SOCCER star CRISTIANO RONALDO’s stunning girlfriend NEREIDA GALLARDO flashes off a diamond ring on her engagement finger fuelling rumours they are about to wed.

The massive sparkler caught the eye of onlookers as Nereida, 24, chatted on the phone in the street.

Manchester United ace Ronaldo has told her they will tie the knot later this year if Portugal win Euro 2008.

And The Sun told last week how Nereida had boasted to internet chat pals that she hoped to wed the 23-year-old Portuguese star. Ronaldo’s camp dismissed the claim.

But friends say Spaniard Nereida — seen in her hometown of Palma, on the holiday isle of Majorca — is already planning to move into Ronaldo’s mansion at Alderley Edge, Cheshire.

“She practically lives in England now,” said one.

“She keeps all her clothes there and talks of herself as the new VICTORIA BECKHAM with a dash of Spanish sophistication thrown in.

“Cristiano is very keen to become a father. He keeps talking about kids.
Nereida’s up for it too - what woman doesn’t want children?”

no wonder he wants to move to Madrid... he's going to marry his spanish bird?!

Ronaldo's Yoko Ono

Try this analysis...

ALL his behaviour is consistent with him wanting to stay at MUFC next season but being willing to move to RM in the future.

NOT ALL his behaviour is consistent with him wanting to move this year.

These are both true statements - which suggests the evidence is in favour of him staying.

Four years left on his contract and United not wanting to sell is evidence he's staying

The behaviour of someone who wants to stay at the club he's at is as follows: He declares he wants to stay at his current club. He hears rumours Madrid want him this summer. He declares he is flattered by the interest, and one day would like to play for that team, but that his immediate future is with United. He then makes no further comment

The behaviour of someone who wants to leave: Tell the fans on TV on the most emotional footballing night of your life you are staying. Consider this when the elation has worn off over the next few days, and decide you want to go to Madrid. Change your tune and encourage Madrid by making statements indicating you have a decision to make on your future, even though you have no decision because you're bound to a 4 year contract only renewed last season. Declare "I want to play for Madrid" when asked about the current summer transfer saga

How did you like that analysis? The actual current situation is the latter incidently

Portuguese TV claims that Fergie is in Switzerland right now and that he is going to visit Ronaldo.

Excellent.

His agent doesn't want him to move yet, his missus is about to move to Cheshire, his old dear is happy with him staying and Fergie's about to tell him the error of his ways.

That's that sorted, then.

Close the thread.

Knock knock
Ron: Who's there?
SAF: It's me. Boss
Ron: feck Off!
SAF: OK then.

I think it's more likely that he jumps from the balcony when he opens the door and notices that it is a angry old scot with a red face that had to cancel his only holiday this year.

You are completrely ignoring what he said yesterday. You obviously don't believe the report. When the Guardian, Times, Telegraph and Independent all accept it as gospel I tend to think there' something in it. Take your head out of the sand. (Actually, I'm just about to go and put my head in the sand!)

Go back & check what I wrote earlier!

1 The report says he wants to play for RM - it doesn't say when.

2 The report stresses that this can only happen if RM offer the figure we ask - and stresses the decision is ours.

3 The report stresses he would be willing to move to RM.

Let's look at these:

1 - we knew this already - no indication of when he wants to do this though - or even if he is commited to doing this in the face of other options.

2 - it's in the hands of MUFC - and the problem is what exactly?

3 - so he wouldn't object if we agreed a transfer with them - though he might if we tried to sell him to Barca or Oldham.

That's IF we think the report is genuine.

You said Ronaldo gets paid the same as Ronaldo, which is absolutely incorrect. You don't see me acting like a 14 year old highlighting in in big red letters like a chump. I've made clear precisely what I was saying, how do you justify your complete inaccuracy?

I think if Ronaldo signed a new contract last year, you don't get a pay increase every season you play well. If he has a poor season next, should we slash his wages?

I respectfully beg to differ.

And players often angle for more money, especially when they go from being one of the very best players in the world who had an excellent season to being THE VERY BEST player in the world who played a tremendous part in winning only our 3rd European Cup ever, and who surpassed what most thought was a career year last season.

Ronaldo's Yoko Ono

Well if you believe everything you read, she sounds ok. The fact she stays in england alot and the fact she's already said she doesn't mind where he plays..I don't see her as a yoko uno....if ofcourse she's telling the truth

But give her the benefit of the doubt. Why now? She might be a good influence on him.

