Can't believe since the end of Portugal's Euros there has been just one piece of news. It's been recycled a hundred times over based on the same interview. I wonder whats going on behind the scenes?

Still don't think he will be going to Madrid

The change is loads of us now want him to feck off to the whorehouse that is Madrid.

never been to madeira.

he moved to mainland (sporting) when he was 12 and stayed their till 17 which is a very mouldable time in life development.

feck, hargreaves grew up in canada(till age 13 or so) and then germany (till he was 26). he still angled for a move to the premiership.

Fair point, but his family remain on the island - and it's a long way from Madrid, both in terms of distance and culture.

It looks like the kid has thrown his toys out of the pram and to be honest i don't want a player who does want to be here. Ideally i would have liked him to stay another 2yrs, but it seems once again those fascist fecks have been allowed to ignore the rules with the backing from those swindly, corrupt cnut at FIFA. My only request is we hurt Real both in the pocket and playing field by demanding shit loads of money and one or two keys players.

£60 + casillas & ramos

I thinks it's time to make Real Madrid pay for their games and ensure we both unsettle their squad and team moral. By taking away Ramos who is tipped as future captain and Casillas who provides their back line with confidence. We all know what its like to make changes in defence so by taking 2 of their keys players we can hopefully feck up atleast one of their seasons.
Secondly i would like us to use the additional funds to stengthen our squad for today and the future by bringing in young and experienced players. SAF has assembled an excellent squad that is one of the bests in europe though i confess to not liking our reliance on ronaldo. The management have said they'll back SAF financially and if they ensure him he'll receive Ronaldo's trransfer fee in addition to funds already committed to transfer then feck it, lets kick on and become the number one of europe with smart purchases.

Add Ramos & Casillas to playes below and i believe our squad would be able to dominate europe and make the silly winker regret his choices.

Lulinha - £20
Ben Arfa - £15
Berbatov - £25
Aguero - £20

So lets not be downhearted, and see this as a chance to go onto next level and truly become the number one team in the world by holding onto both EPL & CL titles.

So we are getting Casillas, Ramos, Lulinha, Ben Arfa, Berbatov and Aguero for 80 quid. Good business!

wake up and smell the cofee mate, what makes people think that we can grab real's best players in this propsed deal. Just really not gonna happen imo.

Does it not cross anyon's mind that the fact Rooney didn't do anything might just mean the reporter was blowing the incident up from a friendly little, playful tap of his watch, as any of us might if we were late for an appointment, into the sort of scene the journalist describes? So journos are suddenly wonderful, dependable authorities when it suits our purposes are they? Most on this thread have spent over two hundred pages pouring scorn on their offerings.

Double standards or what!

Who’s to say Rooney didn't have a word though?

Sure the reporter could be twisting a whole lot, but would you put it past Ronaldo to act that way?

What appointment is more important then saying a few word's about a historical tragedy with some of the survivors present? Club commitments are more important then personal ones. He hasn't got kids nor does he have a wife so it's not like he had to go care for them or take them to the doctors etc. He probably had a lunch date or wanted to have first pick on the hookers.

 Was about to say the same thing. Can we keep the FM muppets out of this thread and be a bit realistic if we want to talk about replacements for Ronaldo.

Exactly. It's unbelievable.

Ah well it was nice while it lasted. Let's not forget in the last 2 seasons he helped us to back-to-back titles & a CL win. If it's always been his dream to play for Real I won't begrudge him that - I hope it really fecks up their team though!

Thanks for the memories Ronnie & for the big wedge of cash we'll pocket from Real.

If anyone seriously thinks we should get Messi, then they are being a bit hypocritical. Getting Messi (who I hope, for the sake of loyalty in football, wouldn't come anyway) would make us just as bad, if not worse than Madrid.

Well to be honest Real have been fecking us about over this and we hold players registration so why not say "this is what we want or you can feck off and we'll keep ronaldo" either way we win. If they really want him then they'll pay.

Eh?

If we put in a bid for Messi and it was accepted (which it wouldn't be) then how in the name of fecking Tom Jones would that make us anything like Madrid?

Lulinha - £20
Ben Arfa - £15
Berbatov - £25

no chance of getting those players for those prices............

Lulinha - £20 mill
Ben Arfa - £15 ill
Berbatov - £25 mill
Aguero - £20 mill

no chance of getting those players for those prices............

What prices seem unreasonable? Maybe ben arfa might cost a little more!

According to Forbes, Ronaldo is the most valuable footballer in the world. Ahead of Kaka and Messi. By a considerable margin. I think it takes into account marketability and all that. Anyway, Messi's just a pipe-dream for me. I really think he's a once in generation player. Ronaldo's more complete and probably the best player in the world, but for natural talent, no player comes close to Messi. I am allowed to dream, though aren't I? But yeah, I don;t think Messi would want to leave Barca and visa versa. That said, a huge bid could change things.

