Believe me he'll stay. Look at the quotes from today. Inside sources, Ronaldo's friends, its all bollocks and it obviously makes a good headline. Until HE HIMSELF actually comes out and says " i want to leave United" then don't think anything of these rumours.
Plus no announcement has been made because he's not allowed to talk to the press up until friday.
Lets not start condoning him just yet people.
Is there actually a quote from Ronaldo saying he will make up his mind in the next few days? Or is this just all the usual transfer bobbins?
United insist their star player is going nowhere and voiced their anger at Real's vocal interest in Ronaldo. But reports in Wednesday's papers suggest Ronaldo is keen to play in Spain. He is expected to speak to the media on Friday in the build up to the Euro 2008 championships.
Rahul, i dont think people are condoning him. Anyone who allows this to affect their view of him as a footballer or what he has done for us this past season is silly. I think the point is that if he goes, or if he stays he could have handled the situation better and has changed many peoples views on Ronaldo the person.
I have been a Utd fan since 1966, when I first came to Manchester. I have many friends there and in Liverpool, where, I married. One of my close pals is an insider at OT. He tells me Ron is the most hated among the other players, although they dont make a show of it. He knows it, and is not happy at OT. This attitude of the other players started after his declared wish to play for Real in 2006. It is similar to Drogba's dream of Milan. His attitude unsettles the others, and they feel they would be better off without him.
He is a brilliant player, no doubt, but his attitude on field is sometimes questionable. Just a touch from an opposing player, and he goes to ground. When no free kick or penalty is given , he throws up his arms, ties his boot laces, and lazily gets on to his feet. If he loses a ball, he never tries to win it back. I would put Rooney streets ahead of this twat. Rooney only lacks finish. But given added responsibilities, I am sure Rooney will shine, and we wont feel the loss of Ron.
So, cheer up mates. Nobody is bigger than the

This better be a WUM
Messi ?
Stop dreaming, Barcelona will never sell
£45-50 mill.? You fecking bet they would.
Until Ronaldo comes out and says he's going. It's all speculation no matter how reputable the papers are.
Ronaldo wouldn't be anywhere near as effective at Madrid anyway. I don't think its a coincidence that his form improved drastically with the departure of Ruud, giving Ronaldo (as well as others) more freedom to come central and provide more of a threat on the opposition goal. With RVN at Madrid, Ronaldo would be in a similar situation (tctically at least) as before.
I hear Barca helped Messi and his family a lot during their relocation to Spain when Messi was about 14-yr old.
Anver, it lends less credibility when you post after the saga has started, right?
Yeah and good on Barca. But Messi's a bit older, now, and 45-50 has a lot of bite!
I had posted once before, too. Please go through all my posts, and you will find it.
Why is everyone getting so angry at all this. It always happens and we all knew it would as soon as the season ended.
The way I see it is, there are 2 outcomes.
1) Ronaldo stays next season.
2) He leaves, we get a excellent transfer fee and invest in the team and continue to be successful.
Both good outcomes.
Yes Ronaldo is going to be difficult to replace but United have always managed to replace great great players.
Some of you keep saying "No player is bigger than the club". Well most of you are acting like Ronaldo is bigger than Manchester United. He well leave one day, whether it is today, next season or the season after. But United will be here forever.
So who do you all think will be wearing the number 7 at United next season.
Think the Catalans will riot.
There's only one outcome. He will definitely be here next season.
If he comes out and publically states he want to join Real (which he has yet to do) then we're in the same boat that Bayern were with Hargreaves, the summer before last. We have a player on a long-term contract who wants to leave but we don't want to sell.
Which means he has one more season at United and leaves next summer. Two things are absolutely certain. His value will not decrease over the course of a season and Madrid will be just as willing to pay top dollar, in a years time, as they are now. As will all the major European clubs.
If all of this comes to pass it will be a shame but what you gonna do? The club has always been bigger than any individual player and always will be.
They won't like it, certainly, but these things happen. 45-50mill? anyway, Fergie's no idiot, he'll have contingency plans and if he can't immediately replace Ron in a satisfactory manner, he won't deal. But Huntelaar and Messi for Ronaldo, definitely! We've got the clout.
terrible human with terrible moral values.
The only new comment in the Spanish press is that Barca have started debating it and that Madrid think that selling Baptista (to a PL club?!) Robinho, and Soldado will raise them 60m Euros (which staggers me).
I think if Ronaldo wanted to leave United he would have told the club before flying out to Portugal, and asked them to make it possible. If that's changed then something has gone wrong.
I don't think Mendes wants this move, though obviously he'll try and get the best deal he can - and may have succeeded in getting beyond his expectations from Madrid (and below them from United). If Scolari is telling Ron that a Madrid move is worth a shot, then that's a change from 18 months ago when he was warning him against it. If Calderon has told them it's a one time offer (an obvious lie!) then I'm not surprised he's thinking about it.
I still think we're looking at
United+football Vs Spain+family+dream+money
and that may make Scolari's advice on the football side crucial because I doubt that Mendes has much to argue with unless United concede something.
I'm still wondering if Calderon made promises that he can't back up. If the press reports are right, not just about the pay but about the image rights, then it'll cause major upheaval in the dressing room. Plus, the loan that Madrid were talking about to fund the transfer fee was going to use the same merchandising revenue he's thought to have offered Ron. The Madrid fans (and board) are nervous - not surprisingly and Calderon has been doing some pretty careful backpedalling of his own (promises about other summer buys, not giving away the #7 shirt, soothing words to his senior players)
United playing it tough may be a calculation about Calderon. If not, then they've probably at least made sure that Madrid won't be offering 40m payable over the next 25 years at 0% interest and with no payments for the first 5!
O.K., and if you can obtain genuine transfer news from your 'insider' for us to w**k on, maybe we will start to change our stance.
Why what as he said?
