And you seem to revel in the role of santimonious top-fan. I'm sorry if I get emotional about something I love. I am not as capable of detaching myself from it and take a "we'll wait and see" attitude, as you clearly are.

He can take all the time he likes. That is his prerogative. Just as it is mine to call him a knob.

He is disrupting his own preparations and his countrys by maintaining this ridiculous stance.
thats right if he wanted this would be over already hes the one that keeps this shit going.
hes acting like the diva he hi,hes loving the atention hes getting.

Whats their to make? Stick with the Champions of Europe while your young or go to a over-rated team? Decision is pretty clear cut to me.

£££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££

He wants to be King of Madeira, the peri peri is on Ronnie.

I never said you didn't have the right to criticize him.

But for him, it's about his business, not United's. And why would you expect it to be any different?

Yes, I'd expect it to be a little different because we are United, if you like. We have a Manager who works for the club for over 20 years which is unusual in football business, and we don't have players coming and going as they like. So yes, I have issue with this man and this matter! Why you keep taking his side justifying his action and behaviour is beyond me!

Yes, he can do anything just for himself, but he also can rot in hell if he is harming United business!

How so?

From what I can see they've directed their comments specifically at Real Madrid's campaign in the media. Which seems perfectly reasonable to me.

About time someone stood up to those cnuts.
Perhaps we have misunderstood each other. I interpreted your comment about 99% of this being about fans and journalists jumping to conclusions, which to me sounds like the "Pipe down you muppets there's no story here" argument, which has croppped up about 213 times in this thread.

Personally I'm not outraged at Ronaldo's (in)actions, but I am disappointed. But my point was that if being upset or thinking he wants out is a case of the weaker-minded among us jumping to conclusions, then that puts SAF and CQ squarely in the muppet camp.

And if you think their comments are only about Madrid's behavior, I don't think Ferguson's bit about the Glazers being willing to sit Ronaldo in the stands all year fits in to that theory very well.

If you have any reply, I'll try to catch it about thirty pages down the line. Time for bed now.

He must be out of his fecking mind. If he turns his back on United, he will never be sorry. He will only go to Madrid if he is to destroy his career. Barcelona would be better as they are similar to Man United but any other is his downfall. THanks for this season but if he wants to feck off to Madrid, we won't be sorry.

Hopefully Fergie shows him the door before he can claim he went on his own terms. I am absolutely furious at this twat.

I would love it if we replaced this arrogant self proclaimed another special one portuguese disloyal backstabbing player with Ronaldinho.
A lot has been made of Ronaldinho but he reached a level 2 years ago not many have reached in the last 20 years.

I am also confused why we are not after these players we could make good use of. Eto'o, Dos Santos, Adriano, Aguero, Benzema etc as we are European Champions right now and not many would refuse to play for us and would snap the opportunity, if asked.

"Top-fan"? How does that work exactly?

I try to use a bit of logic and objectivity in assessing the situation, as opposed to running around with my hands in the air. I also try and empathise with the main protagonists involved, so I can get a better handle on the likely outcome.

This doesn't make me any more, or any less, of a fan than anyone else in this thread.

It will, however, prevent me from saying stuff that I might regret, at a later date.

Fence-sitter, why not though?

A calculated stance is something to be applauded.

Look at what happened post World Cup, a few people changed their minds there...

No room for sentiment redevil2 - that's the fan's domain.

No Way.when he was a kid he played for Nacional those are Maritimos biggest rivals if he were to buy one it would be Nacional.

Kinell. We don't know or care about shite like that mate!

And what is your logic telling you? Basically that he is being a bit of a tosser and keeping eveyone on tentahooks whilst he allows his already bulging ego to grow even more.

You carry on being logical and objective. I'd rather speak my mind. I am not going to moderate my feelings for the sake of not cauing offence. If you are not annoyed by Ronaldo's flirtations and general demeanor throughout this saga, then you are in a minority Pogue.

I've got the solution

Sell him for £200 million to MSI then Activate Casillas, Ramos and Messi's minimum release clauses that all players in Spain have:lol:

And where do we stand in this so called agreement.

We stand having a contract being breached by the other party and a Spanish club who is aiding and abetting the breach. And possibly a cause of action (in money terms) and for a formal complaint to the Authority for possible punishment of the wrongdoers in question.

If he is going, hope he goes now. So we have enough time and money to get someone who is going to be better than him.

I know you can't properly respond to my post! Why not just say nothing.

WTF? You're just spouting a load of shite mate. How else can I respond to your naive rambling rubbish about Ronaldo owing United everything he can do in his power to secure them as large a fee as possible?

