But why 50%? Do you not think Ronaldo deserves perhaps 20-30% more than Rooney & co?

He deserves a new contract after the season he just had, and any money we offer him (on top of his new contract) will be recouped when we eventually sell him.

It will be a huge loss if he went. However, when did United ever keep a player who wanted to move on ? If they forced him to stay, then what effect would that have on his performances next season? He would most probably have his mind on Real rather than United. Furthermore, the fans do not take kindly to players who no longer want to play for United. The conclusion is - sell him for the highest figure and buy two or three top rate players with the proceeds. Sadly, it makes sense.

SSN barely even mentioning it now since it's obvious bullshit. It was their top story and breaking news for about 2 hours before the interviewed that bloke. It's gonna be a long summer.
