He'll probably go for £50m. Possible with some makeshift player thrown in as a sweetener.
yeah if the makshift players are sergio ramos and wesley sneijder

Ramos?
Everything you say is correct. That being said, we won't get £100m for Ronaldo.

We will, eventually.
If he actually says "I want to leave" ( which STILL at no point he has), then were in the driving seat for negotiations.
We should ask for Ramos+ Casillas + £50 million .
I'm not fussed tbh, i believe no matter what happens the club will move forward next year.
we'll see . No I would agree because Madrid don't stand a chance. I cannot believe such a club can be so stupid as to piss us off the way they have
They've done it before, especially with Ruud.
Ruud for me brought his issues onto the pitch. His last season, his performances were dire
I think that's the difference. Ronaldo might be tempted but ultimately he's happy at United. I also think his pride won't let him play bad and I don't think he really wants to cause a problem
I think if we thought for a second Ronaldo would come back and play bad just to get a move then we'd sell but I think with his age and with his profile now we'd be confident even if he wants to leave, if that wasn't going to happen, it wouldn't effect his performances
Real Madrid vs United in the CL next year would be interesting. Hopefully Ronaldo s on our side.
they're would be mass suicides in merseyside if we tied their 18 titles next season without ronaldo or reached 19 titles without ronaldo.
though it is annoying having to hear scouse gloating at work over this ronaldo shite.

Honestly mate, there's no way you can know whether Ronaldo will bring his unhappiness onto the pitch(if indeed, he is unhappy). The first signs will be in Euro 2008, and then when he comes back after the break(again, if he does). We will only really know if this will affect his performances as soon as he gets on the pitch in a United shirt. Anything otherwise can only be speculation.
I want United players to want to play for United, and be proud of playing for the club.
If Ronaldo wants to move, and only hangs around waiting for the right opportunity to go to Spain, then he can feck off.

My sentiments exactly. If he's simply holding out for a move next season, we might as well get rid of him now, on our terms.
Surely it's easy to shut up scousers: United champions of England and Europe.
I just think when you watch him, he doesn't want to play bad. Infact when he first came he wanted to do it all himself. He players football because he loves it. Playing shite on purpose would be bizarre to me and also remember alot of the players he's friends with so I think it's not as bad a situation as it would appear.
Ofcourse your right it's speculation but It depends on how believeable our stance is. If we remain strong, he'll stay. If we alter our stance an inch he'd be off because we'd be showing madrid the pressures too much

Yep. If he wants to leave, feck off now.
We'll ship you your kit from Carrington, Ron, don't bother coming back.
No player would deliberately play badly. At least none worth his salt anyway. Ruud certainly didn't want to play badly, he was just affected by off the field stuff. In fact the logical conclusion is that it would affect him in much the same way as Ruud, and unhappy player generally isn't in the right mindset to do his best for the team.

I just wish he'd have the balls to stand up and say what he wants and get this shit over with.
It's boring me now, we won the Champions league and all we get is Ronnies leaving FFS.
ruud's mentality was a lot weaker than becks. you can even tell in the frost interview. ruud and fergie did not end on the best of terms and ruud is not a utd legend. he was a grade a twat at the end of his career. he showed it on the pitch that he didn't want to be here. atleast becks still performed when called upon in his last season here.
The fact that he was being dropped very frequently towards the end of his career, and a striker being played in his position might suggest otherwise. I wouldn't have a bad word to say about van Nistelrooy, he is the sole reason we didn't sink like a stone in those dark Djemba/Bellion/Kleberson years. He fell out with the manager in his last season, and that affected him and the team badly. His move was in the best interests of the club. Hopefully that won't be the case with Ronaldo, eh?

Agreed.....

becks was ravaged with injuries his last season, then dropped. yes. BUT when he was called upon, he came on the pitch and played well. vs. real OT, during the title run in, and against everton after he won the title.
it is clear to see that united is in becks blood. it isn't in rvn's.
Ronaldo hasn't been a 'legend' for five years... He's just performed consistently for two seasons. Cantona's attitude and aura is a little bit different as well. You didn't see Cantona cry in every game he played. Cantona did retire at 31 years of age, he didn't want to move to another club. He just had enough of the spotlight that Ronaldo loves. Different personalities has different kind of impact on club and fans. I doubt Giggs and Scholes would be as celebrated as they are if they would have been attention whores using other clubs to get better contracts, even though they've played here their entire careers more or less. A legend is a role model, the whole package. Not just a goal scorer.I think he is proud.
You know cnut Ronaldo has been at the club longer then even Cantona was and he was considered a legend. When i read, some people mention Cantona as a legend but Ronaldo has to stay longer
I think Ronaldo loves it here and I think if he wasn't tapped up everyday there would be issue. I would expect him back at United pre season no worries.
The wanting to move is speculation at the moment. Also after the world cup when he made the statement his mind seemed made up. However we've had two great years since
Maybe in a perverse way he got to thinking. How can I improve? Maybe all this hostility will see him play even better.
Who really knows? He's an arrogent shite, but he really is all ego.
I just want to add, people made a fuss about him wanting that madrid poster but he keeps his united trophies, posters, shirts etc too. It's just what he does. I don't think we should contemplate his departure just yet.
Ronaldo will never come out and say I want to stay for life. Ronaldo loves being in the press because more and more people watch him because the more and more people know who he is. He's opening stores, restraunts etc, it's all business really.
