ALL Ronaldo's future/comments/speculation

Tad harsh, rich, he made the mistake of publicly saying he wants to play for madrid - who knows some of our other players may be off in a flash if madrid comes knocking...for ronnie its not about the money, he has plenty. Its as many a poster has said time and time again, its a league he grew up watching....

Come on, teveth said he wants to go back to Boca in a few years too...

Despite all that, he could've done better in this saga - i'm dreading the redcafe knifes that'll come out the moment he has a few bad games, saying his heart is not in it at all...

Who knows, the lad may actually come to love manchester in the future and actually stay...

 (Manc weather after global warming)

Excerpt of the interview of Bruno Prata with Cristiano Ronaldo;

'Alex Ferguson confirmed the day before yesterday that "the matter is closed" and that, definitely, you will play at Manchester in the forseeable future. Is this the truth?'

'Ferguson heard my arguments, I heard his, and, in fact, it was established between us that the best course for both parties would be that I continue. By that, I can confirm that, in the forseeable future I will continue to play in Manchester. And in the recent past, annoying rumours and speculation have arisen as to whether I go or stay, so I am now going to make something clear : those who say or write such things are lying. I go to play for Manchester United wholeheartedly. I am going to fight for and honour that shirt with the endeavor and the dedication I always give.'

'And how will the directors and the managers of Real Madrid feel upon hearing that you will remain with Manchester United?'

'I am going to assume that I was mainly responsible for all these polémics. They were not at fault because I was the one that manifested publicly that I would be happy to go to Real Madrid. I ended up also by being, even though involuntarily, the one responsible for the frictions that were noted between the two clubs.'

'Your statements, soon after the end of the Champions League, but also after the European Championship, caused the accusation that you had a huge desire to leave Manchester United in exchange for Real Madrid. After all, what was your will?

'I knew that Real Madrid were interested in hiring me and that, allegedly, would have offered me a much more elevated earnings proposal than Manchester United . My hope was, for some time, that Manchester United would accept that I transfer to Madrid. Anyone saying to the contrary would be misleading people and misrepresenting my own conscience.

And that, my dear cristiano, is why, with cristiano its always polemic.

Now if he'd just fecking said that in the first place!!!

I have no issue with Ronaldo going to Madrid. But he has to serve his contract, or run it down to a point at which United are willing to sell. If he isn't prepared to abide by this, he should have signed his 5 year contract last year. What he absolutely shouldn't do is what he's done this summer, drag the bloody thing out and treat the supporters like shit

I'm glad he's begun the process of crawling back to the fans anyway. It's up to us now how we treat him. Personally I won't be giving him any praise, he doesn't deserve it, but they'll be no negative reaction towards him. Not unless I see him giving less than his all on the pitch anyway...

agree with that;)

Don't bank on it. Calderon will go. Schuster might follow. Robhino will do likewise. Bad dressing room. Early CL exit. United do the treble. RM finish third in La Liga (how many CL spots does La Liga get?)

What then is the lure of the Shiteago Bummerboy?

Ronny doesn't (didn't) want to go to Real because of Calderon or Schuster, nothing will change there.

It wouldn't surprise me if Fergie's said to him 'give us this season and we'll sell you in the summer'.... Fergie didn't want to lose face on this one, he stood firm and he won. But I don't know about Ron staying after this season.

Hope he will and hope he'll get better, and I hope we'll all get over it and give him a chance though.

I left the Portuguese word in there on purpose when doing the translation; I thought someone would pick it up. I should really have translated it into 'dispute' (the Portuguese is 'polemica', feminine noun.

