I'm surprised the republicans are at a 24% approval rating, considering they nearly destroyed what is left of the world economy because of their arrogance.

I believe a majority share of that 24% will always back the GOP irregardless and the remaining portion are simply brainwashed by rightwing talk radio and "news" networks.

True, the same people who believe free healthcare for all is some kind of socialist nightmare and not actually beneficial to their long term health and finances. I mean what happened to the Republicans? They've always been fat cat capitalist bastards, but they were NEVER this far to the right or mental. Its Reagan that has caused this, he's almost dug them a grave of sorts for letting the extremists have a stronger say in the party.

Stupid is as stupid does.

Palin is ok to laugh at until you actually listen to her. Then you should be paid for the pain she inflicts.

Not sure what conclusion or symbolism to draw here. Stricter gun control? Teacher should've been armed? Made in USA . . .

Nevada Teacher Mike Landsberry Survived War. He Was Killed in Class.

The Nevada teacher killed protecting his students Monday was a veteran who served in Afghanistan. Jacob Siegel spoke with a member of Mike Landsberry’s unit about his courage and character . . .

Parents who don't secure their firearms. Your kid doesn't need to be aware you own a gun until he/she is 18. Why does your 13 year old son need to know you have a gun and where you secure it.

Just general practice to refer to office holders with their title even after they leave I believe, "Governor Romney" throughout the campaign, "President Clinton" etc.

Grayson had the balls to say what everyone else is thinking.
Funny to see Rancid Prepubescent appealing to Black voters....

err here is a hint Preshit....you need to allow them to vote instead of dreaming up new voter id laws to cage them.

Maher had a great monologue on Friday about the minimum wage

Dawkins was on the show too. As was some guy named Maajid Nawaz, a former Islamic radical. Extremely articulate and intelligent guy, spoke a lot of sense.

That's the bind that the US is in at the moment, they've trashed wages for years and hence killed consumer demand which was the engine of the economy.

Yep. And the point that a low minimum wage is essentially the government subsidizing highly profitable companies is a great one. Never thought about it like that.

Anyone else seen Inequality for All, a film made by Robert Reich, former Labor Secretary and current UC Berkeley professor? Both parties could use his kind of sense.

You say it's a bind, but isn't it exactly what the legislators, funded by corporate lobbyists, have been aiming for? Maybe the people will realise they've been hoodwinked and do summat about it, but I doubt it. They'll just keep blaming immigrants/gays/poor people/Muslims etc.

The people with the money are very happy with how this has turned out.

Well I was looking at it from the point of view of the man in the street. When I first went to the US in the 80s your average Joe had a much better standard of living that his counterpart in Europe. That advantage seems to have been largely eroded (some time since I've been to the US mind). People are still lapping up the American Dream while in reality the fat cats are getting even more of the cream.

when the Democrats eventually take over all 3 branches of power, the pendulum will swing teh other way. The country is already moving left. The key point will be when the New (non-white) majority takes over.

Yeah I know you were. It's true though. The fatcats figured out how to bleed the middle-class dry and it's worked beautifully. What's really impressive is how they've misled and misdirected the masses into blaming somebody else.

I'm optimistic that we'll have a new wave of progressivism like Red Dreams says and a major correction will occur.

He's the guy who orchestrated Tommy Robinson's departure from the EDL. He runs Quilliam and used to breakdance and Graf and is now a Lib Dem candidate. Interesting chap.
