"Sack Fergie, Sell Giggs" wasn't always a joke, it used to be serious.
Only muppets ever said that, surely?
I have complete faith in SAF. Call it blind loyalty if you like.

You don't know anything for sure and nobody knows what will happen in a year. Its a long time away. A year in football especially is a long time. You just have to take each season at a time in football
and if it is his last season, then as long as he puts his all in to it and has another great season, fine
Thats all good and dandy but do you really expect Ronaldo to commit his long term future to us? I admit i've been surprised that we've managed to keep for the upcoming season yet alone for the one that follows after that.
Fellas,
Just stating my gut reaction to whats happening this summer. Just because my opinion differs from yours doesn't mean i'm right and your wrong or vice versa. Its just that, my opinion and how I interpret whats going on.
This summer is not the first time Madrid have courted dear old lovable Ronaldo. Last year before he signed his contract, they were at it. I don't recall anybody turning on Ron just because Calderon/Mijatovic opened their mouth. Hell we ignored what they were saying because we knew where Ronnie's loyalties lie. This summer, on numerous occasions when a mic was shoved in his face, Ronnie's been vague. He could have placated the situation or at least sent out a more positive message to us fans. Instead, he's refusing to commit. He reads the papers, this i'm sure of, so he knows whats going on. Ronnie has all the power when it comes to the speculation, but yet he refuses to do something about it.
If he stays, he'll be kept against his will. I want him to stay, believe me I do. And I trust Fergie's judgment. But like last summer, Fergie wanted Judas to stay even after taking us to court. So just goes to show, that just because he wants a player to stay doesn't mean the player is committed. Totally two different things
The way I see it, he wants to leave and he's been a cnut over this whole thing. But I don't think he desperately wants to leave and would be quite happy to stay at United. It's like someone owning a BMW and wanting a Mercedez Benz instead. They want the Merc but they'd still be happy with the BMW if things don't work out. Whereas Berbatov has a scooter and wants a BMW. Shit analogy but can't think of anything else. So I still believe he'll be committed at United and with SAF in charge no one can afford not to be.
Like I said you just don't know in football. For all we know, Calderon could step down as president and the next president may have no interest in signing Ronaldo
So his last season for us then? Would you really warm to him this season knowing that at the end of it he'll definitely swap old trafford for the bernebau?

Well he had a strange way of showing it, what with giving his agent a letter encouraging him to flog his client to the highest bidder.
I think he does want out badly. Agreeing with Sepp Blatter (caught on camera folks, so no speculation!) tells me that mate. If he didn't he would have avoided answering that question.
That's all well and good.
But surely uncertainty is not exactly the perfect scenario.
To be fair, i really don't give a shit anymore.
I agree completely he made this 10 times worse by not telling Madrid to feck off when there was always very little chance of us selling him anyway. I'm sure it will all be forgotten by christmas and to be completely honest if he wasn't so good we wouldn't so bothered and i can't wait to see him in a red shirt again this season
I'm kind of jealous of people who are so black and white about the whole thing.
I'm still conflicted. Which sucks.
Conflicted about what?
Piggy in the middle... in-between the Ronaldo lovers and the haters, not the worst place to be.

He stays, good. He goes, watever, we'll buy someone new with the cash.
Just because he's great doesn't mean we can't win anything without him, been there done that.
I don't hate him. I just think he is a cnut.
Never said you did, did you ever really like him though?
I'm massively pissed off at Ronaldo.
But I fecking loved watching him in a United shirt. I'm too young to have watched Best in the flesh but I genuinely believe Ronaldo is the most exciting player to wear the shirt since. And he's barely 23 years old. I used to imagine telling my grand-kids, with great pride, that I was there to watch him running down the wing in Old Trafford.
Difficult to switch all that off in a summer. But hey, maybe that's just me.
Of course. But see my (many) previous posts re battles for supremacy, putting the RM tiger in a cage, taking them out in a pre-emptive strike, negating their threat, bursting their bubble, triumphing in the titanic battle of the football super-powers, getting Calderon sacked for failing to deliver on his promises and thus providing a stern precedent to all ensuing Presidents inclined to spout bullshit, sending the top-dog away with its tail between its legs, cooking their goose, exposing them for the vainglorious, trumped up buffoons that they are, showing them whose top-dog, beating them at their own game, giving them a dose of their own medicine, staring down the playground bully, A horse! A horse! My Kingdom for a Horse! (nee naw nee naw nee naw......

Brilliant footballer, one of the best talents I've ever seen.
Never really taken to him as I've done to certain other players.
But then again, not since I was a kid and had Robbo as my idol, have I idolised footballers.
Players come and players go.
Never idolised him, it was just great to have a player so good playing at our club... all the abu's hated him with a passion. Reminded me of Cantona. Sadly that's where the comparison ends...
If Ronaldo leaves this summer, there's another comparison; they stayed at OT for about the same amount of time.
Some players leave more of an impression than others.
But obviously not on you. Which is fair enough.
I reckon COAC has a bar of soap for a heart ...
I jest...

especially those players who clearly recognised what a great honour it was to play for Manchester United, and clearly loved the club.
And who got the more goals?
