Ander Herrera is a Manchester United Player!

Waiting for the "he received a personal call from Jose Mourinho and that was all it took" tweet.

Think its the right time for both him and the club... Coming from Bilbao they don't play too dissimillar to a British style football, not sure he had a brilliant season though but he has immense quality that will benefit us...
He is actually the type of player we should be signing.

Michael Carrick had it all to prove as well and he worked out alright. Juan Veron had a much bigger name and didn't do half as good here. Having a big name isn't everything.

He has all the attributes to play the box to box role for us and he has a manager that will know how to use him. The likes of Vidal were just a fantasy, while Fabregas and the like don't fit into van Gaals system. Herrera, on the other hand, is practically tailor made for it.
I think the thing that counted against Veron was he was coming into a team that was already fully functioning and well balanced. It was harder to adapt a winning formula to accommodate him. Herrera is coming into a dysfunctional team that needs to be completely reconstructed. It's a different kind of challenge but the advantage is Van Gaal has a clean slate to devise a system to get the best out of the players we have by the start of the season, with Herrera presumably right at the heart of it.

:( I went to sleep with him "At Carrington", announcement "imminent... woke up to "there are problems" and unveil on Friday if all goes well..

It's not happening is it?
Ed! :nono:

That's all well and good apart from the fact the clubs recent major announcements - Mata signing, Moyes going, LvG taking over, Giggs retiring - all happened while the stock market was closed. But it's ok, most of the Caf will keep believing this myth that nothing can happen while the stock market is closed.

Well there was so much fuzz about it when SAF retired and it always seems to be the case since it can effect the share prices etc but hey, im not close to an expert on this field so it might just be a myth as you call it.

I think it's safe to remove 'At Carrington' from the title unless he's having a sleepover there.

Should be changed to "probably in bed".

Tomorrow morning it should be "eating breakfast".

At about 12pm it should be "having lunch".

Etc. etc. :D

A technical problem.

Only United would have this shit happen.

To be fair, if I remember right Munich had to go through an awful lot of bullshit to sign Martinez, it may be more of a problem on Bilbao's end (possibly doing their best to stall until his release clause goes up).

Thought this would of been announced today. Dithering united once again. Hopefully were get some news on Shaw by the weekend now he's back in England
Dithering? We only heard about this a day or two ago. Does it really matter if it happens today, tomorrow or Friday, as long as it happens? What's with all the daft impatience? It was the same with van Gaal.

No one is surprised, right? on the last day of the transfer window we'll sit here hoping we manage to push through a deal for Darrion Gibson.

Woody you better not mess this up... If we end up with Palacios like we ended up with Fellaini last year you will get hurt.. Get it done.

The guessing game begins!

Could be tomorrow, could be Friday, could be at 1am next full moon etc.

We should have an "offical United announcement sweepstake thread" or something for these things.

FFS Woodward can't even fill out a form? Time to sack him! #WoodwardOut #GarryCookIn

Apparently the same issues as last year may have arisen in terms of the complex nature of Spanish buyout clauses, who needs to pay who and who owes tax on what. Should still go through, just might take longer than anticipated.

So we're basically doing what Bayern did with Javi Martinez in having the player buy himself out of the contract..
