Have a word with yourself. If you were trying to get more money to reflect your increased status and thus value (and who'd blame you), would the first thing you'd do be to close the door leading to your goal?
 
The guy on SSN said that a portuguese journalist who is really close to Ronaldo was saying that he is torn between us the team he loves and the team he supported as a kid.
 
Maybe the 'quotes' will force Ronaldo to actually speak out once and for all, hopefully this is the case.

All media outlets are as bad as each other even the "respected" ones. The Telegraph was blatently copying off tribalbollox yesterday over that Villa for £17m shite..
 
It'd be funny if the quotes were made up.

But the quotes sound plausible enough, with reference to wanting no more discussion until after the Euros etc.
 
I feel sorry for SAF. He has been a father figure to Ronaldo and now he cant even enjoy a well-earned holiday. I heard that he was going to fly to Switzerland this week to talk to Ronaldo. I wonder if that happened?

It's not about the Brazilian website story. In fact, I am not really bothered if he's staying or not as I can see the benefits in his departure and not only the gap in our team (and marketing departure).

I think he's a cnut of a person even if he goes on to play for us another 1-2 seasons, it has little to do with that. I reckon his handling of this ongoing saga is an indication for his cnutness, as he could have easily called a press conference declaring there is feck all in all the recent rumours.

The people being reasonable in this thread, posting articles and news and looking into each of these so called 'BREAKING NEWS' stories to discern the facts are the only people that should be in here imo. Everyone else is just cluttering the place with silly posts and feeding the hysteria, as well as making it hard to actually keep track of what is going on in this thread.

like pogue said, the quotes could've been taken out of context. How many times has this happened? Look back after WC and all the shit that was taken out of context.

It shouldn't all be about money, if his motive to play is based on money then he should leave i want a player who feels proud to wear the red jersey and is honored to be part of our history not someone who thinks purely for himself and about individually accolades, which even though sometimes he may deny is a clear prerogative for ronaldo.

Thats why i love messi so much, he is humble, honest and doesnt make a show out of himself, he would fit so well in our team, if ronny is gonna leave please please can we get messi in exchange!!! He is the only player that wud soften the blow.
 
UEFA must hate this. This story seems to be getting more attention than the Euro Championships.

Heres a plan. I am looking for a business partner.

The idea is to set up a blog/website, and call it "latestonronaldo.com"

On this site, we will make up news and random quotes every two hours and claim it to be "Exclusive information from sources close to Ronaldo" and occasionally even attribute quotes to Ronaldo himself.

Then we circulate the links to places like the caf and other football forums. When traffic increases sufficiently, well put in some google ads and stuff.

We'll make a neat packet by the time this summers up.

If that's the case I'd have every confidence SAF will talk him into staying, that this is the best place for him. No one gets into a player's head like him.

You're dead right. I know this thread is gonna end up being slated as "that" Ronaldo thread but there's some interesting observations and theories buried in here.

Trouble is, you've got to wade through a lot of shit to find them. The "I told you so" crew are beneath contempt.
