Why do old men like Sultan and BahamaRed continue to act like their shoe size in this thread? How it is still in here and open I do not know, and does nothing more than ruin the reputation of this forum as a place for serious football discussion that it once had. For an Admin, I am shocked at Sultan's behaviour.

 I'm lost. Since I'm only in college can I not refer to my life until this point as my "entire life"?
Just being flippant.

I actually think it's been highly entertaining. Something to do in the football desert of the summer.
The two top teams in the world fighting over the best player in the world with one of them using gutter tactics and the other putting up the shutters. And the media having a field day.

Not much change now. Ronnie needs to speak.

To be fair, you not being shocked at anything on the Caf would be a shock.

Those contributing, and viewing this thread in record numbers certainly proves you wrong.

Like the "longevity techniques" thread in the general you mean. That's more your cup of tea.

Eh? You must have just read a different pile of shite to the one I just did then :wenger:

United quite rightly refuse to give him a pay increase. We just gave him a hefty one a year ago. Should United demand we pay him £30grand less if he has a crap season? You get a pay increase if you commit yourself long term to the club. Ronaldo has shown the commitment means feck all to him this summer

Regarding the Blatter remarks he associated himself with, you defend him spuriously on the grounds that 1) he was probably tricked and 2) he's incredibly stupid because he wasn't educated properly as a youngster. Its a classic example of denial, you don't want to believe he said it, so you're making up pretty feeble excuses for him. He did say those words, he did agree with Blatter, and the comments were never retracted at a later date. Its clear you think he loves United, wants to stay here, and you think its an injustice he's not being paid gazzilion pounds a week. All of that is bullshit

Oh, and Beckham didn't want to go anywhere. The lad is United through and through. From the point where United decide they want to sell, its up to them to negotiate the best price with the buying club. Their failure to do so is not Beckham 'fecking us over'

It's United first and foremost for me mate. It's 'CR7' first and foremost for you

Ronaldo's mind was probably so confused with wolves like you hounding for his head. I've already said, it's a huge misunderstanding coupled with media bollocks. He is still a Manchester United player, and protecting him is with the interest of protecting Manchester United's image. You should feel silly with your own comments trying to insist that it is Ronaldo's total wrongdoing in this saga. Fact is that no one knew or could experience what the lad is going through this turbulent period. Give him a good break.

So popularity is the strategic direction of this forum now? Mr Blobby was the Christmas No. 1 in 1993, it was popular as well.
This forum has a direction? Please let us know the plan.
This thread came about spontaneously. The only off topic posts have come from closet hate-Ronaldo-thread junkies like yourself.

Real cannot afford Ronaldo...end off...

not sure of he can buy out his contract next year...but SAF knows what he is doing....I for one cant wait for the season to start...

Doesn't a player have to be in the last year of his contract to be able to do that ala Frank Lumphard

Well, the plan would normally be that this shit should be in the transfer forum, because it is "transfer speculation" and general muppetry that is going on here.
This is a major war unlike anything that has happened at OT before between the top two teams ion the world and the best player in the world. It's a thread being viewed by 25,000 people a day. It needs a position of prominence.
It's hysterical, sorry, historical.

It seems to be upsetting your life balance that it's where it is.
Get over it.

Not much change now. Ronnie needs to speak.

He really doesn't.

My guess is that Ron's spent the last couple of months thinking that a Madrid move would be good, but staying at United wouldn't be bad. In which case he may have already accepted he's coming back to United but now knows that in the process, he's pissed off his boss, angered the fans, been trashed by the press, dented his marketing value, had a so-so Euros and now he can't even kick a ball. No gain, plenty of pain.

Alternatively, he really had thought that United would be embarrassed enough to let him go, Madrid would bid high enough to make it easy and United (knowing that the fans would be annoyed with him rather than the board) would welcome the cash. In which case he's still thinking about why he signed that contract last year.

I don't know where in that "Denial Anger Bargaining Depression Acceptance" game he is right now but I wouldn't ask him to talk about it (except to SAF etc and he's done that) until he's ready.

Given SAF's comments about how smart United have been by keeping quiet, SAF may even have advised Ron to do the same.

All good but for this to end it has to come from his mouth or the speculation will continue. That may be irrelevant for United and Ronnie but not for the fans.
It's not hard to say those two words, this time with meaning. "I stay". Surely that could do no harm....unless of course, he still means to go.

1) BahamaRed 1,199
2) jasonrh 382

He's not going anywhere, so when the season starts and the transfer window is closed, and he's banging the goals in again, then this thread is going to look very silly, and will turn into a source of more nonsense.

This thread will never look silly. Strange maybe, but not silly. And the fact that the best player in the world wants to leave the best team in the world is not nonsense.

No Weaste. It will show that there are United fans who care about something more than winning. We care how members of this club conduct themselves, and how they treat us. Who knows what will happen in the future, what kind of a reception Ronaldo will recieve this season. I'm just delighted that there have been so many over like minded United supporters who have condemned Ronaldo for the way he acted, and for whom scoring a few goals early in the season won't make up for what he's done

 I thought that said 199 posts for BahamaRed at first and I thought that was a lot, then I spotted the other 1!

Talk about dedication!

Yeah... Maybe we can take the title of Newcastle or Spurs
