I would give most United supporters more credit than that.

At one extreme, you've obviously got the CR7 fan-boys (who think he's a "legend" who's done no wrong) at the other extreme, you've got people who would agree with every word that Custis has written.

I would like to think that the majority are thoughtful enough to be somewhere in the middle.

The majority of supporters that I see regularly are just pleased he is staying this season and hope Saf will weave his magic to keep him after that.

Now, hang on. So Ferguson takes you to the biggest club in the world, converts you from a one-trick pony into the greatest player in the world, then you repay him by announcing you want to quit Old Trafford. Not ungrateful?

not one of the biggest..
the biggest

there is no way custis wrote that

He let it rumble on for two months.

The cnut that he is.

Now go buy your latest Ronaldo 7 replica shirt.

Well, what a cnut he is then!
Lets forget what he's achieved for the team and for himself the last 2 years.

BUT letting the transfer saga 'rumble on for two months' OH DEAR GOD, Thats just unheard of, blasphemous, He should be speared to death, gutted, then fed to the dogs. The vile, revolting excuse for a human being.

I think if you asked the fans at the match Vs Newcastle, that the vaste majority would say Ronaldo is a cnut, and has behaved disgracefully over the summer.

The same fans who cheered him when he scored a hattrick against newcastle?

Are you Ronaldo's agent?

Don't fall for any of it. Custis is an ABU twat. He got it wrong and he's trying to jump on the bandwagon of 'he's a cnut, anyway'.

I can totally understand some fans not welcoming him back with open hands. Personally I'll forgive him if he plays with his heart like he has done in the past and he's said he'll continue to. Maybe I'm just a more forgiving person that some others.

Maybe I'm giving them too much credit then? I'd like to think not. I guess we'll find out when he next steps on the pitch at OT.

I think a lot of the current feelings will have died down by October, and I sincerely hope he does not get booed.

he could have gone about it a lot worse.

Actually I'm not too sure he could have, and if so maybe you can give the scenario.

If he'd have come straight out and said "I defintely want to go Madrid this summer but it's between the two clubs" then everyone would have known where they stood.

If he'd have handed in a transfer request ditto.

The not really saying anything but peaking volumes approach was purely about not burning bridges whilst keeping everyone guessing and his dream alive which in my book is cnutishness of the highest order.

Still, the point is it's over for now. He's playing for us this season and I'm sure he will give it his all. I'm not saying all is forgiven but it can certainly be forgotten until next summer.

I am talking about the Newcastle game next week.

But, by and large, it will be same fans yes.

Next time he scores for us, fans will obviously cheer, me included. Not for him, but because Manchester United Football Club has scored.

But Pogue, I'm a bit of a CR7 fan boy in some ways, if finding his performances dazzling and taking enormous satisfaction from witnessing him destroying rivals puts me in that category. ANd I've defended the lad throughout this saga purely because I can see that what he's done is to act in a way which failed to fulfil the entirely unrealistic expectations of most fans by being as passionate, loyal and single-minded about the club as they are.

Ambition, dreams, family, lifestyle; there is room for none of these things in the fan's view of the world. Talk about Blatter and his slavery comments - our fans are so arrogant that they wish all our players to be slaves; slaves to their whims, to their way of viewing the club, to their conceited strictures as to what a player may and may not think.

They are professional football players. They are not actors in a real-life play.

doesnt that make you a hypocrite?

Why?

If I thought every single one of our players were cnuts, I would still celebrate us winning.

I am a supporter of Manchester United, the team and club. Not the individual players.

Ronaldo - helped us win the league 2 years in a row, top scorer last season, helped us win the CL, i know it was a team effort, but ronaldo played a BIG part! I will always respect him for that, obviously the likes of scholes, giggs, neville are in another class in terms of respect, but they're a different story, they're fans of the club, born and bred in manchester (ok not giggs but you know what i mean). Its different for Ronaldo. Yes he didnt handle the transfer situation very well, but i mean FFS, some people here almost want to lynch him!

Get over yourselves you self-righteous cnuts, the situation is over now, atleast for another year, stop all this ronaldo bashing, and look forward to the coming season.

I think it is proven beyond any reasonable doubt who The cnut is. And he will always remain one.

RONALDO COULD STAY LONGER - FERGIE

Sir Alex Ferguson is confident Cristiano Ronaldo will remain with Manchester United for longer than a single season.

Ronaldo confirmed this week he would remain at Old Trafford despite his love of boyhood heroes Real Madrid.

The 23-year-old winger, currently sidelined after an ankle operation, has been chased by the Spanish giants for much of the summer.

It appeared inevitable Ronaldo would leave, only for Ferguson to talk him round during a meeting in Portugal last month.

And despite hefty opinion to the contrary, Ferguson thinks he could keep Ronaldo for longer.

"As he gets older I think he will appreciate being here more and more," said Ferguson.

"The longer people stay at this club you tend to not want to leave. Rio Ferdinand is an obvious example of that.

"But really I'm just pleased we have managed to put all this Real Madrid stuff to bed. They know what they are dealing with now."

They sure feckin' well do!!

I played football myself for 20 years. Probably played about 1,000 games, and with hundreds of different teammates over the years. Many of who were proper cnuts. Would obviously still cheer when one of them scored.

Does that make me a hypocrite, Poisson?

Of course not.

You're cheering your CLUB. Whoever the player is is incidental.

Otherwise you'd be no better than a bunch of racists booing black players, or the sectarians at the Glasgow clubs booing Proddie or Catholic players, take your pick.

Oh I see, well in that case why bother honouring the likes of giggs, scholes, ole. I mean, after all, they are 'incidental'

That last sentence there tells us that a lot of fighting took place behind closed doors and the Scottish trainer handed out a beating to be remembered.

Neil Custis as the voice of United fans? Sun reporter demonstrates his talent for shooting at sitting ducks?

Exactly the kind of article that makes me go around humming Viva Ronaldo. Another couple of months of that kind of press and a few choruses from Alan Green and I'll probably will be singing Viva Roanldo again (or not - but I won't be singing Viva Neil Custis).

I would like to think Custis would shut up after his Berbatov quotes which he got from a Norwegian website.
It was quite amusing him on SSN trying to get out of that one. He could barely speak

I know Custis is a cnut, and that he usually writes bullshit, but that article sums up my thoughts on the whole thing atleast.

why is he a cnut?
Because, in the words of a certain poster, ronaldo let the transfer saga "rumble on for two months".
Really, Is that it? Is that enough reasoning to be called a cnut?

I'm with you 100%!
But I'm also 40 + years old and that's not a merit on this place ;)
