ALL Ronaldo's future/comments/speculation

To be fair to Ronaldo he obviously isn't a glory hunter, instead preferring cash over honours.

Ronaldo misses a couple of months this season. Most likely has a bit of a sulk. Plays well after Crimbo. Saga resumes next summer. We sell. For £15 million less than we would have gotten this year.

This could be a pricey game all to prove a point of principle!

His talent on the pitch will probably make us what we might lose waiting to sell him? Well in an ideal world anyway!

Anyone just been listening to Talksport? Some interesting stuff on the Ronaldo issue.

When this thread does get closed eventually, BahamaRed should have the last post in it. Some sort of triumphant picture hailing him as the king of threads!

Just for the reminder of what happened and the slavery comments.

He's not going anywhere, so when the season starts and the transfer window is closed, and he's banging the goals in again, then this thread is going to look very silly, and will turn into a source of more nonsense.

He wants out, though. Only Fergie really wants him to stay, apparently. Was listening to Harry Harris on TS. Now, this is not my opinion, but he thinks wages have been agreed between Ronaldo and Real via his agents. . .but Fergie's the only stumbling block, and he'll go over his dead body. Also another interesting thing he said, was that clubs don't pay agents, anymore, their commission is paid by the players, yet in Europe it's still the other way around. I think this may force agents to sell abroad in future. Back to Ronaldo, I think he will still be here next season. . .but probably move on, when Fergie, either, calls it a day or decides he's had enough. I do think SAF still has clout at Old Trafford. We're about to buy Berbatov who's been wanting to move to United for more than a year now, I don't think you can keep players that want away for too long. Now, if I were Fergie, I'd sell him next season, and make plans this season on how to replace him.

It's a messy situation. I don't think we should be burying our heads in the sand, though.

Yeah. Harry Harris on saying:

1.) Ronaldo really doesn't want to be with us

2.) The meeting with Ferguson involved Ferguson telling Ronaldo he's staying and that's it

3.) Ferguson might bring forward his retirement to the end of the season, or even now, if the club tried to sell Ronaldo

4.) Some people at the club would wnat to sell him now, but for 3)

Then the story should end there....

Who is Harry Harris?

And how does he know this?

Journalist. With the Express. Was at The Sun for ages.

Whatever we think about journos, him and the tabloids, I'd rather listen to them than the brain dead ex players flannedlling on radio.

well go on then, tell us.

Well according to Harry Harris from the Express there was an agreement in place between Ronaldo and Madrid in January. That he if he ends up playing for them he will a percentage of shirt sales which including his salary could end up equating to £300'000 post tax per week for him.

Also Ferguson is desperate to hang to Ronaldo, so much so that he would walk if the player gets sold behind his back.

Sorry I think the others have spoken for me.

It's all silly speculation though.

If you try to look at it on a logical basis, why would Ronaldo want to play for Real Madrid at this point and at his age? He wouldn't, unless he's as daft has half of the posters on here. So, at the end of the day, this is a hysteria fuelled by press/media bullshit, he's trying to up his wages here, nothing else.

I actually do believe Fergie'll do anything to keep him. But I don't see the point of having a player who clearly doesn't want to be there.

Interviewer: How have you handled the attention surrounding your possible departure from Manchester United?

Cristiano Ronaldo: I am of the opinion that all great players are always coveted by the big clubs. Not just me, but all great players. It's just a normal situation. Not just for me, but for other players on the market, who are also good, and other teams want them. So it's a normal situation. It's not just this year, but for a long time other clubs have wanted me, so i just see it as a normal situation.

I: So you do feel coveted by other teams?

CR: Not just this year, it's always been this way, so it's just normal, but we'll see what happens.

I: What does Cristiano Ronaldo want for the next season? Do you want to stay with Man Utd?

CR: I just want to be happy, where ever I play

I: Where could you be happy?

CR: Anywhere. It depends on me. If I am with people I like, if I am excited, confident, motivated, anywhere would be fine.

I: Is there some motivation for you to stay with Man Utd?

CR: There is always motivation, regardless of where I play. I always have it, because I'm an ambitious player, and I always want to improve. So, I don't know the future, but where ever I play, I will always be motivated.

I: Are you nervous about your future?

CR: No. NORMAL

I: What is "normal" for you right now?

CR: What's normal right now? Taking time off. Rest my mind, my body. Make a good recovery. The future is God's business, not mine.

I: Do you read the press?

CR: Sometimes, when I have a chance

I: But you are not always looking at what they say about you?

CR: No, there are people who say good things, and there are people who say bad things. I'm comfortable with myself, so I'm always good

I: But doesn't that serve as experience for you, whether to return to Man Utd or not, with what is said about you?

CR: Man, fourty questions about Man Utd. What do you want me to say?? That I'm staying? That I'm leaving? I don't know the future, only God does. That's all I can tell you.

I: Thank you very much

CR: Thank you

Another thing Harris said was that United were loathe to up his wages after last year but look set to try and do so after he returns from his injury.

I agree, I don't want to question the great man but common sense suggests we should sell him but Ferguson's a stubborn old mule. He must have some sort of plan that none of us are aware of.

Pretty much the same as before.

He wants to play for Real. I don't think there's much doubt about that. I've heard to two of his interviews, and both indicate that. If he wants to stay, he can easily come out and make a statement. As for wanting a move? He's clearly been ill advised. I think a move to Real would be a huge mistake. A bit like the one other Ronaldo made, when he left Barca for Inter. He's at a great team, great club and has everything a player could dream of. Why risk it all? Money? perhaps.
