He should be starting today. He's never done bad with his opportunities but then he simply never gets rewarded or given a chance.

I like him much more than Forson who is reported to be starting. Obviously completely different player but Amad can play false nine to be fair

If we're going with Forson as a F9, I would like to see both him and Amad get a half each. I would definitely like to see 30min cameos from both players in the Forest game as well.

I'd rather Garnacho continues his good form on the RW over giving Amad the minutes tbh.

Obvious Ten Hag likes someone strong enough to hold the ball up top. Amad is a good false 9 for me but that’s not his strength.

I forgot the player the thread was for initially but I think we need to do a diallo - not allowed thread

Hopefully recoup £15m-£20m for him in the summer. Unlikely though. Crazy to think how much we spent on him.

I can't belive forson is starting ahead of Amad,he showed so much promise in Sunderland last year and with how bad our right wing situation is he should be starting or at least be 1st to come off the bench

Today’s starting XI pretty much means the of Amad’s career at Old Trafford. It is what it is.

I reckon EtH wants to leave as many players in the positions they've performed in as possible. Forson starting isn't so much of an issue for me, as he's a straight swap for Højlund. The worrying bit would be who comes in if/when the on-form Garnacho is subbed (probably Antony).
If EtH has learnt lessons, he'll try and manage Garnacho's minutes better than we did with Rasmus (not like we had much of a choice) and start subbing him around the 70th min when he starts obviously looking knackered.

For now, yes. But don't be surprised if the new football structure has a different opinion.

True, if ETH is sacked everything is on the table. And of course all we see is what happens in competition, not what happens in training. Maybe Amad is shit in training though it’s hard to imagine that that is the case.

We’ll find out shortly but isn’t it more likely Rashford will be playing up front than out wide?

Based on what? A championship loan?

Im not saying I don't rate him by the way, but over the top infatuation with players is not foreign to the fans. Happens every time.

There is a ton we don't know about how he's training. Ten Hag is a manager who has no problem thrusting young players into games, but if Pellistri, Garnacho and maybe Forson could/are all getting gametime ahead of him, then there is very likely a valid reason for that. It could be his decision making, or physicality, or proactiveness off the ball. It could also be attitude related, who knows. He's basically just had a championship loan on his CV to go by, which shouldn't fill anyone with confidence beyond reasonable doubt.
Banished may have been a poor word choice... my bad.... but nevertheless hope he gets some more chances soon.

What different opinion? You can have whatever football structure you want but manager is the one who picks players. What do you think that new Dof will say to manager; "that player is good. Play him!".
For now Erik doesn't see Amad good enough. Is he right or wrong that is other topic.

When Forson came on against Wolves he played up front in place of Højlund, although Rashford had also gone off for Antony at that point I think.

As useless as I think Antony has been this season, it would be strange to start Forson instead of him if Rashford was going central. It feels like he wants to keep Rashford and Garnacho in the positions where they've been doing well recently.

Guess we'll find out in a few minutes.

I wouldn't go that far quite yet. We still don't know for sure who the manager will be next season, so then it could be a blank slate for anyone.

Man Utd 1:2 Fulham
Looked more dangerous in 10 minutes than Antony all season

A diabolical decision by ten Hag not to start Amad, who when subbed on very late looked pretty amidst a sea of shit.

Who knows what Sir Jim will do with Amad but ten Hag clearly does not rate him, despite it being clear he’s vastly superior to Antony and Forson.

Was fine. Better than Forson for sure. Think he lost the ball maybe once?

Not concerned about the second goal.

He didn't even play that well but we actually looked like a football team when he came on because we finally realized that Old Trafford has a right side of the pitch that is actually in bounds that we can play football in. Yeah he could have done a bit better on the goal, but he was actually back in position and realistically Dalot should be taking control of that situation as the defender.

Probably won't see him again for another 3 months though.

100% on Dalot. He's the right back, he knows he should defend better than that. Least Amad tracked back.
Not at all. Amad’s run back was terrible and caused the confusion. Usually when a winger does that is because there’s an overlap. Amad just ran right in from of Dalot and past Iwobi to empty space. They were both absolutely fecking awful for it.

Tracking back isn’t worth shit when all it does is hurt your team.

Should have started today, looked composed and worked for the team. Him and Garnacho feeding Harry in the middle for the next match please

Not a top level player. I imagine he'll end up making a fine career for himself in Spain at a midtable club but he's not good enough for us. Was ok today, absolutely nothing special, but his fanclub here is odd to me. He's never shown anything to merit it at PL level.

It’s just nice to see someone make a tidy pass….and then low and behold…feckin move

Atrocious for their goal alongside Dalot.
You ever tried sprinting, putting the breaks on and trying to shift your momentum? It’s just physics, nothing either could do especially at the speed it was happening. People thinking otherwise have probably never done any exercise in their life never mind played a sport.

Anyway actually played quite well when he came on, Bruno should have slipped him through and then there were two other oppertunities to tee it up for him that we ignored. Actually looked composed on the ball and like he had a clue as to what to do when he got it and where to move to receive the ball.

The two cameo appearances he has made he’s looked better than some of our other players so must not do it in training for Erik to overlook him.

Would you deny that Amad is better than Antony, Sancho and Forson? And given Rashford’s dire performances this season, Rashford as well?

Amad is not be confused with prime Messi, but he’s clearly the best option we have right now at RW.

Terrible performance and at fault for 2nd goal, proved Ten Hag was right to not start him as he's terrible on the defensive end and not good enough offensively.

No he’s not. Garnacho is.

Garnacho is a better RW option by a distance. And I would probably say Antony also is, unpopular though that may be (and much as I don't rate Antony). I think Amad will turn out to be a nothing player

The kid has played about 40 minutes combined all season after coming off a long injury. We give other players months of playing off form before judging them so I think it is only fair to judge him after a couple of performances in an actual team. He actually added structure by being a presence on the right wing which transformed our attack simply by spacing things out. We have no good options apart from Garnacho who is already our best left winger, so I see no reason to rush into any decisions with Amad.