My logic is telling me the following:

  1. He might well be tempted by a move but his only confirmed statements so far have been to say he's going to stay (backed up by some comments from his old dear)
  2. The media are milking this for all it's worth
  3. Everyone is on tenter-hooks, to varying degrees (which is fair enough, this is new ground for United fans, we've never been a selling club)
  4. Nonetheless, every professional footballer is entitled to make up his own mind about where he wants to play football next season. At the risk of coming across "all Calderon" slavery was done away with a long time ago.
  5. A lot of caftards are going off half-cocked a result and either slating him unfairly or digging out old grudges from WC 2006
  6. A significant but vocal minority are being total fecking drama queens about the whole thing.

Its childish at this stage to try to be funny about the whole affair! Its not about panicking about his move any more. It's crystal clear that he wants to move, and we don't want to sell. There is no need to try to take the matter lightly like you did there!

Life's a piece of shit, when you look at it...

Rams, keep those stories coming hombre. Doing a stellar job there.

Everybody should calm down. Lets just wait and see. Its really stupid on his behalf to remain silent. But thats what he chose to do, and we have to wait to see what he says. This is not about him leaving I'm confident he's not, its about if he will show United the respect the club deserves and commands.

So what have i missed over night? Has he actually said he wants to feck off yet or are people still acting like clowns?

It is all fair enough Pogue. I agree with your logic. But what drives everyone crazy is the silence. You know full well it is not THIS hard to make a decision. He has seemingly been mulling over this for months as that's how long the rumours have been floating around. How long does it take to decide?

As for the 06 grudges. Those are nonsense. He did nothing wrong. But now the ire is fully justified in my opinion. He is taking the piss out of the club and fans.

He's off...
FRI Jun 06 01:01PM

Unless we have all read the signs wrongly and in fact he was just doing it all along to gain a bit of attention, this weekend Cristiano Ronaldo is going to announce his wish to join Real Madrid. Of course he is: if he had no intention of courting the Spanish champions he would have stated simply and clearly a month ago that he was happy to stay at Manchester United. But he didn't because all along he has wanted to go play for the team his mum, his godfather, his agent and his Uncle Tom Cobley and all have been dreaming of him joining since he conducted his first step-over at the age of six months. For the finest player to pull on a red shirt in a generation, United was only ever a stepping stone to reach his ultimate destination. The moment the team in white came in from him, there was to be no holding him. He was off.

The intriguing thing is what happens next. If Ronaldo thinks it will just be a case of contacting his bank to send a wheelbarrow round to the Bernabeu to pick up his first wage packet, he has another think coming. Even with a promised fee of £70million, United are not going to make it easy. If they don't want to sell, they are under no obligation to do so. Alex Ferguson has already stated that he is happy to let the player "rot in the reserves" rather than let him go to Madrid. And since he is under contract for three more years that is an awful lot of rotting to do. He might be decidedly whiffy at the end of that spell.

United have seen a steady stream of players heading westwards out of Manchester to Madrid these past few years. David Beckham, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Gabriel Heinze have all headed there since 2003. But, as Ferguson has been at pains to point out, he no longer required the services of that particular trio. He was happy for them to go. Pleased to bank the cheque and move on. Ronaldo is a very different case. Not only is his skill, his panache, his bravery crucial to United's style of play (as anyone would be who scores 42 goals in a season) Ferguson will not wish to see his multitude of talents being employed for a direct rival. Which, in these Champions League dominated times, is what Madrid are, as much a direct rival to United as Liverpool, Arsenal or Manchester City. Actually, rather more than Manchester City. So the United manager will do everything he can to stand in the way of such a move. In 22 years at Old Trafford, Ferguson prides himself on never letting go a player he wanted to keep. The man has a way of getting what he wants.

So if Ronaldo is obliged to stay against his wishes what then? About ten years ago, Prince, in a bid to release himself from his long-term record contract, changed his name to some incomprehensible hieroglyphic and continually had himself photographed with the word "slave" scribbled on his knuckles. George Michael too spent an age trying to extricate himself from his deal with Sony, refusing to produce any material for them even though he was contractually obliged to do so. Can we expect the same of Ronaldo? Will he have himself pictured in the stands at Old Trafford during matches in a set of handcuffs? Will he fling the biggest sulk since Nicolas Anelka was born? Will he go on perpetual strike? In which case, what would happen if United had a terrible injury crisis, say Nani fell over his own ego in training, what then? Would Ronaldo be expected to step in (or rather step over) as cover?

It could be interesting times ahead in the court of the Lollipop King. But whatever happens, United fans need to start getting used to this unpalatable truth: unless he really is just the biggest tease on the planet and all this dallying with Madrid was just a bit of a giggle, that magnificent goal he scored in Moscow in the Champions League final was the last one Ronaldo will ever net for the club.

You really have a problem with logic, do you??

What I meant was why you kept taking his side giving him excuses to justify his action is beyond me! You seem to think he has done the right thing for himself and it is acceptable.

He owed United nothing, but that doesn't mean I can't show my sentiment on the whole matter!

Since you have been living in a cave, you are the clown! Spend some time reading posts helps!
