It must be a "spur of the moment" for the last month then. Check my posts if wish. My opinion (almost always scathing) on Ronaldo has been unswerving throughout this entire saga.

I want him to leave, because he behaves as though he believes he is bigger than the club. It is an unworkable situation.

by spur of the moment i mean the moment we are in right now.. the not knowing whether he'll stay or he'll go stage. it's been going on for a month and we are all angry with the situation. I am too. Not with ronaldo, but with the circumstances. The euro certainly didn't help.

But the point is simple. if SAF and United board can somehow convince him to stay and he gives a press conference saying he's not going to leave - what would be your reaction? he will have in effect turned down Real Madrid. I'd be on the moon!

So what if it takes a lot of money to keep him. he deserves it. he's almost single-handedly put us on top of the map, so why let him go so easily? On top of that, we're changing a man's dreams. We are shattering his dreams using a big wad of cash. But unfortunately that's the only way we can do it.

Let the twat go if he wants to.But I hope United make sure we get the maximum out of the deal from Real.I hope we get 50 mil pounds + a player at least.
For some reason Real always prove to be a bigger club than us.They even got Beckham on cheap.

We are Man United and we will move on and plus we have Fergie for another 2 seasons at least.

Anyways the way Ronaldo has acted is utterly disrespectful and even if he stays he will never have a special place in the hearts of United fans.

Thanks for the effort, really appreciate it. *High five

I did mate, just below the video you posted.

Reporter: Cristiano, can we talk?
CR: We all are sad, we really wanted to win..we lost in 2 plays due a corner and freekick...football is like that.
It's sad because we are better than them, that we practiced the whole week that we could make a different in these
kind of plays (corners, freekicks) but we couldn't stop them and that's why i think we are better and people think
Portugal is really better but the final result is that Germany won and went trough the semifinals.
We had more chances but two chances they had we lost it.

Of course we wanted to win it but i think it was a good competition, i know if we had won this game we were just one
stop from the final but the moment wasn't good...Portugal lost and what counts more in football is the final result
and not good exhibitions.

Reporter: did you expect more from yourself, cristiano?
CR: No...im satisfied with what i did but of course i wanted to give more but now i have to rest well and
everything is fine.

Reporter: how is the other players now?
CR: of course we are all sad...we knew we could have won it..it was our mistakes and that's why we are disappointed.

The message i can give to the fans is thank you for supporting us till this last game and that's it.

Reporter: how disappointed are you to lose this game cause of a header goal, corner and freekick?
CR: yes i am and more because Scolari wasted a big time talking about these kind of plays and whoch player should
follow each german player... i thought our players were confident but that's not what happened, Germany won cause
of this kind of plays that we were worried.

Reporter: The Euro is over now, is it today you are going to tell about your future?
CR:No...now i want to talk about the game, what i did wrong but in the next few days i'll say more about my future

Possibilities are big (to go to Real Madrid) but it doesn't deppend on me and i don't want to talk about this anymore.

Reporter: is there any contact with you from real madrid?
CR: i think so, i don't know. in the next days we'll see and we'll get to a deal

Reporter: but what do you want?
CR: i want many things but in the next days you all will have news

Reporter: in you last press conference in Neuchatel, you talked in spanish..did you know how to speak already?
CR: i knew spanish already

Reporter: already for the future?
CR: i always practice not only spanish but also english and french

Reporter: having scolari as your opponent, how is it gonna be?
CR: he'll be my opponent...he'll want to beat me and i'll want to beat him but he's my friend.

Reporter asks about real madrid again
CR: i won't talk about this anymore...that's it...

that was different. SAF couldn't wait to get rid of Becks, so any price was going to do.

I respect Cristiano Ronaldo's dream

I totally respect his wish to play for Real Madrid, but he has done himself no favours with Manchester United if he wants to leave this season. He has lied, clearly been in contact with Real Madrid at some point, and now has treated the club that made him like shit on his shoe.

