anyone who thinks this is purely about money needs seeing to - he wants to go and we should let the fecker go and make sure we get every penny upfront off the slimey bastards and make sure it's not a penny under 60m. Yep - I suppose that's a bit emotional but I've been a fan/supporter or whatever for nearly 50 years now and I do actually get a bit emotional about United believe it or not. Whether he wants out or more wonga, I don't really care. He's acted like the little whore that he obviously is. If you can reason and equate with that behaviour, good luck to you. I can't and wouldn't. Call me naive (even though I've been in business for nearly three decades) but that's not how I would handle it.

45 years for me Denis, and you're spot on BTW.

Still think United won't let him go. But things will get really messy now.

I cant see how it works if he stays. This will happen again at the end of next season. He has no comittment to the team or to the fans.

I just cant see OT warming to him again. That special bond I had has gone. And it wont come back. I just want him out and quickly.

I don't think anyone will jeer him at United. But i also don't think we'll be hearing as many "Viva Ronaldo's" next season thats for sure.

Guys I must have missed a certain article or interview that you didn't like. Can you tell where's it?

If he is, I wont be making him feel welcome when Im at OT. And Im sure many others will feel the same.

If he stays it will take a lot of effort to win the fans over - not just a couple of goals.

Rio is a prime example.

He won't get booed or anything but there won't be much Viva Ronaldo
I thought this was quite amazing.

Your life long dreams VS money VS spine.

hmm... tough choice.

read the post and stop acting like a prat - firstly, you're making a big assumption about money. Wait until the deal between the clubs is done and see what they offer him then. He'll be lucky to get what he's on at OT from them. I said "I don't deny him his dreams" and as for spine, I just thought a little gratitude and decent behaviour might make just about everybody who has heard of him think that maybe he's not such a little twat afterall.

We should not be getting upset and all with Ronnie wanting to go to Real. We bought the lad on a cheap and should he go, we are gonna sell him for a huge profit. And furthermore, we had 5 great years with him. And many more to come with or without Ronnie.

Personally, I love our players BUT I love United more. And 70m looks like good business to me.

we actually got 2 great seasons out of him and indulged in him for 3.

9 frustrating European campaigns followed our success in '99. If we want to avoid that happening again we need Ronaldo on board.

Obviously we dont want to keep a player who doesnt want to be here, but I very much doubt Roni would give anything less than 100% if he stays. Fergie will also be mindful of the affect on the dressing room if he's getting too big for his boots.

Ronaldo's value isnt likely to drop, so we need to tell Madrid to 'do one' and sign Eto'o from Barca.

As a smoke screen United should put bids in for Madrid's top two, though looking at their ages I can only think to add Robhino to my wish list ?!?

If Ballague's interview is accurate Ronaldo is an absolute cnut and scumbag. If he made a decision to leave before the Champions' League final, why did he say "I stay" - he's taking the piss.

We should do what Bayern did with Hargreaves, keep him for a year, then screw them for every penny a year later.

from the Balague interview:

Guillem: You know that when you return to Manchester people will be upset with you

Ronaldo: But that will pass, a couple of good goals and people will be happy

What does that mean and if he wants to feck off why are United the ones who will operate on his foot?

Very nice post Dennis. You are spot on Sir

Honestly that statement about the fans was as disrespectful as it gets. feck him. I personally wont be happy if he stays when he thinks of our fans that way. Their disappointment with him and his behaviour is not some trivial issue. I'm beginning to really think he is an supremely talented but fecking arrogant bastard

You're only just realizing that? By far the most arrogant player I have ever seen.

I have been giving Ronaldo abuse for weeks and weeks now. I was told by the more enlightened posters to give it a rest until the future was resolved. It seems now that everyone has come around to the notion that the tosser is agitating for a move.

Let me get this straight now. His conduct has been absolutely disgraceful. The disdain he has shown to Sir Alex Ferguson, the fans and the entire club is a disgrace. I have no respect left for the boy.

I truly hope that he leaves. Anyone who says he is irreplaceable is talking absolute nonsense. Don't leave the prick in the stands as that will harm the club. He is clearly a hugely sell-able asset so lets get our transfer hard hats on and play some transfer hard ball. The club would be well advised with taking a leaf out of Lyon's book; after all they are well versed in squeezing every Euro out of a transfer deal. This transfer is going to happen and we need to make sure we take as much from it as we can. We are clearly in a position of strength with the player being on a 4 year contract so lets not get bullied.

I genuinely believe that the last 3 months have shown that Ronaldo thinks he has outgrown his respective teams (Portugal and United). Every press conference and interview has been littered with the same questions and all the preparation has been over shadowed. I'm sure other players get pissed off at having to play the role of water carrier for this over indulged fool. His exit would allow the likes of Nani, Anderson, Tevez and especially Rooney to flourish. We could plough the cash into a world class front man as well.

Ta ra Ronaldo. I for one, won't mourn your departure.

United can't get the top players from the other top clubs, should be the same vice versa, but looks like its not.

We should anesthetise him and then chop his bastard foot after. After we have had the funds wired across from Madrid of course.

Most player leave it on the competive field. He seems to have it on him in real life too. Which is disapointing. You think some one with is background would have more class

Exactly, those 2 quotes in the Ballague interview show him up for what he is as a person - detestable.

Guillem: The little details were won by Germany. You didn’t seem concentrated enough

Ronaldo: I didn’t do anything wrong. I did what I had to do but the team made mistakes and that is why we lost:mad:

Ronaldo is great but he is not the team. And I prefer not seeing us raise the CL again rather then see that arsehole treating our club with such disrespect.

He's taking the piss out of the fans saying we'll forget about this after a couple of goals.

I think you've all missed the point!!!

Guillem:

Meaning that United fans will be happy. Meaning a couple of goals for United. Meaning he will be playing for United.

There is a chance that Ronaldo is playing mindgames, in order to get a higher deal, knowing full well that Real, or any team for that matter, would jump at the chance to court him. Mindgames I tell you!!!

I think the one about not caring if he upsets Ferguson is worse.

Strange, one moment Ronaldo sincerely says he wants to be a United legend, then the next moment, Balagues' allegedly true interview with Ronaldo on his change of heart.

Hopefully you are right
