I urge Scolari to shut up
Don't need another thread on this.
Well there probably is a need when the national coach of Portugal comes out and says our player is off to another club.
Ronaldo could end all the speculation if he wanted too.
There is already a massive thread on this, whats the point when all the others get moved or deleted.
Its kind of old news actually.
Precisely, yet he does the exact opposite in interviews I've heard and stokes it
It's extremely classless of him, and the people around him, and in this case Scolari
Our long term view of this lad is going to suffer because of all this, and its a shame because he could become a true United legend here. Sadly he's not made of the same ilk as Scholes, Giggs, Rooney etc. When do you ever see any of them showing anything other than full committment to the club?
If Ronaldo wants to play for Madrid at some point in the future, fine. But while he's here, he shouldn't utter a word, keep it to himself. He hasn't done that, and now we have this ridiculous circus around it all. If he doesn't want to be here next year, he shouldn't have signed a bloody 4 year contract should he
How old? First time ive seen these quotes.
Which part of all Ronaldo future/comments/speculation don't you understandWell there probably is a need when the national coach of Portugal comes out and says our player is off to another club.
Why get all worked up about it ? If he goes he goes if he stays he stays. He will be replaced , just like all the other great players who have come and gone before him .
No player is bigger than Manchester United

It is not that simple. He may have mentioned to the club that he wanted to leave in two season and we would still force him to sign a 4 year contract so that we can get more money when he moves. If Ronaldo wants to play for Madrid at some point in the future, fine. ExactlyI don't think its about getting worked up, its just very dissapointing to see how the player and his entourage - and the media and Madrid of course - act in these situations
The club have done right, they've come out and said he's going nowhere. That's the end of the speculation really, he's under contract, his value will deminish little having 3 years left on a contract rather than 4, for his own sake he should just come out and categorically end the speculation he's helped stoke
I don't want to see us lose our best players. But if he goes, he goes, and like you say, new players come in and represent this fine club. I just prefer that while they are at the club, they act with a tad more class and uphold the fine traditions this club has built its foundation upon
Maybe those pics of his GF have pissed him off.I think you are half right. To be fair to him he did come out and say few weeks ago that his heart was in Manchester and has said plenty of times he will stay. There is basically a new story everyday, he can not respond to all. As someone said, his godfather may well be after a few bucks himself. I doubt he was that close to him he would publicise what was said to him in private.

Yeah, increase in wages as well but also with the transfer fees. A player on last year of his contact won't fetch that much. Many a times clubs know they will have to sell the player in future but have him on longer contract to fetch more. Lot of players don't wanna act like complete cnuts and walk away for free or very less money.I've heard those words come out of his mouth ay. I've also heard words that directly contradict those statements, or keep the possibility of moving open
I think it is that simple though. No one is forced to sign a contract. If he doesn't want to play here, he can let his current one dwindle, and he'll soon get his move to the club he desires to play for if they want him. What 'forces' him to sign is that he wants much more money, and you only get that by re-committing yourself to the club.
You mean that the Portuguese are indecisive cnuts?
Now you're spinning my words
Or I could be being deliberately ambiguous.
I'll let you know in a couple of weeks.
If Ronaldo continues to entertain this bullshit and tease everyone with his silence and indifference he'll never become a United legend. He could end up being disliked if he decides to be ungrateful and walk away.
There are no footballing reasons why he would want to swap United for Madrid. It is about wanting to be a hero in Madrid and the weather. If that is what Ronaldo is really made of, if he is that shallow, then they can have him for £100m +!
I think anybody who worries about us not winning the title etc if he goes are doing the rest of the team an injustice. A decent wing replacement and a top striker with some height and presence would fill the void.

A decent wing replacement and a good striker would not fill the void in the slightest. Firstly all of our play goes through him or Rooney really. Not many players could do what he dos for us(Messi is the only one off the top of my head). Secondly I very much doubt that the two players put together would even score 42 goals.
Ronaldo may not be bigger than the team but he is big enough for us to have to be able to accept he may have some flaws.
Selling the best player in the world is senseless.
I think it's more senseless to expect Ronaldo himself to replace those 42 goals next season. Seasons like his last don't come along often. And to expect him to reproduce it once, much less for the next 3-5 years is very presumptious. If he wants to leave, we will sell him. And if so, replace him we will. United is bigger than Ronaldo. And his success is a testament to United just as United's is a testament to him. There are proper wingers that could offer a comparable impact to our squad. There aren't any as adept at scoring, but that just means the other players in the squad will have to adjust their roles. And I can think of a few players, Rooney in particular, who might benefit greatly from that change.
Ronaldo has just said that he will say something about his future in two or three days.
I think he might improve for next season, but I agree that he may struggle to score quite so many goals again. Incredible season, he could win the World Player of the Year award the next four seasons running and still not match that goal tally. Then again, he might, who knows.I think it's more senseless to expect Ronaldo himself to replace those 42 goals next season. Seasons like his last don't come along often. And to expect him to reproduce it once, much less for the next 3-5 years is very presumptious

That's fair enough, but people weren't expecting him to score any more than 30 goals this season, he does defy logic at times.
He doesn't want to leave, or at least I very much doubt he does. But if he does, then fine, sell him. What you said was that since he was toying with us fans through the media, we should sell him, basically.
Selling Ronaldo would set us back a year imo, we could recover because we always do, but I don't think it's practical to sell him yet.
He can still improve, so even if he does leave next year, we should still be able to get as much if not more money for them, he is only 23 so this will most certainly not be his best ever season.
Rooney would definitely step it up but I would rather keep the team the way it is, just with one more striker.
Ronaldo has just said that he will say something about his future in two or three days.
I don't want him to leave at all, much less now. But I think he wants to and will no later than 2010. My opinion is merely that he should be allowed to if he desires, and we would do well to go ahead and add a young winger now to give him a chance to have his bearings once Ronnie does go. Nani will prove to be a useful player, but obviously we'll need something more when the day comes. I do get annoyed with the sheer number of stories daily, some of them almost instigated by Ronnie himself. But by no means do I want him sold over it. I just wish he would show more respect to the club, and I see the reality of the situation.
