He looks way too talented from what we have seen to offer zero in training.

Also by all reports a hard working player.

I wouldn't loan him except maybe to Dortmund if they where interested.

Yeah discount for Jadon and we will give you the chance to get Amad some proper gametime

Exactly. Other than that specific loan I'd personally rather keep him.

Said it many times but given the chance I see him displacing James fairly easily and I assume Mata won't still be here.

Also the VDB on the wing experiment will hopefully never be seen again so

There is also talk Rashford will get his surgery after the Euros so the spaces will be there.

I think it's probably a question of physicality. Can't remember the exact game (Granada or Roma 1st leg?) where he got a few mins at the end. First penetrating run he made, he got flattened like roadkill.

Can't see Dortmund blooding him for us unless there was a substantial pot of gold at the end of it, though I get the idea. Would people take a part-ex as part of a Sancho deal? *hides*

Not a chance I'd sell him. Way too talented. Just pay up for Sancho. He is already discounted this summer apparently.

Amad is by far the best player in our under 23s. Obviously we have never seen him play there but I doubt James would do as good as Amad does in the 23s.

And I'm not trying to put down James it's just since they are competing for the same spot it's an apt comparison.

Amad just has so much quality. His slightness is his biggest flaw but I doubt he will ever bulk up much at all.

Some players simply don't need too. Di Maria is a twig and it's served him alright throughout his career.

He'll just need to get the minutes to get used to it.

Is a discount from a price no-one would pay really a discount?

No one needed him as much as we did/do.

The price they want this year is lower than what we bidded last summer.

30+ g/a for 3 seasons straight and he is only 21 years old.

Best winger we can buy. I get why we didn't budge but we'd probably be that much closer to city if we did.

Especially when our forward line was not in the best of form for long periods of the season.

Maybe that's why Jude ended up at Dortmund......

I would back Ole to pick Diallo if he was really as good as people here thinks. He joined at the second half of the season, in a moment that we have our most inform attackers in Pogba - LW, Cavani CF and Greenwood - RW. He needs time.

Seriously? Its comments like this that only illustrates the difference in the levels of football knowledge and intelligence between those in a football forum and that of a professional coach/manager.
Rooney was done by 2013, Moyes and LVG couldn’t see if. But there were a few in 2013 on the web who said it and the voices increased after every season.

So actually... managers sometimes are blinded by reputation, loyalty, player power, or simply fear of dropping a big name.

Big debut tonight for the kid! Really excited to see how he gets on.

ahem also @Mainoldo I will PM you my bank details. :D good bet!

Remember this day, this is the day when Daniel James knew he wouldnt start for Man Utd any other game.

Looking forward to this. I’ve been a little disappointed at some of the clamour for another young right winger before he’s even stepped on the pitch. We obviously have high hopes for him, and the process of harvesting that needs to take place over the next couple of years with him getting football here. Otherwise there was simply no point in spending on him, we should all just agree that we should simply have come back when he was worth 100m and be done with it.

Obviously delighted he is playing and hope he does well but just want to say if he doesn't it's important to remember this is a team of back ups who has never played together.

On its own it no reason to write him off or say he needs a loan etc.

the Caf doesn’t make long team judgements about players based on one game?

Man Utd 1:2 Leicester
Very good first half. Not really involved in the second.

To me he proved he can contribute. Especially when you factor in thats him playing in a game with our second string.

Very good at hassling to win the ball back.

1 goal and 1 Assist at senior level in the two games he played a big chunk of minutes.

Really good start to his career.

Has some good strength for a small guy.

he’s not going to burst into the scene, but looking forward to seeing more of him next season.

He's not ready yet clearly, but he's got a lot of potential I feel. Decent debut, he didn't get involved that much but that's to be expected with young players

I was hamstrung by playing with other out of form players (other than Greenwood) against a solid top 4 side. If he had Pogba, Bruno and Cavani with him the whole game he'd have made a bigger impact. There's definitely something special there though

1. Factor in that he's playing in a much weakened side with players unfamiliar with each other and out of position.
2. Factor in that his level of performance should be viewed in light of the above playing against his favour.

It was a very good first half by him, and, let's face it, it's not his fault that he didn't have an equally good second half. The entire team was much worse in the second half so his individual performance was always going to suffer as a result.

He didn't look weak. He made some good driving runs. He got an assist. His pass selection and interplay was general good. A couple of dispossessions, but again, that can be attributed to inexperience and him being a player that takes more risks with dribbling.

He's earned more minutes on the back of this, and the Milan game. The fixture scenario has forced Ole's hand, just like how the injury to Martial forced Ole's hand vs. Milan. I think there's enough there for 15 mins here and there now in some semi-pressured games.

He is not ready to start week in week out no

But he is clearly ready to contribute.

Like his previous appearances you can see he's got something about him, encouraging signs

Much more unpredictable than James and this is exactly what we need up there. Wasn't looking too scared, tried risky tackles and runs.

I was slightly underwhelmed tbh.
He's technically gifted but is nowhere near ready. He needs to be loaned out from a couple of years IMO.
