but I don't hope that all our ex players endure awful careers.

I don't think that's so bad. Personally, I'd like to see him stay fit and play regular football, more out of interest than anything. I'd certainly rather him do that than struggle. Likewise with Young, or Buttner, players who I'd see the club sell tonight given the chance.

I hope he reignites his career somehow, because I like him, despite him being completely hot and cold for us. Nothing wrong with having a cult hero. Look at Shola Ameobi. Atrocious, yet Toon fans love that useless lump.

I love that chubby Brazilian.

I'm not comparing these players, I'm pointing out how hypocritical a lot of you are.
It's not actually hypocrisy. Different people prefer different players.

Also, it's important to note that Anderson was once our shiny new thing somewhat like Januzaj is right now. He was hugely talented, a character and hence, our fans couldn't help but love the kid. Young has never offered anything to form such a connect with the fans. He was a decent 26 year old we signed.

In addition, Anderson actually didn't live up to his potential so he can thrive under a different setting. At least there's room for it. Young's talent was never all that great. He's not going to suddenly fulfill hidden non existent potential elsewhere, so there's that too.

“Thank you Manchester United for all you gave to me,” Anderson wrote in an open letter via his Instagram account.
“It was a pleasure and a proud to be part of this tremendous club. I will never forget my great colleagues and friends, all the amazing people that work in the club and obviously the fantastic supporters, always on my side.
“Love you all and you always be in my heart. Wish you all the best because we always be together United family. Now I have to leave because I really need to play.
“Thank you Fiorentina for this opportunity and for believe in me. You won’t regret because you trust me 100% and I will give you 100% of dedication, professionalism and quality. Together we will be happy.”

This cnut cost me so much fecking money on "To score" bets, as I am sure a few caffites know fecking well at this stage.

Kept thinking he would come good. Never did. I'll keep backing him for Fiorentina.

well...he earned a great deal of money off us, probably set up for life, and didn't really contribute anywhere near enough in return. However, sometimes you just get those players who are very likable....and you just don't begrudge it so much.

I probably missed something but was there ever an official announcement by United about the loan? I don't even remember seeing anything on the official website, just Moyes confirming it in his press conference.

Will wear the no. 88 shirt.

What would happen if Ando suddenly rediscovers his form and class? What does that say about Moyes?

Well you cant blame Moyes for that. We have waited 5-6 years for him to gain his form. If he rediscovers his form, then it will be easier to sell him. Maybe a complete change of scenario is what he needs.

With all due respect to Serie A fans, I think Ando might just do better there than in the Prem. At the end of the day the level of competition is so much lower outside of maybe juve.

He was doing that last season before he got injured again. I think he's similar to Rooney that he needs to keep playing game after game to stay fit and injuries (and his occasional stinker) have been the main issue here

I think he'll do well with more space in Italy, but selfishly I hope he picks up an injury and has to come back to United. Just cause I love him. :(
