Al right elaborate so? RVP is a signing of intent, so was Mata. They are proven world-class players, Herrera isn't at this moment or are you claiming he is? I repeat once again I rate him and I am happy we are signing him but that doesn't mean I see him as the type of signing which will scare the shit out of the opposition. We arguably bought both Arsenal's and Chelsea's best player, that is what I call a "signing of intent."

Next in line to be bitten apparently. That why transfer taking a bit longer. MU doctors vaccinate Ander against all sort of stuff, who knows what has been in that mouthWhat's it got to do with Ander Herrera though?
Fergie's logic. It worked quite well.Midfield is our weakness and we're halfway to fixing the problem. I'm sure our rivals would rather see us sign a big name striker than see us sort that midfield out.
Phil Neville still has one or two old Tony Hibbert videos to run past the lad before we close the deal.Is he still at Carrington?

Too early to come to that conclusion but like somebody quoted me before in this thread, he was probably one of the better "achievable" options available at this moment. I was only questioning the statement made by a certain person in this thread, who said "this transfer is a signing of intent", which in my opinion it is not. Doesn't mean I don't think it's a good signing, 2 very different things.
Google translate: Ander Herrera deposited on Monday LFP document with 36 million euros to disengage from the Athletic
Someone help!
Who is Inigo Markinez?
There are problems. The LFP is studying the document because there seems to be "a technical problem". Are studying.
FECK
Inb4 the technical problem is blamed on Ed Woodward
Why is Patrick Swayze having dinner with the Bilbao players, far right.

You can define "a signing of intent" in many ways. This transfer could be seen as signing of intent, in the sense that we are strengthening an area which has been evidently weak over the last few years and in dire need of improvement for way too long. And Herrera will most likely be our best midfielder almost instantly considering we are ridiculously weak in that department especially for a club of this quality and reputation. I personally see a signing of intent as a player who brings instant world-class quality to the team and unnerves other teams and their managers. I do rate him however and reckon he improves us quite a lot but our midfield in my opinion is not sorted just yet. He's exactly what we've needed for what ? 3-4 seasons now, an energetic, actual midfield player of genuine quality. The fee is as much a signal of intent as the name on his shirt, yes we paid good money for Mata and even Fellaini but for the club to pursue this lad so vehemently and actually meet the price tag has been somewhat unprecedented recently. Mata and Fellaini you could argue as panic buys, one in a position we are already strong and the other you wouldn't be surprised not making the grade.
It should have been our "intent" to strengthen the central midfield position last summer, probably even the summer before that, and beyond to be honest but now it looks to be happening, this signing is more about his ability and the position he plays rather than his association with an already overloaded Spanish midfield.

No single signing was ever going to sort our midfield though, let's be honest, it's been in dire need of overhaul for way to long. We could have gone out and landed a name like Fabregas or may have even attempted luring Vidal or similar but Herrera ticks our boxes and we're looking likely to have picked up a fantastic addition. Like you say he is a better player than any of our current crop and IF we pull our fingers out and finally announce this I assure you there will be groans coming from other teams and managers as LVG sets his team out.You can define "a signing of intent" in many ways. So you still claim that Moyes didnt want Herrera? He 'said' a lot of things. He also said Fellaini was technically gifted.
He is also technically very good at chesting the ballHe is technically gifted, who do you think installed the ipads?
