Diallo looked REALLY fast, especially when pressing.
Yeah I clocked that. There was sprint he made to close down early on where his pace looked insane. There was no one near him and he didn’t reach the target but it was like he was on fast-forward.

Yeah this was my thought but he did look a lot quicker than I expected. His technical game looks top notch, but so did the likes of Januzaj, Angel Gomes etc, if he is rapid then he'll definitely have more of a chance of becoming an elite level player.

I think Amad looks to make the simpler passes and a lot quicker release than the two you mentioned. He doesn't seem to dwell on the ball as much unless he is double-teamed or trying to create separation. Ole's always going on about 'attacking faster' -- I think Amad's attribute of quick forward release passing will fit right in. (Pogs too can hold on to the ball a tad too long only to encourage pressure.)

Stayed discipline in his defensive movement. Made a neat dribble with nice control of the ball then got fouled. Made a good run on James goal and could have had a tap in. Fumbled a chance to make an impression in a 1vs1 situation and showed his disappointment after. No more no less. Looks a player.

yeah everyone’s entitled to an opinion and an experience but you said for United...which implied you were talking on behalf of the entire fan base.

come on. You don’t have to say “in my bloody opinion” every time. It’s bloody obvious it’s subjective, and my thoughts.

get a grip, no one speaks for the “entire fanbase”.

Didn't spend enough time on the pitch - but had a good run which could have been a tap in if James had put the ball across the box instead of scoring himself. Quiet debut.

fecking hell...This Video is Maradonaesque...
He clearly has immense natural talent.

Does anybody already know how his striking of the ball is? Didn't see much of that in the youtube Videos.

From what I've seen, he's not exactly Ronaldo. I think he will be a curler, and that will probably be good enough because he has so many skills at other things. I don't see him smashing in goals from distance with power but that's just my gut feeling and from what I've seen in 4-5 games.

When he does start playing more minutes for the senior team, I expected his take-ons, and most times fouled to be up there with the likes of Grealish and Zaha (and formerly Hazard).

We’ve not had a player like that in years. Exciting.

Formerly Hazard? Has he changed his name? Eddie Izzard perhaps

Because he takes short steps he’s almost misleading in how quick he can accelerate. He’s quite smart in the way he sort of stands off at a safe distance so the defenders think they’ve got time, then he absolutely blasts at them. Similar to the way he won the ball against liverpool.

but ‘for United it will always be’....I only really watch United or care much about United...funnily enough I was at Rooneys England debut and that still stands out as watching a very special player....but I don’t really consider national team debuts so much or players of other clubs debuts....hence why your wording is confusing.

because players from outside United were also mentioned.

anyway... moving on. As no one wants to read this exchange (in my bloody opinion!).

This thread is cringe worthy, comparisons with Maradona and Hazard and he has barely kicked a ball in professional football. Hopefully he turns out to be a player for us however we have had plenty of talent in the past that hasn’t reached expectations, let’s not pile on the pressure just yet.

Exactly, he's surpassed those players already and it's likely we're seeing a player who won't ever be surpassed as long as football exists.

I for one will be massively dissapointed if he doesn't turn out the next Maradonna

From what I seen he is much more a creator than a great striker of the ball.

Kind of like Grealish

Would be careful before comparing him to a football god.

I was just refering to the famous maradona warmup video from his neapel time. It honestly reminded me of it hehe. Am not able to post links unfortunately.

He's obviously nowhere near of the most talented player of all time in general.

We already have Rashford as that type of winger so i'm happy if Diallo can bring other attributes into the squad.

What I liked about him from the short cameo is that he gets into the box for tap in’s, I’ve got a feeling this kid is going to be really good and score many goals.

Yes, his movement when James scored his goal stood out to me too. He really attacked the back post to get a tap in if it needed it. Hopefully that's a real aspect to his game as it's something that our other forwards don't do enough.
