ALL Ronaldo's future/comments/speculation

What angers me the most is that he hasn't shown the fans who sing thier heart out everysecond the respect they deserve.

He has the responsiblity of being honest and to say comments that will just spin the press around and get him a lot of media attention is a little pathetic whether or not he was tricked into it.

I've never heard one BS story about Rooney or Tevez, credit to them for keeping thier heads in the right place.

Im beginning to take the same view and in fact was discussing this exact point with my father only a few minutes ago!

There are players that want to be at Manchester United, that realise that as long as they give their undivided commitment, then the club will always reward then handsomely and provide them the best possible facilities and platform to express themselves from. Giggs, Scholes, Neville, Rooney, Evra, Tevez, even Brown understand this. And they are all treated very fairly.

Ronaldo has no doubt contributed massively to our success these past 2 years but I can easily imagine a hugely successful Manchester United without him too. Spent wisely, 70 million quid would make our squad EVEN BETTER!

If Ronaldo wants to go, let him. Its his huge loss as he is taking a step down to Madrid and will realise quickly that in a Galitco world, he made the biggest mistake he ever made. I'm fully confident we will continue our domination with or without him.

Fergie:

Ronaldo will not be leaving here in the next two years at least. He knows what’s best for him. When he becomes 25 or 26 he might have a different view and want something else out of life. And I wouldn’t be against him in that respect. What we’ve got to try and do is make sure we’re bigger. We can’t rest on what happened in Moscow. We’ve got to make ourselves bigger."

:D

All the logic points to Ronaldo being given a hefty pay rise (And let's face it he should be the highest paid player in the world - no one can argue with that.). When Beckham and Ruud went it was after (wrongly or rightly) SAF had frozen them out of the side and not made the noise about them staying like he is with Ronaldo. You don't hear a Scotsman offer to place a big bet on something unless he's sure!!!

 Would you even be able to get your hands on 100 million in cash? I'm pretty sure the banks wouldn't have that lying about

Madrid have apparently signed some sort of insurance deal just yesterday afternoon to protect them against the market fluctuations of the Euro versus Stirling.

Lot of fecking good it'll do the shouty, show off twats.

There isn't a club in Europe who isn't on our side in this. Madrid are a shower of classless cnuts who stamp their feet until they get their own way, and the feckers need to be told.

Big sacks of cash please.

I'm not so much against selling him anymore, he is quite annoying with his confusing interviews. He obviously doesn't love the club that much and has his heart set on a move to Real sooner or later.

It could be better to sell him after him having an incredible season and when he has a lot of years to run on the contract, also the fact that we have a great team even without him and have just won the CL and PL. Most of the players would LOVE to play for our club and Ronaldo is not irreplaceable.

listen to you lot ....he must be in the middle of contract negotiations and don't want to seem too eager in order to get the most out of the Glazers.
He has four years remaining on a very lucrative contract. There's a big difference between "contract negotiations" and "I know we already have a deal but give me more right now or I'll do one to Madrid".

Evra is involved in the first. Ronaldo the second. Yes, he's played phenomenally well this season and earned himself a bit of a raise. But to conduct negotiations through the media, in front of the world, is classless.

Cristiano Ronaldo: I want to stay

The Portuguese star is quite happy in England, despite the best efforts of Real Madrid to lure him to Spain
Jonathan Northcroft

CRISTIANO RONALDO’S intentions can seem as hard to read as one of his wobbling free kicks, but with a Champions League winner’s medal hung from his neck, things seemed clear as he left the Luzhniki stadium. He may have told radio reporters, “I don’t promise anything,” and been encouragingly ambiguous in discussion with foreign media, but the one definitive statement he made was about remaining at Manchester United. “I think so . . . ” he smirked before saying, in the tone of a wind-up merchant coming clean, “Nah. I want to stay. I want to stay.” It sounded like the bottom line.

The view that his star is doing no more than playing games over questions about his future is shared by Sir Alex Ferguson. Ronaldo signed his current contract before scoring 42 goals and being the key player in a season where United won the Premier League and European Cup. It may not be unreasonable for him to have the notion some kind of raise is due, even if he already earns £120,000 per week. Who doesn’t believe in performance-related pay? Ferguson is thought to believe recognition from United rather than a move to Real Madrid is Ronaldo’s endgame. He expects the Portuguese to still be a United player two years from now, Ferguson’s possible retirement point. Beyond that, keeping Ronaldo “is a challenge for the club”.

Ferguson also thinks that Ronaldo’s representative, Jorge Mendes, wants his client to remain at Old Trafford and away from Real, amid whose circus a player can easily be lost to another agent.

Ronaldo said: “I’m very happy here. Today I’m very happy. Tomorrow I’ll be happy again. And in August? I’ll be happy too. I’m happy all the time.

“Manchester is not the best place. But the club is fantastic. I prefer Portugal. It’s a better place. But England is my second home and I’ve been here five years.

“I’m part of the history of United. I’ve won the Premier League and the Champions League. My name is going to be written in the books. It will say Cristiano won all these trophies. For me that’s a great feeling. The team is young and we are growing. Next season is a new season and I want to enjoy that.”

