Ander Herrera is a Manchester United Player!

If we really have bought this player, I really hope we either slightly overpaid or underpaid the clause, cuz, a 45% tax on top is just too much in my opinion.

According to some El Correo we offered to pay €40m to avoid problems with the clause etc. but Bilbao rejected it and it's being done at €36m.

No he's probably one of these new age weirdos who sees a completely stupid statement by a poster and rightly calls them out about it.

There is no way that you can statistically argue Anderson is better than Fellaini.

Well good thing it isn't a statistical argument then. Anderson has not had a worse season than Fellaini has just had for us, despite being much criticised. If that is a 'completely stupid statement' , then perhaps you will be better served focussing on Wimbledon instead of the World Cup for the remainder of this month.

Yep, read that too. They were always the weirdest, but now they are even more weirder.

I can see van Gaal finding roles for most of the midfielders we have. He doesn't need world-beaters in every position, he likes players who will serve a very specific purpose. I can see him using Fellaini, Cleverley and Fletcher as part of a rotation. Anderson I think will certainly be off.

That idea LVG can find roles for cleverly Fletcher and fellaini alone can give any united fan nightmares, especially when you see the dog shit we have out wide in Valencia nani and young

Expected Herrera to be looking for higher than £50,000 per week to be honest (as the Mail are reporting). Anyone know what he's currently earning at Bilbao? A quick search is only bringing up news from the past few days.

Over two hours since we heard he was at Carrington. I'm terribly impatient.

That was what fellaini was supposedly meant to give us, look at where that got us, I am kind of sick of hearing about it. One of the best midfields of all times Barcelona's 09-13 team, did not have aggressive destroyers.

Lol when did anyone think Fellaini was gonna give us mobility?

Well I ashley young is on the reported wages he is on, surely Herrera would be on a similar wage?

Well last year he was willing to take a wage drop, which is a bit ridiculous from Bilbao to United really.

They're not a rich club (in fact most clubs in La Liga struggle financially), so I'd reckon even at 50k, he'd be getting a decent increase.

Would reasonably assume they'd pay Everton level wages etc. Around a median of 20-25k per player?

Just under €30k p/w.

@Shark mentioned £145,000 per week a few posts above yours.

He won't be on that, El Correo say it'll be €3m a year after tax which is about £100k p/w I think.

Wasn't a wage drop from what he was on at Bilbao, was a drop in his contract demands from us.

Incredible that we don't have any pics of him at Carrington floating about. Anyone watching SSN by any chance? Are they floating about there?

Also the reports for 50k/week were after tax (I am not sure how much are taxes in England but I guess before the tax it'll be 80-100k).

I feel as though Clev and Fletch can be useful squad players.
Young, Anderson and Fellaini need to be off IMO as they offer us nothing.

He was willing to accept less than what we were offering, not less than what he was earning at Bilbao.

This is why I'm quite sceptical about it. I'm sure he'll sign for us but I don't think he's at Carrington right now, only heard it from the media so far. Some pictures would be nice :D

Ohh remembered it wrong then. Still, 50k a week after taxes isn't much at all, which is the apparent 3m a year after taxes.

Di Maria is on a 3,5m€/year, so 3m is pretty normal.

Hyopthetically, if Herrera and Shaw are the only first-teamers we sign, how well would you all expect us to do next season?

If this went through today (fingers crossed) or Friday or whatever would this be one of our fastest transfers ever? No saga bullshit just straight to the deal being reported.

4th or 5th

So, that is around 100k/week which is higher than the likes of De Gea, Rafael, Carrick etc.
But then there is also this €4m of his own money that he's supposedly buying out his Bilbao contract with. Perhaps he was offered higher wages to pay that off over time. Or he could just be given a €4 signing on bonus.

Even if we signed no one we would still do better than last season because of the van Gaal factor. With Herrera and Shaw? We'd end up in the 5-3rd range if not better.

Very excited about this. He needs to get a lot stronger though, his body is too soft and weak at the minute. He'll get muscled out of it too easily. Don't expect it to be a long term problem.
