That statement basically means Fergie said, 'Ronaldo leaves this summer over my dead body'.
 
Good statement from the club, doubt it will make Real stop though..
 
Can't understand the fuss, to be honest. I'm sure Ronaldo can, and probably have been made aware of the interest through his agent. Can't really see the extra threat to his position at the club by some comments made to the press. If the player wants to leave then he can feck off, and as he's under a long term copntract Real will have to ask Juan Carlos for a hefty transfer fee. If he wants to stay then the club should know about it and let Real fill the papers with whatever fantasies they wish.

On another note, didn't we try to settle Benzema among others not so long ago? Even Palacio and that other Wigan cnut were unsettled. Pretty childish that "reporting" to FIFA imo.

Don't think you can compare those situations. Ferguson said something about Benzema when we actually played Lyon, and he haven't said anything about the guy since. Real have talked about Ronaldo every single week for almost two years.

It's not childish, it's the rules and Real are not following those rules. Also, no we didn't try to unsettle Benzema, Palacios or Valencia... there wasn't even a single statement coming from the club about how we wanted to buy said players let alone a barrage of statements from the entire fecking contingent of staff.

He had spoke many times already that he is staying.

Example : He will stay as long as SAF stays, he has no intention of leaving at the moment... too many in fact.

Ronaldo's big OT night didn't win Madrid a CL, they got knocked out by Juve. In fact Ronaldo never did win a CL with Real (or anybody else). He did win a Liga that season - the only thing he won in his 4 seasons with them.

Zidane won a CL with Real and La Liga in his 5 years. Figo won 2 Ligas and a CL in his 5 years there (same as CR has done with United!).

Galactico-land was a mess and one that Madrid have only just got over. Even Marca's readers are scared of Real buying Cristiano.

...except United put in an actual bid for Hargreaves, didn't they? (I know they did eventually since, y'know, he joined the club--but at the time, I mean.) Not to mention the fact that Hargreaves himself was openly lobbying to join United. There're similarities between the two cases, but it's a matter of degree imo.

We were interest in him but we didnt use a newspaper every feckin day to unsettled Hargo.

We were interested and told Bayern that we wanted the player, they said they didnt want to sell so we waited a whole season and asked them to let us know when he was available cause we were really interested and we put a bid for him in case they change their minds.

Just out of curiosity I counted up the number of Marca front pages http://www.marca.com/primeras/08/mayo08.html Ronaldo's had this month - 10 up to and including yesterday and that's ignoring the "Diary of Operation Cristiano" coverage on the inside pages. Last time they got this excited about him was last March :devil: Amazing really given that he:
- doesn't play in Spain
- isn't Spanish
- the Spanish team are training for the Euros

Not only does he thank us for turning Ron into a good pro and a team player he talks about the media feeding frenzy that would surround him at Madrid being far worse than he's experienced with United and how Real would have to "sort out the problem" . As if Madrid wouldn't be at the front of the exploitation crew - they broadcast Beckham's medical - they'd have Ron sliced, diced and packaged in minutes. They'd have to - to pay back the loan they'd need.

Obviously they aren't but they work undercover for Madrid. They create and start rumours that unsettle players and this is the way to push the deals.

They blame the newspapers and try to appear not guilty of any aproach but thats the only way they can show their interest and expect the player to do what they want.

They know the subject is clear and everybody knows Manchester United's point about Ronaldo.

History is littered with governments manipulating the media for their own political gain. this is similar. spain seems quite backward in alot of ways.
 
Im sorry guys but as much as a lot of people dont want to admit it Ronaldo has a lot to do with this situation, i bet he is loving all the attention.

He needs to show his hand and come out with what his intentions are boldly and clearly... it is nothing to do with keeping mute because of wanting a contract, he got one last year and could negotiate without this publicity.

I think he owes the club who pays his wages, helped his development and the players he just won a double with that much whether it is his dream to play in Spain or not.

we didnt have fergie come out and annouce everyday that we wanted to sign hargreaves and he never made comments saying he would be our player next season ..
no figures were thrown around in the media ..

there wasnt much talk of hargreaves other than when the transfer window was open ..
it was just like any transfer negotiation , which the media got a sniff of and it became a big deal because he was english

Dont forget they also pointed that no club can hold an unhappy player if that player wants a move. Obviously putting pressure on Ronaldo to go and push the deal by himself.

Real have now moved to ease the growing tension between the two clubs, but do insist that the problem lies between United and the player.
