ALL Ronaldo's future/comments/speculation

He is the best player in the world. Some players have 'it'. It was a certainty once he got his first champions league goal, the flood lights would open.

The zidanes, ronaldos of this world are respected because they scored in all games including finals.

Our Ronaldo is no different.

He has almost everything and there is no question he won't do something special in the euro's and next season with United.

Also a special mention, his heading ability is out of this world. For someone that isn't a striker, I've never seen anyone of his kind that is such a threat.

He will sign. I'd disagree, it should be before the euros as if it's after he'll keep being pestered by the press.

Now i'm not fond of the boy at the minute, but once he signs it'll be fantastic. The announcement in a few weeks, gets peoples attention. So I'd guess that's when he'll sign

To be honest the lad is getting on my tits. I should feel adoration towards him after such a season, but his egotism and constant flirtation with the Spanish press is disrespectful to the fans who pay his exorbitant wages and who supported him when the rest of the country was baying for his blood.

We would miss him if he left, but with the sort of money being talked about we could get in two world class players and not really feel the pinch that much.

If Ronaldo does go to Madrid, he will end up regretting it and his career will stagnate. If it happens then I will have a wry little smile on my face. The bloke conducts himself with absolutely no dignity whatsoever in these press comments and it is not behaviour fitting of this club. His constant stream of contradictory and loaded comments suit the club he is angling to move to down to the ground.

I for one won't be celebrating in "2-3 weeks time" when there is "news" if he has signed a new contract. What is to celebrate? Being fecked up the arse for another £20000 a week by a little tosser who genuinely believes his own hype and thinks he is a bigger figure than the entire club. He is nothing on Wayne Rooney in this respect.

How is it different than Keane when he wanted 100k or Rio few seasons ago?

He maybe not likeable but if he gives us a few more moments like that final most people will accept that. he will never be bigger then the club, we all know that.

But we knew he wanted to play in spain. He's been mischevious but we'll see. If he was THAT bad, then Sir Alex would sell him in a heartbeat.

If he wants to go madrid in years to come, it won't be surprising. Ego attracted to ego. As long as he honors his contracts and keeps putting in the effort on the pitch - because that's where it matters then whatever happens happens

There's no question he's been a prick about it but so have madrid. I imagine he's taking alot of enjoyment teasing their club but in tern he's taking his eye of the ball and being selfish. We know that

But again in terms of the football, Ronaldo signing a new contract would be great news

How is it different than Keane when he wanted 100k or Rio few seasons ago?

Rio got abused by the fans didn't he?

Keane is different. He just conducted himself with more class. The issue was wage structures and all that polava and once United pulled their fingers out of their arses there was never going to be any doubt about Keano staying here. And he never came out in the press with rubbish like: "There will be news in three weeks. I don't make anyone promises".

What the feck is with the idea of offering him a new contract after just one season of signing a new contract anyway, you can bet your life that this shit will happen all over again come the end of next season if he stays. He might deserve a new and improved contract after the season he's had but that's a different matter.

Nope, Keano just basically come out and said break the wage structure or I am walking. Only thing different was he was Keano, he could have fecked everyone's mum and it would still be all ok.
Rio got abuse because he had cheek to ask for more money after the drug suspension when everyone at the club backed him.

All this publicity is not hi fault anyway. At his last press conference, there were specific instructions not to ask anything Madrid/United related. But spanish cnuts would not let go.

I keep reading tha he isn't a striker yet everytime I watch him play he positions himself as a striker would

Against Chelsea in the CL final it seemed to me that Tevez was playing back in midfield looking to run onto the end of things and Ronaldo was playing as a striker.

The only reason you get away with saying he is a winger is the fluidity of your squad which allows players to interchange throughout the match with no effect on performance. Meaning he can start as a winger yet after 5 minutes move up front until the end of the game.

One of the broadsheets also has a thing on there match report where it shows playing positioning through out the match, everytime I have seen that he spends most of his time up front playing as a striker.

Well against chelsea he was on the wing but if we play 4-3-3 he's quite high up the pitch and finds himself in these position because he's always looking to score.

He just has that knack. He probably likes scoring more then assisting lol

Yep, that's pretty much how I feel about the situation.

Cockney Hammer if you think offers of £45 million should be considerred for the finest player in the world then your off your rocker sunshine.

Ronaldo will leave United eventually but not this Summer or the next, no chance.

Get back to your own shitty WHU forums anyway, leave us to bask in our glory.