Queiroz in Lyon link

United assistant admired by French champions

By Patrick Haond Last updated: 6th June 2008

Queiroz: Lyon interest

Lyon have revealed that Manchester United assistant manager Carlos Queiroz could replace Alain Perrin as boss at Stade Gerland.

Perrin is expected to part company with the French champions this summer and a number of managers have been linked with the job.

Claude Puel is reportedly the top target but Lille are adamant that he will not leave, while Zico has also been tipped to take the post.

Queiroz has also emerged as a surprise contender, with Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas hopeful that he may be able to tempt Sir Alex Ferguson's right-hand man away from Old Trefford.

"I have thought about him, but it seemed difficult," Aulas told France Football.

"Now, considering the confidential information I just got, everything is possible."

hmmmm

If it's fear they want, send Lady Cathy Ferguson instead, she's having her holliers ruined by this guff. She'd beat sense into him, and be back for supper.

I suggest you take time to read these wonderful examples of accuracy to see how much bullshit is printed daily -------- all of them have taken it from the same source, a guy who is noted for his Real connections, so personally I give these reports the same credence as most of the other rubbish printed.

I respectfully beg to differ.

I corrected what I typed and bizarelly, you and Feeding still felt the need to quote me on the incorrect word. It was perfectly obvious what I was saying, you both decided to act like a couple of pre-pubescents and try to highlight spelling mistakes in order to try and discredit what I'm saying, purely because you can't actually discredit me with the substance of your arguements

Players don't get new contracts at the end of every season Jason. They get new contracts when their current one if running down and the club want to protect their investment. Ronaldo's has 4 years left, this has nothing to do with new contracts

A different angle on the Ronaldo story form the University of Navarra (who've got a department who specialise in sport economics) and their newest report on the "media value" of players.

http://www.unav.es/econom/sport/index.php?section=1

The snippet you'll see quoted is:
Top 10 players by media value: 1. Cristiano Ronaldo (20.5), 2. Messi (12.3), 3. Rooney (12.3), 4. Ronaldinho (12.1), 5. Drogba (10.9), 6. Torres (9.8), 7. Kaka (9.8), 8. Beckham (9.6), 9. Gerrard (9.5), 10. Lampard (9.2)

Top teams by media value: 1. Manchester Unted (81.2), 2. FC Barcelona (80.3); 3. Chelsea (64)

Estimation of fair transfer value of top players. Cristiano Ronaldo: 83 miilions of euro; Fernando Torres (63), Kaka (60), Messi (59), Cesc (50), Ronaldinho (35)

So which team (not one of the top 3) doesn't have a top 10 star in its team? That's why they'll throw money at it.

For the hardcore addicts you can even download the updated report subtitled: Manchester United Strikes Back

So find me a definite Ronaldo quote that says he wants to move to RM this summer?

If you can't then I'm right that ALL his statements are consistent with him wantinmg to stay.

Any actual evidence (as opposed to posturing) welcomed.

I have never heard Ronnie mention Madrid, Spain yes often Madrid never.

Agent Queiroz is going there to sell us Benzema on the cheap.

All is in order then.

I'm guessing that confidential information which means "everything is possible" means they are suddenly awash with cash.

Benzema on his way out?

There has been a hell of a lot of references to puberty in this thread this afternoon. Its all pubes this and pubes that, and I have more pubes than you, and only bald-knobbed cnuts think that.

Just thought I should point that out.

Oh dear. Still head in the sand I see. When EVERY news source, including the one's I respect and read regularly, accept yesterday's report, I tend to accept it too. Although I accept there is the possibility that it is not true.
Brad's description of a player who wants to stay, and one who contemplates leaving, are right on.
I guess your opinions and our opinions are based on life experience.

 fecking hell, what kind of logic is that?!?!

Imagine if the burden of proof in the courtroom was that the defendant must declare "I murdered him" to be convicted. No one would ever be jailed! You judge someone off behaviour and evidence. Sometimes what someone doesn't say is just as condemning as what they do say. Ronaldo has kept Madrid interested, and put the ball in their court

I notice you didn't comment on my behaviour scenarios...

Pogue - you are hardcore.

This thread seems to have attracted most of the big guns; Pogue, Seagulls, Jason and Brad. It is highly amusing to read your bickering.

Anyways...

