Now we need to sign a Vidal or at least a De Jong or Bender.
Stootman,Carvalho,Gundogan we have to be chasing.

Hopefully we land shaw and any 2 of the bunch above we ll be rocking. Id be happy enough with or centre backs if they didnt pick up so many injuries and promote keane,so need another 1.

think Vidal is off the menu though,he ll choose a big hitter which because of David moyes effect we are temp out of that bracket.

...at a pie eating competition.

Anderson cant complete a full 90 minute match. I'm amazed that he still earns a living off our club.

To be fair to the fat bastard, he has more talent in his beer gut than the bog brush and Cleverley put together.

Just a pity he is so lazy.

The shorter the transfer thread the higher success rate of said transfer. Herrera and Mata further underline this fact.

Bilbao have a rather unique policy of singing only Basque players. It can result in difficult transfer windows and a reliance on their academy to produce the goods.
Bilbao only sign players from their own specific region of Spain. Therefore they have a very small talent pool from which to pick. Therefore the players they do have are worth more to them. Therefore they are inflexible when it comes to transfers, they set a price at which they are prepared to sell and they dont budge from it.

If they could sign anyone players would be easier to replace and therefore wouldnt be worth so much, basically.

Oh yes, what KM said.
Basque country is an area of northern Spain. Bilbao only allow players of Basque origin or 'nationality' on their books. Therefore, they don't have a wide pool of players to choose from when it comes to replacing their players and therefore demand top money.

IIRC, Real Sociedad had a similar ethos until recent years and they now allow foreign and non-Basque players.

Thanks Guys. I understand now, much appreciated.

That is quite an admirable way run a football club really.

Agent Dave has 1st got us Mata and now Herrera! Almost got us Cesc last summer too.

Must be a really well liked lad among the Spanish teams, saw the video of the Spain team at the airport back from the WC and everyone was saying their goodbye's to each other. Xavi and Pedro came over to give DDG a hug and say Bye.

Gundogan played one game last year and has a chronic injury. Nobody in world football would sign him at the minute, not even for a reduced fee. He's not an option.

So we have a lot of midfielders, most of which are of a similar level.

Carrick Herrera Cleverley Fletcher Anderson Fellaini

You would have to think Carrick and Herrera are in Van Gaals plans but if i was any of the other 4 i would be a tad concerened as i would suggest 2 will be off.

Since he's just approved paying 30 million for him, I'd say it's a safe bet that Herrera is in Van Gaal's plans.

Apparently that Bilbao newspaper El Correo said the club is worried Muniain could follow Herrera to United

They know he's going to be Spain's #1 for a long time to come.

Lucky for us, he's such a massive muppet himself. Agent Dave, take a bow :D

I can see van Gaal finding roles for most of the midfielders we have. He doesn't need world-beaters in every position, he likes players who will serve a very specific purpose. I can see him using Fellaini, Cleverley and Fletcher as part of a rotation. Anderson I think will certainly be off.

I mis phrased that in the sense that He and Carrick will be good enough to play 6 and 8 and walk most teams.

and technically mate, this will be fergies signing if we want to go back to initial interest and contact between clubs.

They include the French Basque region too, CB Laporte is French Basque.

They also wanted to sign Jonathan Espericueta, who is Mexican, IIRC they said he was of Basque heritage, and his name proves it.

Come on lads, let's show Ander how much we care. A 250 page offering is sufficient I feel.

Gambit, assemble your men.

Yes that makes sense. The whole point I guess is Basque nationalism, i.e. they have more in common with Basque French people than non-Basque Spaniards.

Played football for Manchester United better than Fellaini has. What else could it possibly be? Or are you one of these new age weirdos that want a statistical evaluation of their performances?

Great reply.

No he's probably one of these new age weirdos who sees a completely stupid statement by a poster and rightly calls them out about it.

There is no way that you can statistically argue Anderson is better than Fellaini.

Fair enough, mate. The wording of your post was a little strange.

Recent reports are suggesting that he'll be on around the £145,000 per week mark.

If we really have bought this player, I really hope we either slightly overpaid or underpaid the clause, cuz, a 45% tax on top is just too much in my opinion.

Obviously we aren't going to pay it.

It's the same peoples, there is no difference between them.