:nono:

If United lost Ronaldo but bought Benzema would we be worse off, better off or the same? Dismiss the fact they play in different positions.

We'd play in a different way, we'd probably have money left to buy a winger like Ben Arfa then. With young, talented players like Nani, Anderson, Rooney and Tevez we could fill the void left by Ronaldo, I believe.

This reminds me of one of the post World Cup posts. Have you seen any of these interviews? Or just believing what the tabloids say? Whenever I've seen Ronaldo give an interview he strikes like a thick footballer who doesn't know how to handle the press and tries to give neutral answers which suits the rags perfectly. No point getting wound up about it.

Ronaldo will want to move to Spain eventually and we can't blame him. He's Portuguese and Real Madrid is the equivalent of what Manchester United is to a northwest lad like Rooney.

I think he is told to get up front, whatever ball comes to him he knows what to do to get a shot in whereas Rooney and Tevez' finishing isn't the same.

It makes more sense to have them supplying Ronaldo rather than the other way around.

It'd make sense. I think it's just where he starts off from. When Ronaldo is in a two he looks alittle lost but in a three or starting from the wing, he seems to do the forward role better.

Most people would still consider him a winger though his games evolved. It's just absurd portugal have no decent strikers and yet this guy scored 42 this season lol.

they must be doing their head in.

the wheels that turn united will keep turning with or without ronaldo over the years we have heard the same thing time & time again, how will we replace robson, cantona keane beckham van nisteelroy etc etc etc ronaldo will go IF and when united decide not real madrid milan or barca.

as the season has gone on he has been pushed further forward. But in the league we usually play 4-4-2 with Ronnie as RW. in CL 4-3-3 with him upfront.

Why do you guys keep buying into this media circus bullshit....

Put it this way... If he leaves good luck to him, if he stays good luck to him!! I'm feed up on commenting on the same bloody comments that he made last week, last month or yesterday! Skysports news also need to get a life!

Got to laugh at some of you eejits getting led by the nose by the media.

How many times do you cnuts have to keep being reminded that he is negotiating a new contract and is doing this at the eipcentre of a media shit-storm, being generated by Real Madrid and the fecktards at Marca and AS?

Here are some simple facts.

  • Ronaldo and his agent are negotiating a new contract.
  • While this is going on he cannot commit himself to the club, as this will weaken their hand in the negotiations.
  • He is the most talked about footballer in the world and attracts press attention like nobody else.
  • As part of this attention he is being repeatedly asked the same question and repeatedly gives the same answer, the only answer he can give.
  • This answer is spun every which way by the Real Madrid press and chewed up and spat out by the English press too.
  • Real Madrid are doing this to unsettle the player and, more importantly, to make the Real fans think that they actually have a chance of signing the BPITW (a key issue in forthcoming elections at Real)
  • The English press know that the same speculation will sell shit-loads of papers to panic-stricken United fans.
  • This is going to continue until he signs that new contract and will kick off again, every transfer window thereafter.

Some of the bruised emotions on here are laughable. This is going to continue - almost constantly - so long as we he remains at this club (which is another couple of years, at least) so I suggest everybody tries to be a bit less hysterical when they read these stories in the press, or risk turning this place into one long, spastic whingefest.

Calderon is a bastard, so is the media who would love to see Ronaldo go to Madrid. One day there is a story about Ron confiriming that he's staying, the next day he will decide in "two or three weeks". The only, absolute only person that I trust in this matter is Sir Alex and I believe him when he says that Ronaldo won't leave in the next few years.

we will get 3 more seasons out of him, tops

but we need to win more trophies next season to keep him interested

incidentally, 3 more seasons is what Fergie will do too, then he'll be 70

then we're royally fecked

the ones with weak/whiny/moany constitutions better get used to it in advance

Fergie said the same thing GB. Ronaldo will be here for another 2 seasons atleast. That really should be end of discussion. And as he said, if the coming years we continue to dominate in EUROPE, he won't want to leave.

There's no smoke without fire. Certain players over the years like Henry, Vieira, Drogba and now Ronaldo are always the ones who have been linked with moves to foreign clubs. They are the types who will not kill the speculation out of hand, they always give the rumours more life.

Ronaldo has, on more than one occasion, indicated that he wants to play abroad in the future. I have no doubts that he has been giving the Spanish press what they want to hear because even SAF has been talking about how we have to improve our European trophy count to keep Ronaldo here in 2-3 years time. feck that. It sounds really small time when we talk about needing to win things and elevate ourselves to keep ONE player at the club. If Ronaldo feels that he is not at a massive club or he feels that Madrid is bigger then let him leave. I am all for us winning more trophies, but not for the benefit of keeping an egotistical shit happy.

