I saw that as well

Portuguese = Mancunian :devil:

Calderon: No number seven for Ronaldo

Ramon Calderon says Cristiano Ronaldo won't get the number seven shirt if he joins Real Madrid as the shirt is worn by club legend Raul.

Madrid move is off

WTF? They are even planning on his number?

They need a psychiatrist

they recognize that UTD played a major role on shaping the lad. If he had gone to say, RM, he most likely wouldn't have developed as much as he has with us. Ronaldo + UTD could = portuguese glory this summer.

Either Real nor Barca would've waited Ronaldo three years to develop.

Quaresma and Simao are nice examples.

No
But sadly I am getting so annoyed now that I think it would be easier to sell him. Not sure I can put up with this circus every time the transfer window looms.

It's tiresome really. Reminds me of Vieira

I wasn't.

I know, I just meant for anyone else reading it thinking there were similarities between Ronnies case of having maximised his value now and Ronaldinho doing the same thing a few years ago before he went into decline.

I should have made that more clear.:wenger:

They just wait until some club get the players on their highest level and then inmediately try to steal the player.

They got Beckham and we had to create a new lad from nowhere for almoust 4 years, he turned into the best player in the world and not to mention he was Beckham replacement and now they also want to steal the player who replaced Beckham. Im not mentioning all the marketing Ronaldo has at the moment. funny shit.

That is a very common misperception people seem to have, he was voted our best player in his first season so to say he came from nowhere is pretty much an insult.

I saw that above article in the Daily Mail too.

Feck it. I had enough of this crap. We are supposed to be celebrating our great season but since Moscow, I was wondering if that little s**t is going to stay or go.

If he goes, we will move on and kick ass. If he stays, that is fine too.

Man United made him. Not Madrid.

We kicked a*s after Beckham. Same again after Ruud (He got over 40 goals too). We will be the same after Ronaldo.

We are Manchester United. F**k the rest.

tbf though we were pretty much in deep shit back then - Djemba twins, Kleberson, Belion, etc... :)

you share the same view as many here. My question is: why are you lot letting this speculation go to you? I've got a huge fecking grin on since that wed night. Why can't you just enjoy? I bet you guys like to be always annoyed and shit like that. That;'s not good :nono:

I think part of the problem is some people don't get we're different. We do not all think the same, because we are incapable. That is just a fact of life, some fail to grasp. C'mon, do you really think people chose their thought process? It's something you cannot help so let people be. That is something that needs to be realised.

Nothing new. Am very confident he'll stay and good to read his girlfriend is mature enough to listen and not give her opinion, unlike fat phil an the like who should know better.

My heart is set on a move to Madrid, says Manchester United's Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo wants to leave Manchester United for Real Madrid.

The Old Trafford winger has finally admitted to close friends in Portugal that he sees his longterm future in Spain and not with the Barclays Premier League champions.

what utter rubbish.

Sports Illustrated Interview

World Soccer: How do you cope with being perpetually under scrutiny by the English media, in particular the tabloids?

Ronaldo: I've become accustomed to the stories that get made up about me. It's not an issue.

Actually Quaresma had an unsuccessful spell at Barca a few years ago, but failed miserably and was sold to porto.

exactly

I bet the same would've happened to Ronaldo too. He was pretty inconsistent and selfish when he was 19, just like Quaresma.

Barca fans would've booed him out of Nou Camp in no time.

Stayed away from here on purpose today to see if you all calmed down but it seems to be even worse now reading these last few pages. Having heard nothing today I think I've lost it with our Ronnie.
Fergie doesn't like the media circus round his players, affecting the rest of his team, as with Becks, and he won't put up with this much longer either. If he's shrewd he'll be finding ways to spend the buckets of $ we'll get for Ronnie. So long as all the $ go towards players I can live with that.
Goodbye Ronaldo
Goodbye Ronaldo

duly noted.

Im known to be a pretty jovial kind of bloke and I've been working on not getting on others for being down so much. Obviously there's much work to be done.

How much money would you be happy with?