I for one am loving this whole media wank fest over him going to Madrid while Manchester United quietly keep reminding everyone that he is not for sale

I wish he'd just disappear now like he disappeared against the Germans last night.

I'm with "Feed Me"

A couple of wins, and we'll think Ronaldo who?

Thats what you want to think. If you look at it in the right way, his finishing last season is the major reason why we went as far as we did. Rooney's and Tevez' finishing were below par. He was the only one firing clinically. Its gonna be very, very hard to replace him, and Fergie knows it. We should think about whats the best for Manchester United, and losing Ronaldo can't be it. I think he will come clean eventually, if not, and he moves, thats it, we have to find a fairly good replacement and hope we can cope in the near future.

I made my feelings clear quite a few posts ago whilst being told by some cnut in iceland (who's probably never even set foot in Manchester let alone old trafford) that i'm not a real fan, nothings changed however. It's definitly looking like he's been angling for a move all along, sad the way its had to end considering the achievements he as a player and the club have had however life moves on and we certainly will as well.

I have been giving Ronaldo abuse for weeks and weeks now. I was told by the more enlightened posters to give it a rest until the future was resolved. It seems now that everyone has come around to the notion that the tosser is agitating for a move.

Let me get this straight now. His conduct has been absolutely disgraceful. The disdain he has shown to Sir Alex Ferguson, the fans and the entire club is a disgrace. I have no respect left for the boy.

I truly hope that he leaves. Anyone who says he is irreplaceable is talking absolute nonsense. Don't leave the prick in the stands as that will harm the club. He is clearly a hugely sell-able asset so lets get our transfer hard hats on and play some transfer hard ball. The club would be well advised with taking a leaf out of Lyon's book; after all they are well versed in squeezing every Euro out of a transfer deal. This transfer is going to happen and we need to make sure we take as much from it as we can. We are clearly in a position of strength with the player being on a 4 year contract so lets not get bullied.

I genuinely believe that the last 3 months have shown that Ronaldo thinks he has outgrown his respective teams (Portugal and United). Every press conference and interview has been littered with the same questions and all the preparation has been over shadowed. I'm sure other players get pissed off at having to play the role of water carrier for this over indulged fool. His exit would allow the likes of Nani, Anderson, Tevez and especially Rooney to flourish. We could plough the cash into a world class front man as well.

Ta ra Ronaldo. I for one, won't mourn your departure.

Yep, I agree. It's a shame it has to end like this, he could had left for Real Madrid, even THIS summer in an amicable way if he just came out and said it the right way..yes, everyone would be still dissapointed but this whole saga has just turned it to another level, very unprofessional I'm afraid Ronaldo.

Ronaldo is great but he is not the team. And I prefer not seeing us raise the CL again rather then see that arsehole treating our club with such disrespect.

What a ridiculous thing to say...

I would have no problems with Drobga, Terry & Deco playing for us if we won the CL again.

If there was any arrogance it was with the journalist. Is he really do dumb as to think he would get Ronaldo to reveal what he wants to do when for all he knows it may not even be decided yet. Ronaldo is doing the right thing in not talking about it. Let Fergie and the club deal with the issue behind the scenes - the less thats said in the public domain the better.

If Ronaldo comes out and says something along these lines:

'Yes I was interested in Madrid, how could you not be they are massive club. But I want to stay at Old Trafford for a long time. Manchester (united) is great club and I want to be legend. I want Carlos, Wazza and I to have statue like holy trinity. My statue will be very beautiful because I am very beautiful. Carlos and Wazza maybe not. My team will pass me the ball, I score, we win treble. The gaffer is a great man and I never want to disrespect him. and fans, they are the best in the world'

then I'll forgive him.

However did we survive without Cantona?

How did we cope when Cantona was banned? How did we cope when Rio was banned?

We're talking about the near future, next season or two. We are reliant on certain players. Thats what makes them the best players.

On the long term there is now doubt Manchester United will be successfull.