We all dream of Messi, but realistically it just won't happen. I see one good thing coming out of a Ronaldo move: the 'best player in the world' debate will be far more objective on here! Plenty of folk will change their minds simply because Ronaldo no longer plays for us; the fickle nature of the fan. But you're right Spoons, and I've said it (and had great debates on here) for a long time now. Messi is the exception, he is the one we'll tell our grandchildren about. They'll tell us about the hot new talent on the scene and we'll mutter "ahh, but he's no Messi"

There is a change of scenery at Barca, with some top players available. I'd still like Ronaldinho at the club, though if Barca have turned down a reported £20million bid from Madrid, that's not happening. Eto'o though... for me it'd be a crime if we didn't land such a player when available! Didn't have his best season ever last, but on form he's the complete striker. I'm actually quite stunned Barca are willing to let him go

all of them......

Unless there's buy out clauses. You might get Berbetov for 25million, but if you get xxx from madrid the price will rise alittle unless he causes a stink. The rest are not that easy. If only negotiating were that easy....

Lulinha - £20

I take it that you meant millions of pounds but forgot about mentioning it.

What makes you think that Atletico, who paid £18m for Aguero back when he was a teenager and unproven would let him go for about the same price? £30m to £35m more like it.

Eh?

:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

I suppose it's a meaningless point as it is beyond hypothetical but in order to get Messi we'd have to do what Madrid are doing with Ronaldo. They wouldn't accept any bid, as you say, so we'd have to destabalise him (which we wouldn't be able to) in order to make any progress. We'd break the hearts of their fans and lose the respect of a club that is worthy of respect. What would make us worse than Madrid is that we'd be undermining the loyalty of a player who people expect to stay with Barca for life.
Anyway, my point is that any talk of Messi being a replacement for Ronaldo is pointless; I hope we would never stoop to Madrid's level.

spoony mate, messi is barca for life. they flew him and his fam at a very young age and paid for his hormonal treatments to combat growth deficiencies, when his fam couldn't afford it in argentina.

there is no point in getting messi to OT.he'd never come even if barca accepted a ridiculous transfer. buying messi would cost us more than selling ronnie, FACT.

would scholes, gaz, giggs had left united? no, they are united lads. messi is a barca lad.

This is my point.

If we squeeze real for money then maybe £30 mill for Aguero wouldn't be such a bad price as the kid looks special from the half dozen or so times i've watched himk play, and probably ben arfa will cost £20 mill as opposed to £15 mill.

Lulinha - £20

lulinha 20m is a joke ..
corinthians even got relegated didnt they

kun will cost nearly twice that tho ..

a winger + a striker

and we would save money too

I think the journalist is exagerating the incident. If Ronaldo behaved the way the journalist says it would have made the papers at the time.

Obviously I do not want to see anyone at United who'd rather not be here. So its best that he goes. But I'm not going to be a dick and suddenly turn on him and start hating the shit out of him.

My overriding emotion will be one of disappointment at losing an important part of a very special team that Fergie is building. Of course we will move on and all that, but I will surely be a bit gutted at losing our player of the year for 2 seasons.

He has always maintained that he wants to go to Spain so I don't get people who feel deceived about his loyalty.

I would say thanks for the memories of 2 unforgettable seasons, but if you insist on leaving something so special, you know where the door is.

How wet are you!

Thanks for the memories? He's given us brand new memories to sully the time he's spent here. Time where he went from being a show pony nobody to one of the most deadly effetively players in the game, under our guidance, Fergies tutorledge and fitness / training regimes. He should bloody be thanking us!

Given the complete lack of respect he's showing for the fans, the club, and the manager - who has a tricky job of not being fatally undermined by this player at the moment - my overiding feeling is one of contempt and anger personally

Madrid used to be my favoured team in Spain, but that's swiftly not the case anymore. I'd well supporting Barcelona from now on, because actually, when I've examined things, they've not behaved like indespicable cnuts over this whole saga.

never once did i comment on my opinion on his character.

most people on here think sharpey is a 'twat'. i've met him a few times and he's a top class lad.

it is obvious that ronaldo wants to leave, we all knew it was going to happen at some point. atleast hehasn't explicity put in a transfer request, because that would hurt our negotiations when it comes to a fee.

That's bollox, he won't put in a transfer request because it will hurt his "loyalty" payment of any such transfer.

My views are similar.

We all knew he'd leave eventually. He's just going earlier than expected. He's been a major contributor to our last two seasons (Two league titles and a European Cup).

He might have lied after the European Cup final by saying he's staying but most players would say that until the deal was moving towards the end.

Even now, I'd prefer him to stay but if he goes, so be it. With him or his replacement(s), we'll still be the top side in Europe.
