Yes it does make me wonder. Why the media are so stupid that they can't realise by now how unreliable Marca is and why they don't have the bad reputation they do for nothing

England didn't make the Euros, and there has otherwise been a fairly slow summer.

There has been nothing to talk about since May, and since the Euros there has been no post-exit post-mortem blame-fest for the English.

There is nothing else for them to report on, so they might as well make up some crap about everyone's favourite winker - or print other people's fan fiction about him.

Breaking news: Cristiano says yes

According to Marca, Paris Hilton, who was at the L.A. party, said Ronaldo told her "get real" when she moved closer to him. According to Balague Giullem, an expert on both Spanish and English football, as well as Hollywood and Bollywood gossips, the phrase "get real" has great significant towards the signing of the mercurial footballer. This is no doubt a pleasing news to all in Madrid. Details of the conversation between Paris and Ronaldo will be published on Balague's website in two-three days time.

I read somewhere he is in LA because Gestifute have signed a deal with an American Talent Agency called CAA to promote him in America. CAA represents loads of Hollywood actors, singers and of course David Beckham.
He is also there for the ESPN awards as he is nominated in the International Male Athlete of the Year category along with the likes of Rafael Nadal.

Looks like Ronaldo fancies going down the Beckham route.

CAA is probably the most powerful agency in the industry. The only ones that come close are ICM, Endeavor and UTA. You're right. It does look like he's heading down the Beckham route.

Good on Ronaldo for dumping the tart.

He needs to find a Manchester bird for himself

Paris to buy Madrid for Toy Boy Ronaldo
"What the MLS really needs is a top European club to relocate to LA," says Hilton.

To be honest that's the only way I could see him staying at United for more than a year. But sadly Gemma Atkinson couldn't take one for the team.

According to Giullem?

You might as well believe that a chocolate fireguard is as useful as a toilet

I'm bleeding to death because my tits have just fallen off from laughing.

They did this "we've gone straight to the Glazers" bit a month or so ago, right before the 7th July date was announced.

I'm puzzled as to how exactly they would manage to contact the Glazers directly, or how La Marca would manage to break this story with their extensive contacts inside the Glazer home in Palm Beach, Florida as well as inside Old Trafford. So far those contacts have shown their unerring accuracy during this saga - no reason to doubt them now!

I'm also puzzled as to how exactly they think anyone would be so stupid as to believe this. It was Real who said he was worth 500m to them in marketing in the next year.

The Glazers are businessmen. They're going to sell an asset that will make them 500m for a fifth of that (at best), because AFTER MAKING THE 500m they would have to sell him for less in a year?

Lets take that idea at face value (I fail to see how a player's value would significantly drop because instead of FOUR years on a contract, he has THREE), and say he'll only be worth 20m next year.

Some simple maths:
100m transfer fee in 2008 = 100m
500m marketing profits throughout the season = 500m
20m transfer fee in 2009 = 20m

100m > 20m.

This is what La Marca uses as their evidence that The Operation is certain to succeed.

But even the most thick of the thick should realise that the 20m would be on top of that 500m that Real claims he is worth in marketing in the next season.

520m > 100m.

Try again, Calderon.

Shame on the Beeb and other allegedly respectable media outlets for running this crap.

Yes you are absolutely right of course and if they have fed this story to Marca, why say Robhinio is worth much more than £60,000 on the same day? That statement immediately puts Ronaldos worth through the roof. It does not make sense.

As for the Beeb - their main sports story was about some City fans who have chartered a trawler to take them to the Faroes for a UEFA qualifier!

Because she did that simple life show or whatever it was called some years ago. They made her do it. I flip the channel whenever it comes on.

I don't have a real problem with Ronaldo going down the "Beckham route" on his own. What broke ol' David wasn't his obsession with the media (we'd been managing that for a while), but his wife's. It was when Princess Victoria got her hooks into him that things went downhill.

So as long as Ronaldo doesn't end up marrying a fame-addicted popstress, we should be fine.

So is he leaving then?

This thread is like a website in its own, the admin must be creaming at the amount of hits this page has received.

Although I am sure he'll stay for the next year, and quite hopeful he'll be here for another one or maybe two after that, I don't think we need worry about Ronaldo's wife ever ruining his United career.

It just isn't going to be something United fans will have to worry about.

I would say no.

She's disgusting. A total media fabrication from top to bottom.

A revolting dog of a woman, whom everyone drools over because they are told to.
