Hyopthetically, if Herrera and Shaw are the only first-teamers we sign, how well would you all expect us to do next season?

Considering the Van Gaal factor too, I'd say we'd still do considerably better than last season. I don't think people realize the impact Herrera will have on our midfield, he won't transform us completely, but the difference will be pretty big and refreshing. As for Shaw, he's an improvement on Evra of today.

I'd be very surprised if they were our only signings though.

Very excited about this. He needs to get a lot stronger though, his body is too soft and weak at the minute. He'll get muscled out of it too easily. Don't expect it to be a long term problem.

Did Modric? Have you seen how thin Modric is .... but how damn good as well.

You couldn't be more wrong. Herrera is a tough customer, he won't be bullied at all IMO.

Are you sure you've watched him play?

I know that. I mean in terms of the rumors coming out 2 days ago with the prospect of him signing today. That's what I mean in terms of "fastest" transfer.
Mata. Anderson. Larsson. Vidic. Evra. We've done this before, it's much better than a saga that's for sure.

We still would need another CM that can win the ball back .... though that is probably being held for Strootman in January.

I feel as though Clev and Fletch can be useful squad players.
Young, Anderson and Fellaini need to be off IMO as they offer us nothing.

I would keep fellaini ahead of cleverly, who could offer us That impact off the bench. I feel cleverly young and nani are guarantees are completely useless, Those 3 could be replaced by a top wide player and a CM player , which would clear the wages for some better players especially young

Ander Herrera is meeting with Manchester United officials at their training ground in Carrington ahead of a switch to Old Trafford.

The Athletic Bilbao midfielder was met by Sir Bobby Charlton with a reception party at Carrington after he arrived in a white VW transporter before being shown around, along with his agent.

Where did you hear that?

How come there are no photos of him arriving at Carrington, Stockport, etc when this has been all over the news? No pics of the cavalcade in which he is travelling.. nothing. The muppets and press like dailyfail are not doing enough thinking this deal has already been done. We need more pics!

Apologies if already posted, his performance against Sevilla on April 27th.

Definitely needs to improve his shooting.

Did you watch him week in week out in La Liga to come to this conclusion?

In other words "he needs to bulk up"

I'll just reply to this since others are asking me pretty much the same thing. The answer is no - I haven't seen him play a huge amount. Maybe I'm completely wrong, I hope I am. His body just looks a little feeble to me. Not saying he'll flop or that he's not good enough, I think he's a really exciting talent. I hope it's not an issue.

Somebody have to go if we want to accommodate another CM. We have Fellaini, Anderson, Fletcher, Carrick, Clev and now Herrera...

Expected Herrera to be looking for higher than £50,000 per week to be honest (as the Mail are reporting). Anyone know what he's currently earning at Bilbao? A quick search is only bringing up news from the past few days.

I thought 50 seems low too. We're doubling his wages though, because his salary as of 2011 from his current contract at Bilboa is for 1.5 million Euros a year, which is 1.2M pounds which translates to 25,000 pounds a week

Anderson. Keeping both Fletcher/Carrick would be understandble because they are getting older and won't always be playing. I think Cleverly will flourish under van Gaal. Fellaini is the odd one out, but I'm not sure if we'd take a loss or not on him or try get it working somehow.
