Yeah, hence why I said Carvalho also. Will be interesting to see what LVG has in store for us.
Carvahlo would work, same with Strootman who I think will end up as a more defensive orientated midfielder. It will be and I'm sure he'll bring some much needed balance to our squad and have players in their natural positions.

Maybe we can even get some discount for kids' flight tickets or something. He looks like 12 after all!

I don't know which one of the three here he is, but I'm impressed.

Brilliant news. You know a transfer is legit when BBC starts reporting it. Here's hoping nothing cocks up last minute.

No he hasn't. He's played in a midfield 3 for a single season. In that single season he had 10 bookings and 2 red cards.

Moved back into the hole he didnt have a problem with getting booked all the time. Just the 7 yellows...

That's where he was playing against us, that's for sure. Which was in 11/12.

By all accounts he's only been moved into a #10 role for Bilbao for the frst time in 13/14.

Methinks your maths is letting you down.

Anyway, club football aside, didn't he also play as CM for the Spain U-21s in the Euros?

So this is happening then? Was in with all the fun when the story broke last night and we thought it wasn't true.

But he is right when he says that he was a 10 for Zaragoza, personally i think that he is a natural 8 who is versatile enough to be a good 10 and a decent 6.

We need someone at Manchester airport, now!

BTW, those buses to the city centre take forever, not sure Herrera will be too pleased

It is a lie, he went to Bilbao as a player in the hole. He played a single season in a midfield 3 and then went back into the hole last season.

He was also my pick of the Spanish under 21 side in 2011 playing off of Adrian Lopez

Personally I thought Thiago Alcantara was the star of that side.

Bilbao have been using 4-3-3 or some variant of it for awhile before Valverde. I don't remember Herrera playing in the hole before last season for them. El Loco Bielsa had a point man with Munain and Susaeta on the flanks and a three man midfield, which Ander was part of. It was Valverde who started playing with a 10.

So to the important stuff..
Is he any good in FIFA14???
YES, sign him up, play him every game, by the second season the commentators and his ratings go through the roof. THE PASS MASTER, MIDFIELD MEASTRO, EVERYTHING GOES THROUGH HIM.

It might also be raining when he gets there. Might as well get him used to the idea of damp days.

On the EasyJet thing, my mate was going to the Netherlands, got the cheapest possible flight he could get and our man Robin was on the same flight.

This is set up perfectly to be announced during the England game.

Dare I say the forbidden words and suggest that he might possibly be a decent match to play with Fellaini? :nervous:

Well I've been saying, along with others, that Fellaini could thrive with a dynamic player who will give us drive from midfield. If Fellaini could hold and break up play, while Herrera gives us the drive from midfield, it could be an interesting partnership.

Stop trying to show off. I met Neil Buchanan from Art Attack at Sea World once, but you don't hear me going on about it.

I met LVG in Teeside Airport once - when he was manager of Twente. He read a number of magazines in WH Smith and didnt buy any.

His head is massive.

Valencia was one of the best wingers on Europe for those two and a half season. He was our best player on 2011-2012 and one of our best players on 2009-2010. On 2010-2011 he was injured for more than half of the season but after his injury he immediately became one of our most important players displacing the player of the season, Nani. We couldn't find a player as good as Ronaldo, but Valencia was a great player and I doubt that at that time we could have done better.

We didn't replace Tevez with Owen, we added Owen just for the numbers. We already had t good strikers, one of them regarded back then as the best/one of the best strikers in the world and the other was our highest transfer ever. Tevez was already a bench-warmer and scored only 5 goals in the league. That summer wasn't that bad.

The problem was later when it became clear that Hargreaves wasn't ever going to be fit and Anderson wasn't ever going to become better than shit but we still hoped that a miracle will happen and didn't sing someone to replace Scholes. And then we signed Young to replace Giggs and signed Smalling and Jones to replace Ferdinand and Vidic. While it is too early to talk for the last two, it is clear that the other replacements didn't go as good as we expected. Only De Gea was a great replacement.

Am not denying that valencia was good during that time period but he was a major step down from ronaldo and thus weakened our team. At that time, we could have signed robben/sanchez/hazard/ribery according to the rumors. All who would have helped fill the ronaldo size hole much better as they are similar in playing style than someone like valencia.

We had rooney and that it. As evidenced by us crashing out of the CL and losing the PL as soon as he got injured. Think it was the blackburn match where berba kept msising chances. You can call him our highest transfer ever but he never really fitted our style and was a major downgrade on tevez. The only reason tevez didnt start a lot that season was because SAF wanted to fit berba in. No way would he be a benchwarmer based on his quality as he showed yhe nexy season.

So for me that was the start of our decline but you are free to disagree. Opinions and all.

Exactly, flights these days are more like buses with easyjet, its whatever one has the most convenient time. Dont Spain play tonight? I hope Woodward takes him for a Nandos and for a british pint to watch the game.

He also played 4 matches in CM last season. That doesn't mean he didnt play 26 others in behind the striker as his main position, as it was when he moved to Bilbao in 2011.

To those at Manchester, watch out for helicopters in your area. Make sure it will be a safe don't play kites around carrington.