People always go mental and talk about people being irreplaceable, but it never plays out like that. Players come and go and I agree with Sarni that we would adapt our team and be just as succesful. The lad is making himself the centre of attention and disrupting what should be a happy time for all fans and people connected with the club.

I have always felt Ronaldo will stay as long as SAF stays....thats why it is important the supporters and Manchester United make him feel This is where he belongs....lets remember even Giggs and Keane wanted to play abroad at some time....Ronaldo is still only 23...he may settle down and feel England is his home.

I don't think anyone will dispute with you the notion that Ronaldo will still be here next season. But his conduct fecking stinks in all honesty. It is perfectly possible to get an improved deal without being a little tosser about it and constantly courting the media attention.

its a repeat of the bullshit that happened after the WC 2006....he wants more more money...so what...and we will be driving him away if more tards who claim to be United supporters turn on him to the delight of the scum from Liverpool and ABUs elswhere..

remember SAF has never had to sell a player he did not want to....

If Ronaldo leaves, that does not leave us royally fecked. I have faith in the ability of CQ to keep things running on an even keel. I was never an advocate as him as our next manager, but I just reckon that he has been such an integral element of our success and his appointment would keep things ticking over with minimal disruption (well as minimal as it can be when a manager steps aside after a quarter of a century).

This epidemic of Iberian/Brazilian players wanting to eventually play in sunnier climes is one of the drawbacks of our recent transfer policy. These players are not "lifers" like the likes of Scholes and Giggs. And before anyone says they were one offs, I must point to the likes of Rooney, Carrick and Hargreaves and say that I believe they will happily stay at our club for the rest of their top level careers.

The only thing that is fecking me off right now is how he seems to change his mind from one interview to another.

well we cannot go back to just having English or at least British players can we?
The modern reality is we Have to have players from countries that are at the top of the world game....and while the home countries will always produce world class players like Rooney......there are a lot more of such players available from countries that are at the top of the world game.

Well unfortunately for you then, UK does not have enough talent that we can have a UK 11.

It was just an observation guys. I think this current stand off with Ronaldo indicates why it is important to have a core of players who can really associate themselves with the club.

I know Ronaldo says it, but I sometimes wonder whether he realises just what a great club he is at. As for his, "Manchester is not a great city" comments, all I would say here is that he is wide of the mark. Sure, the climate may not be to his liking but the city itself is vibrant and fantastic.

He will have another 10 years at the top. Professionally he should want to play for the best team in the best league in Europe. Surely going to a currently weak La Liga represents a regression on his part? He can live in the sun for the rest of his fecking life after he retires!

I would say to him, don't forget the shitehole you were brought up in.

Players like him might not be as loyal, it really depends on the person. What it does though is show these types of players that if you come to our club we can make you the best player in the world

Alot of people would say Ronaldo isn't loyal which is fair enough but 5 years isn't that bad and I think we just have to enjoy it while it lasts

It would be sweet for him to be voted worlds best player this time and then we have something we never had before. For all the bad it brings, it does open doors and oneday Ronaldo will leave probably

But it would be nice to have someone who is universally admired as it will attract other players, who'll want to play with him.

But this club plans years in advance.

It's just something we have to accept, that sunnier climates appeal to these people but winning european trophies, like fergie said helps.

Players still play to win. We want to show we can do it again and again and then maybe we'll see a change of attitude

I would say personally i'm not pleased at his attitude because he's setting a bad example of how to represent yourself to the likes of nani, anderson etc.

However I'm sure he loves the club, but some people have a funny way of showing it. I hope the contract get's done and dusted asap so we can hold him to it as I don't think he will leave the club under a cloud in the end.

I wouldn't be suprised if when he does talk, he lays out his plans. We'll just have to get on with it

Imagine Rooney going to Italy playing for AC Milan when he was 18. You can bet anything that one day he would want to play for a big English club. It was same with Hargreaves, he was already at Bayern. A team who actually have a better European record than us.

For the Portugese, playing in La Liga still tops everything else. Ronaldo won't end his career here.

i doubt it.

SAF wouldn't leave us in such a state.

well lads...my immediate concern is next season...and I will bet anything Ronaldo will be here as Bobby Charlton and SAF have said....

cant wait to see the scum from Liverpool fighting for 4th and 5th place again...

the Treble this time for us eh lads ;)