Ferguson is “not bothered” about Ronaldo going off to the European Championships, where he will be beyond United’s supervision. But he remains deeply vexed by the activities of Real Madrid, whose president, Ramon Calderon, and coach, Bernd Schuster, keep up a steady drip of comments that raise the idea Ronaldo should move to the Bernabeu. “What Real Madrid are doing . . . ” said Ferguson, shaking his head. “They use Marca [the Spanish sports newspaper] and that’s why Fifa can’t do anything about it. Calderon can come out with statements like, ‘It’s up to the player’ and ‘Slavery was abolished years ago’. Is that not inflammatory? It’s intimidation of us, anyway. We’ve reported it to Fifa but Fifa don’t bother. I think Fifa just look at it and say, ‘Ach, it’s just what Real Madrid do’. It’s become accepted.” Marca, the Spanish sports paper, reported yesterday that Real Madrid were considering taking out insurance against fluctuating euro-to-pound exchange rates in case Manchester United were to sit down and negotiate a fee for Ronaldo.

this is all well and good, but, and i think SAF touches on this in the Sunday Times interview, what kind of message does that send to the rest of Europe? - that we sell our best players when they are at the top of their game to the highest bidder?

no fecking way.

The press keeps asking him the same questions and he keep giving them the same answers. Why are we bothered, again?

as i've always said, and boring also has said this a lot i believe, that ronnie will be here till 2010 world cup.

fergie just confirmedthat as well finally, that the challenge will be when he's 25 if we have to sell or if we can keep him. and hmm he'll be 25 in the summer of 2010.

that said, utd is bigger than any one person so we'll move on.

Cockney Hammer if you think offers of £45 million should be considerred for the finest player in the world then your off your rocker sunshine.

Ronaldo will leave United eventually but not this Summer or the next, no chance.

Get back to your own shitty WHU forums anyway, leave us to bask in our glory.

I wish he would shout it and just say something like "I said everything I had to about his 1000 times before, next quesiton"

He wants a new contract and rightly so as he is the best player in the world. He is just keeping the board guessing with his sly answers, no chance he will leave.

Ronaldo will stay.

Just because he's playing the press for fools doesn't necessarily mean he's playing the club for them, too. SAF and Ronaldo might know full well what's going on (that Ronaldo will stay, and sign a new contract), but they don't want to announce it now and disrupt his Euro 2008 campaign, so they'll wait. That the media will come fawning and drooling along like seagulls to the trawler doesn't mean the club are being taken for a ride, too.

We don't know everything that goes on there; far from it.

Very good points. Hope they're true.

Real surprised by Ferguson crticism over Ronaldo

May 25 (Reuters) - Real Madrid have defended themselves against accusations from Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson that they were using underhand tactics to pressure Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo into joining them.

“I am really surprised to hear what he said about us. I don’t understand Ferguson,” Real president Ramon Calderon told sports daily Marca on Sunday.

“Real Madrid have conducted themselves exquisitely is this whole affair with Cristiano Ronaldo. We have always said that he is a player who has a contract and that Manchester United is not a selling club. That’s everything.”

Ferguson attacked the Spanish champions on Friday criticising their methods in trying to lure the 23-year-old to Spain by using the local media as their mouthpiece.

“Do you not think we’ve not had interest from big clubs around Europe about our best players? Of course, we have. But they don’t get into the nonsense (Real) get into,” Ferguson said.

“They think they can ride rough-shod over everyone, but they won’t do it with us.”

Ronaldo has added to the speculation with some ambiguous statements after Wednesday’s Champions League final victory.

The Madrid-based sports newspapers have had the player on their front pages the last few days.

On Sunday, Marca reported that given the chance, Real would open their bidding with an offer of 80 million euros ($126.2 million), for a five-year contract that would net the player 9.5 million euros per season.

Brazil forward Robinho could move in the other direction as a make-weight in the deal.

Ronaldo, who has just joined up with the Portugal squad to start preparations for next month’s Euro 2008, has said he will make a decision on his future in the next two weeks. (Writing by Mark Elkington; Editing by John O’Brien)

Not only are they hypocrites, but their mentally retarded too...

I give up, too much stuff written about Ronaldo in Spanish media. Can't post everything. AS claims today that Ronaldo wants a new challenge because he thinks he has accomplished everything possible at United. They also print that Ferguson's little "rant" on Friday indicates that United fear that they are losing Ronaldo.

Seconded. Ramon Calderon is a fool.

No he is not a fool nor he is mentally retarded. He knows excatly what he is doing. He is a cnut of the highest order, and his club is such a shithole. As Fergie said, no moral issues at all.

For all their arrogance, I've never seen them get so low and dirty to get a player. Somehow this Franco cnut has the fecking nerve to say that Ronaldo can leave us because "slavery was abolished long time ago" and then come out and say he always said Ronaldo was our player and he has a contract with us... fecking hell, I've heard it all now.

But then again, Madrid never had any class about them whatsoever. What would you expect from a club that treated their-equivalent of Roy Keane (Fernando Hierro) and a manager that won them two champions league titles and two league titles like a sack of shit and sack them the day after winning a liga title?

No wonder our Becks embarassed the shit out of him and called him a liar and not respect worthy in front of the whole Madrid dressing room.

Finest player in the world? No but he is the most wanted the reason he is the most wanted is his interviews, everyone thinks he's available

If he has a shit season next season you'll get nowhere near 45 million for him, whereas if there was 45 million pounds on the table for him now you would be wise to consider it. I say 45 million that could of course go up if there is a bidding war. Aty the end of the day Ronaldo will leave when he wants to.

As for getting back to my shitty WH forums, if you don't like my posts add me to your ignore list.

45 million doesn't buy much nowadays in the market where the likes of Darren Bent go for 16 million.

If United lost Ronaldo but bought Benzema would we be worse off, better off or the same? Dismiss the fact they play in different positions.

He is certainly the finest player in our squad, I as a fan am not here to see how much the Glazers can get in for him all i want is whats best for my club so I care little about selling him at the best time for best profit. Whether you think he is the best player in the world or not sadly means feck all.

All that matters are facts, this player was the top scorer in the best league in the world and the best club competition last year. Yet he isn't an out and out striker. Thats why he is most wanted.

He is just angling for a bigger contract.