Its still not an end to it I'm glad he said this but he should have done this 3 months ago and we'll have the same thing next summer. He's just delayed it for 9 months its a fecking joke when you think he's not going to kick a ball til October it smacks of Henry to me silly money being talked about during the summer followed by a season of injuries then the Spanish club get their man at a knocked down price. If Ronaldo's PR man thinks this will win fans over he's not too bright how stupid do they think we are? They've just realised Madrid are full of shit and aren't gonna stump up a world record fee for him when he's injured and most of their team don't want him. bear in mind that real have a big dutch contingent who have probably been listening to Ruud all summer telling them what a little cnut he is

Just heard him say it on MUTV... I think he was alluding to Ron being influenced by outsiders

Ah! so there's hope the thread will reach 100k posts yet!

I get the feeling Ronaldo is being kept against his own will sadly. his desire for Real move will never be changed. :(

That would be ruddy brilliant, but personally, I would rather he fecked off. His role in this "saga" has been nothing sort of shameful, and for that, I, and many other fans I know, will most probably never forgive him.
He thinks of United as a stepping stone, nothing more, nothing less, and I will personally have a grin on my face WHEN (not if) he falls flat on his face at Madrid. Shit, I wouldnt be surprised if he found himself marginalised at Old Trafford by January, Fergie will no doubt be looking for, or probably already devised a Plan B for when Ronaldo is gone, and that Plan B may revolve around a certain Scouser who has a penchant for grannies.
If that happens, dont be surprised if Ronaldo is stuck on the wing, where he will most probably regress to the kid who Ashley Cole and Emmanuel Eboue (I repeat, Emmanuel fecking Eboue!) have easily muzzled him more often than not when they have faced him...
Also, I would love to see how well Ron would fair without the selfless off the ball running of Rooney and Tevez, or the stability our back 5 (or 6, if you include the withdrawn midfielder in our formation)... He certainly wont get either at Madrid...

In the end, all I have to say is, Love United, Hate Ron

So now not only is he a cnut but he's no good at football either.

This is an unfortunate resolution. Is there a programme that can delete any post that contains the words 'Ronaldo' 'Judas' 'cnut' 'feck' and 'off'? We may need the Judas cnut's services before he fecks off next year.

Bahama can we have the meter reading for the final time please?
Already posted it 3 pages back!

The Ronometer was the first to know......then it exploded!

I'm a United fan and I do not presume to 'demand' apologies from players for perceived wrongdoings based upon events, the details of which I am not privy to.
:lol:Drama queen

Well, everyone is different. I won't be taking part in any of these 'Viva Ronaldo' chants at Old Trafford - unless we, the fans, get some sort of apology.

We've supported him for 5 years; what's the harm in asking for an apology from the player we all worshipped 4 months ago?

Peter Parker: The Ronaldo thread, tell me how to stop it!
Dr. Octopus: It can't be stopped. It's self-sustaining now...

So now not only is he a cnut but he's no good at football either.

Oh no, he's majestic at football, just not so much when the team isnt set up completely to his game. Stick him on the wing when he's under strict orders not to drift, and he's nothing more than a kid who's quick with tricks. Thats good enough for every team except the top 3, and Europe...

I mean, his dribbling is pretty piss poor, all it is just a stepover, push, run, push, run, repeat. The ball doesnt stick to his foot, look at Messi, how many tricks do you see him do? not many at all, its just his pure freakish talent and ball control, and nobody has come up with a plan to stop him!

Fair point. I don't really care whether he apologises or not. He has shown his disrespect quite openly, and this is a fickle, mercenary game. But his behaviour, or at least that by omission, could have been better. I'm inclined to think anyone who thinks otherwise is given him too much of the benefit of doubt.

Fair shout. How many players don't fall into that category though?

I told you cnuts he's going nowhere 1 year into a 5 year contract many pages behind.

My stance remains.

Fergie/Glazers will not sell him a year into a five year contract, after 42 goals.

It's football suicide and will set a dangerous precedent of player power at United.

The defeatist attitude on here shocks me.

He wanted to go more in 2006 and stayed, he'll do the same now.

He's going nowhere.

:)

Make sure not to cheer next time he scores either...

We need to get over this and put a line through it... get on with things
