'Syria are fighting a civil war, in which Syria are bombing Syria.'
I literally understood about 5% of what she said.
Just unbelievable she was voted in, just how? HOW?

I'm surprised the republicans are at a 24% approval rating, considering they nearly destroyed what is left of the world economy because of their arrogance.
I believe a majority share of that 24% will always back the GOP irregardless and the remaining portion are simply brainwashed by rightwing talk radio and "news" networks.
Oh dear..
Bizarre.
Oh dear..
Bizarre.
I can't believe I actually sat through all of that. What the actual feck?
This was posted on mediamatters earlier this week.

Not sure what conclusion or symbolism to draw here. Stricter gun control? Teacher should've been armed? Made in USA . . .

Nevada Teacher Mike Landsberry Survived War. He Was Killed in Class.
The Nevada teacher killed protecting his students Monday was a veteran who served in Afghanistan. Jacob Siegel spoke with a member of Mike Landsberry’s unit about his courage and character . . .
Just unbelievable she was voted in, just how? HOW?
Why do pundits still refer to her as Governor?
Came across this... http://www.nytimes.com/2013/10/20/sunday-review/are-the-roma-primitive-or-just-poor.html. Try substituting any other racial group in that headline and imagine the shitstorm.
That's the bind that the US is in at the moment, they've trashed wages for years and hence killed consumer demand which was the engine of the economy.
You say it's a bind, but isn't it exactly what the legislators, funded by corporate lobbyists, have been aiming for? Maybe the people will realise they've been hoodwinked and do summat about it, but I doubt it. They'll just keep blaming immigrants/gays/poor people/Muslims etc.
The people with the money are very happy with how this has turned out.
Well I was looking at it from the point of view of the man in the street. When I first went to the US in the 80s your average Joe had a much better standard of living that his counterpart in Europe. That advantage seems to have been largely eroded (some time since I've been to the US mind). People are still lapping up the American Dream while in reality the fat cats are getting even more of the cream.
Dawkins was on the show too. As was some guy named Maajid Nawaz, a former Islamic radical. Extremely articulate and intelligent guy, spoke a lot of sense.