Ronaldo will be staying.

My opinion is based on:

1) Everybody, including Ronaldo know that he is at the best club to keep improving and winning trophies. You do not leave the European/domestic champions for a touch of sunshine and some extra pocket money.

2) He has not actually said anything, anything about his desire to leave us this summer. He has called Calderon's bluff, who seems hellbent on creating a circus around the Portugal camp and hindering their oppurtunities to do well in the competition, i am sure that Ronaldo is pretty annoyed at the persistency of reporters that are fuelled by Calderon's motor mouth.

3) Sir Alex Ferguson

4) The friends that he has made in Manchester would be mightily disappointed if he was attempting to take us for a ride; Fergus, Quieroz, Nani, Anderson and Rooney. You do not simply turn your back on people that have supported you through the worst moments in your career, post 2006 World Cup for instance. I stand to be corrected here.

Everybody seems to assume that Ronaldo is a cnut, i dont, he is obviously self-absorbed and egoistic but who wouldn't be with millions of women wanting to suck your cock and endless pots of money without any cocaine to spend it on?

Scolari has said he won't comment til after the Euros. If he wanted to stay then there would be nothing to comment on and it would indeed put the thing to bed if he came out and said he was staying.

Therefore i think he does want to go, but, as he says he is not going to force uniteds hand, he knows its there decision and he will only go if united can agree a fee, otherwise he will happily play on next year, and perhaps the next year until there comes a point when united do agree a fee with RM, this becoming more and more likely as the end of his contract approaches...

Ronaldo has done 1, 2 & 3 - unfortunately (and we need to note he's being pursued continuously) he doesn't do 4 - however, all his remarks are consistent with 1, 2 & 3.

Change your tune and encourage Madrid by making statements indicating you have a decision to make on your future, even though you have no decision because you're bound to a 4 year contract only renewed last season. Declare "I want to play for Madrid" when asked about the current summer transfer saga.
Ronaldo never said he had a 'decision to make' (that was the media's re-interpretation) in fact he denied he needed to make a 'decision' - instead he said he hoped to have news regarding his future. Only numpties read this as him making a decision to stay or go.

Ronaldo 'wants to play for Madrid' - I 'want to fish in NZ' - neither of us are saying we intend doing that now - or this year - it's something we would like to get round to doing. Yet you insist this means he wants to move this summer - on what basis?

That's far too reasonable. Expect a page long 'expert' analysis from Feeding for your troubles

He's said since he was young he'd like to play for RM one day - he's never ever said he wants to play for them next season - what part of this are you struggling to understand?

What evidence do you have that anything Ronaldo says refers to him moving this summer?

In contrast, we do have explicit statements from Ronaldo that he wants to stay at OT - although he can't promise (after all those money-grabbing Glazers might want to sell him on.)

Sexy French newsreader Melissa Theuriau has added her voice to those calling for Ronaldo to commit his future to Manchester United.

"Ronaldo makes me moist. I want to see him win things and, let's face it, that is more likely in Manchester than in Madrid," Theuriau said.

MelissaTheuriau.png

"Sometimes when I watch Man United I touch myself. My boyfriend supports PSG but what does he know? At least he doesnt support Madrid - surely Europe's most contemptible, self-important bunch of pricks."

Theuriau also refused to rule out a move to the North West to read the local news for Granada. "My English is quite good, and it has always been a dream of mine to live in the North of England," she said.

For the love of God, Ronaldo. Stay for her!

Ronaldo has done 1, 2 & 3 - unfortunately (and we need to note he's being pursued continuously) he doesn't do 4 - however, all his remarks are consistent with 1, 2 & 3.

Well sadly for you, 4 was crucial to that scenario, and he hasn't done it. In fact, he's commented to the contrary

On the basis that the current speculation is whether he will go to Madrid this summer, and he answers "I want to go to Madrid", but it depends on both clubs agreeing a fee

It is pretty hard to analyse what Ronaldo means considering that his English tongue is not all that, but Seagull man is correct in his method of analysis and what he is actually reading. Most other people are attempting to look between the lines and are making rather large assumptions about credibility.

Most of us have never been in this situation before - keeping or selling the best player in the world is not easy business, Ronaldo is not helping but dont throw daggers at him before he has actually said anything definitive on the situation.

Sorry, but when you are raging against someone else's inaccuracies, such an immense howler comes across as very amusing.

IMO.
