It's a shame he feels this way - and it reflects very badly
on Ronaldo as a person.
Why wouldn't United fans be upset?
The real issue here is the correct way to go about things, not the fact that it is his ambition to play for Real.
Ronaldo hasn't gone about anything in this matter the right way - Sir Alex and everybody at United as well as the fans realise that players like Ronaldo aren't going to be content to stay in England, especially when his family's dream has been for him to play at Real.
The issue is the blatant come and get me tarty behaviour with Real and its agents, the game-playing with the club that made him the superstar he is, and his absolute lack of anything approaching respect for the manager who stood by him in every matter and the metaphorical finger he has given to Sir Alex and his team mates who have been nothing but supportive and loyal.
If he hadn't signed a new, improved contract fairly recently and United had thwarted him in any way then maybe a bit of his carrying on would be understandable. If he was around 26 then it would be more understandable.
But he has time on his side, United has done everything to help him realise his enormous talent in aiding his genuine development as a player and helped him achieve the success he has enjoyed.
I know that person in Spain or Portugal or wherever who slagged him and his family off as being low-brow was jealous, but in the context of his complete lack of class throughout this matter yes, Ronaldo does look ignorant and scummy.
He reminds me of Nicolas Anelka who likewise has little concept that being a moneyed professional footballer doesn't mean you act as if you owe absolutely nothing to anybody. Anelka and Ronaldo lack class in this respect -they look ignorant in the way they handle their relationships with their clubs. Ronaldo is worse because Anelka has never had the United experience of total support.
Sorry to say it but Ronaldo is a bit of a scumbag.
