Well Said Espada.

Ronaldo has left us stewing too long over this

So we are getting Casillas, Ramos, Lulinha, Ben Arfa, Berbatov and Aguero for 80 quid. Good business!

It would be good business alright!!

I'd be wondering where we will end up playing all these players though, considering Ronaldo is only one player and has one place in the team?

A lot of people are saying sell Ronaldo, buy a winger and a striker and we will be just as good. Grand, a winger to replace Ronaldo. The striker? Ok we take out Tevez or Rooney? Unless the FA start allowing us to play 12 players then it is not as simple as Winger + Striker > Ronaldo.

Ron wants out
United won't sell.
Shit's hit the fan.
Only collateral damage so far.

Has he officially said he wants to leave then? Like properly said 'I want to move to Madrid', not just tabloid rumours?

And when did this happen?

Cheers BR.

it was the team that ultimately won the champions league, after a ronaldo miss..very fitting considering the aftermath.
if we do buy then it will be a squad strenthing purposes.. we will watch rooney/tevez/nani/anderson/park develop their skills further

apparently madrid are offering us 45m plus Sneijder

id prefer 80m plus Sneijder tho

No, it's not, it's £200mill. + Calderon. We've said we want Balague thrown in and majority shareholding of Terra. We've bid 10p for Marca. They've said they'll settle for 20p. We'd be f*****g unbeatable if we pull it off, certainly in the bullshit stakes!

The only thing he hasn't said is that he wants a transfer. Expect that this weekend. He spoke about his dream coming true and that he doesn't care who it upsets cos its all about him and what he wants.
Not just tabloid rumours.
Happened after the Portugueezers got their asses kicked by Germany.
Now its all up to United.

The fact that no player is as big as the club, is a double edged knife/sword/whatever.

Seeing kids wearing Zidane/Beckham/Ronaldo(Fat) Real shirts used to piss me off no end. Are these kids Real fans or are they Zidane/Beckham/Ronaldo(Fat) fans? The answer is the later, but Real cultivate nurseries of future fans by buying these players and attaching these young kids to the club for life. I was given a Notts County shirt as a young kid, and still have a soft spot for them.

At the moment Real have no one who impresses the kids with their skill (Robinho is very hit and miss). The thing is we've got this player, and all of a sudden kids are popping up all over the place in United shirts with Ronaldo 7 on the back. Real have noticed this, and want in on it. If we sell Ronaldo, they'll have won. If we keep Ronaldo, and play hard ball for a couple more years, it will make a huge difference to our future earnings. Then we can sell him on at the same inflated price as now.

I've given up praying for Ronaldo's well being, and have lost all respect for him as a person. But I hope we don't give in. This year we learnt to play against, and beat, the best in Europe on the field, I hope we learn to beat them off it as well.

The problem with that is due to the Webster ruling Ronaldo could buy-out the rest of his contract in two years time. So we'd end up with two years of his wages, circa £12m, compared to the £50m-£70m we could receive if we sold him this summer.

If you sold him next summer then the fee would reduce significantly as he'd then only be 1 year away from doing a ''Webster''.

Clearly the best solution for ourselves is to drive an extremely hard bargain with Madrid in order to secure as high a fee as possible.

The recent comments from United are obviously part of their bargaining strategy.

Disgrace. No, not Ronaldo but 90 percent of the people in this thread.

excellent contribution....

Basically nothings changed. Expect the worst and then you won't be disappointed if it happens but if he stays then it'll be a 'nice' surprise, albiet for the team

If that is the case then we have to play it smart because we don't want it dragging on to the extent we're leaving it late in the day

Like Becham before him, Ronaldo will pay for his transfer fee and wages 10 fold with shirt sales alone. Messi is best player on planet buy he isn't as commercially placed as young ronaldo.

Barca hate Real and possess the only player equal to ronaldo, so wouldn't it be nice to ask Barca for a swap deal, Ronaldo gets to go to spain, we get worldclass player and real get made to look like cnuts. HAPPY DAYS

If you did it now, you'd have about 40 posts.
If you want facts only then I recommend ManUtd.com about a day or so after it happens.
If you want the best discussion and media links in the world on the Ronaldo saga then I recommend you do like the other 700,000 folks who keep tuning in here. I assure you news will break here before anywhere in the World and no matter what country its in we have reds on here will give us the full insight. The interwebs a wonderful thing.

I think they really mean he is not for sale though. We do not sell our star players, we are not a feeder club for Real Madrid. Cristiano Ronaldo will leave for Madrid but will certainly be staying for atleast another season. I could be wrong and naive about all of this but it is too difficult for him to leave this summer.

They've stopped all flights from Manc to Madrid then?

lock the thread and ban all ronaldo related talk till he makes his statement ..

should take around 3-4 weeks .. an operation , recovery time , personal time , noone knows the future time , does god know the future time ...

United have no option either to sell him or renegotiate his contract....to do neither is to allow Ronaldo to buy out the balance of his contract next year which would be a lot less than what we can get for him now from Real....I think Ronaldo has said he is leaving because he has not got a positive response from the Glazers about his request for a greatly improved contract.

He would have to wait until 2010 to buy out his contract.

Where did he say this? I don't think it was in the guillem interview.

This Webster ruling thing...

So Madrid buy Ronaldo aged 23 for lets say £80million

In three years time, he could conceivably buy out the rest of his contract, according to how much he earns? So Madrid could effectively pay something like £60million for 3 years service, and lose a player aged 26, just before his potential peak?

Someone needs to look at this Webster nonsense again

I haven't been up to date yet considering that I just woke up half an hour ago but basically it's still the transcript of the guillem interview or has ronaldo released someting new?

thanks.
Nothing new. Except the beeb have accepted the Guillam interview and post game interview as fact.