 Not happening mate, but funny nonetheless.

it's pretty clear that he is going to push for a move when he and his agent talk to United. So then we're down to the awkward situation of refusing to sell him, and public displays of dissatisfaction from Ronaldo that will continue until the start of the season.

I think the only way to avoid this getting any uglier is if United agree to re-negotiate his contract and add a fixed transfer fee. A large fee. Then we sell him next summer if Madrid match the fee and dignity is kept intact. But it's hard to see United wanting to set a precedent for future contract disputes by re-negotiating the contract after only a year.

Has the Guillem Blague interview been confirmed as real?

Anyway what I don't understand is why people are getting so angry about this. Everyone keeps saying nobody is bigger than the club but we're definitely not acting like that. Obviously everyone's disappointed but there's no need to get so wound up about it. If he stays fantastic, if he leaves he's an idiot but United will move on.

I like Ronaldo and I do rate him as the best player in the world but no one is bigger then the club. If he doesn't want to play for us then he can feck off.

The Club can say what they want.In the end it's all down to Ronaldo. If he says he's going there is nothing we can do to stop him all the talk about putting him in the stands will never happen with such a high profile player.Still believe he'll stay though.

People are angry and upset that a player we'd shown great loyalty too is treating us in this way PSmith. I think football supporters are entirely within their rights to be so upset when they've invested such emotion in a player. Only a season a go he recommitted to the club for a further 5 years. For this to be happening only a year later - it's not expected behaviour is it. And it's no way to treat your supporters

There needs to be a line in the sand here. Ronaldo needs to face the public cameras, and declare where he's at

2 seasons after Cantona retired we won the treble.

I went through couple of decades of being a fan with just a few FA Cup trophy victories, and a relegation to the old second division to boot.

A few further trophyless seasons or decades will not diminish my support. I enjoyed watching United back then, as I do now. I have seen many greats come, and go...

Unless he does a complete turnaround, and comes up with a very good story, no more Viva Ronaldo from me either - I said this over 200 pages ago mind.

United - Ronaldo not for sale

Old Trafford club are not listening to offers

Manchester United have again insisted that Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo is not for sale.

The future of the gifted young winger has dominated the headlines all summer, with Real Madrid eager to secure his services.

Ronaldo gave the clearest indication yet that he is looking to leave Old Trafford in the wake of Portugal's elimination from Euro 2008.

Dream

He told Sky Sports' guillembalague.com: "It is a dream, a step forward, you can call it what you want. For me it is a great opportunity, and as (Luiz Felipe) Scolari says, that train passes by only once, and we have to take advantage of it.

"You will soon know what I want. You do know what I want and that is why I don't want to say anything else. Let's wait. I want to give more details that is why I cannot say much more."

Not for sale

But a blunt statement on United's official website read: "Further to Friday's press speculation about where Cristiano Ronaldo's future lies, the club has moved to reiterate its stance on the matter: United are not listening to offers.

"Ronaldo has continually been linked with a move to Spanish side Real Madrid this summer.

"But the club reaffirmed to ManUtd.com on Friday morning that the 23-year-old United star is "not for sale"."

You have to agree that we are not in a financial state that allows us this much time to rebuild though. Manchester United of today is more dependant on success on the pitch than it ever was.

Damn it, so Ronaldo is not for sale.

I would love to cash in and buy big this summer.

Since when did Ronaldo become obsessed with what Scolari has to say? he obviously doesn't say much of any use, for example his strange defensive tactics last night. I'm not quite sure Chelsea have got the right manager here.

Not sure if this has been posted, but a video of Ronaldo being interviewed after the euro exit..

That's why a number of posters have issues with the Glazers takeover.

If the ingrate Cristiano persists in flirting with Madrid, then ManUtd should just sell the boy. Seen how he played in EURO against Germany,...and i can confirm,...he's not the chosen one.

Use the profits to buy Bastian Schweinsteiger and many more instead.

Back to the newbies boy.