This question is directed to everyone

You'd have to be a miracle worker Dodd trust me lol

If we decided to get rid it would have to break the world record. It should also be exponentionally more than it would have been under normal circumstances. The fact they caused the problem. 100million minimum. If you play dirty, you shouldn't expect a fair asking price.

Bye, bye United: Ronaldo is keen to go

Ronaldo knows that there are serious obstacles to overcome if he is to move this summer and that United will do everything they can to keep hold of him at least for another season.

He has also accepted that he may have to wait at least another year for his move to La Liga.

But - whether he leaves this summer or not - the fact is that the 23-year-old now has his heart set firmly on a move to Real.

It remains highly unlikely that Ronaldo will try to force a switch by officially asking for a transfer but United must now decide whether to hold their most saleable asset to his current £120,000-a-week contract or give in to Real's relentless pursuit of the player.

Last night, indications were that United's position had not changed, with manager Sir Alex Ferguson leaving for his annual break in France on the understanding that the Old Trafford board would not even consider selling the player.

Last week United threatened to report Real to UEFA for making illegal approaches to Ronaldo and chief executive David Gill has subsequently written to the Spanish club demanding that they drop their interest.

Nevertheless, United are becoming increasingly aware that Ronaldo's head has been turned and they now must face up to the grim fact that the Portugal forward wants to further his career in Spain.

Ronaldo's team of advisers have been hoping that United may bend to their demands for a new contract, something that the club has shown absolutely no intention of doing.

But even that would not persuade the player to remain at Old Trafford in the long term. The Madeira-born star feels that two league titles, an FA Cup and a Champions League title represent an adequate set of achievements in England and that he must eventually test himself in another league and in another environment.

Ronaldo is currently in Switzerland with his national team at a training camp ahead of the European Championship which begins at the weekend.

He has said already that he will make an announcement 'in the next few days' but the Portugal camp made it clear last night that they would not take any questions on their star man's future.

Spokesman Antonio Florencio said: "If it's going to (be announced during the tournament) I think it will come through his agent. This is the national team. We have no business dealing with such matters."

Portugal's opening game is against Turkey in Geneva on Saturday and Ronaldo was the centre of attention at their last public training session at their Neuchatel base last night.

The biggest cheers from the 12,000 supporters attendance were reserved for him every time he touched the ball.

Who actually wrote that?

His agent is in this morning's Guardian spouting off that he is on his way according the the preivew on SSN just now.

More and more stories based on nothing. The fact is everyone were waiting for some sort of Ronaldo announcement, which hasn't arrived, simply because there may be nothing to annouce. I doubt anything will happen over the next few weeks anyway. It's Euro mode time.

What's with all this "i don't care anymore" stuff? He's the best in the world, he's never said he's unhappy at the club and you don't care if he leaves? I'll bump this thread next May when he's won us another trophy or two, let's see if you care about looking like fools then. Yes, everyone are entitled to their own thoughts and feelings on the matter, but a little bit of perspective goes a long way.

i don't buy many united shirts, but sometimes i think about adding to my collection. i have never paused to think if i should add ronaldo to my shirt collection from the day he signed. maybe it was a sign of things to come? funny thing is, i went out and bought a ferdinand shirt the summer he signed for us (ferdinand #6..rare i know :-) as i thought he'd stay with us forever. even through all the contract/drugs stuff, i knew he'd stay and become a legend with us and was one of his biggest supporters, both on boards and with my mates.

ronnie i've always felt was going to leave. i've made my peice with it a long time and am not too bothered about him going or staying. if he stays, we'll be powerful. if he leaves, we'll get a feckload of dosh and move on.

i am more irate that it is madrid who are the suitors, and not ronnie wanting to leave. if ronnie wanted to leave to barca or one of the italian giants, it wouldn't bother me at all.

it doesn't matter because he'll leave within the next three summers. this one, 09 or 2010. so he's going to go at somepoint. i think a lot of us have just resigned to that fact and are looking forward to supporting the team as a whole, and not just hung up on one player.
