I think Fergie is enjoying his wine at the moment. What needs to be done, has probably been done or set in motion long before this media circus. What do people expect him to do, keep paging Ronaldo ?

If he does go however, and that's a big IF, I'd take nothing less than 75m and immediately raid Valencia for David Villa and Silva. Can definitely get 40+ goals from them.

Proper quotes in Portuguese. Written by a journalist based IN MADRID.

This site now is getting tons of hits worldwide, resulting in massively boosted advertising revenue. It also gets its name out there everywhere - which is especially important in Portugal where it just may have turned itself into a port of call of Portuguese fans and those interested in South America.

In one single bit of fabricated nonsense by a journo IN MADRID, they have made themselves an international name. So-called "respected" papers in South America are nothing at all like "respected" papers in the UK. Even in Spain this is the case, as El AS is generally not known for playing games but lied their heads off about Ronaldo in 2006. It also redounds to the benefit of UK papers during a very slow summer because of the Euros to pump up Terra as the definitive source in order to sell more papers themselves as they sow doubt.

How a journo in MADRID is suddenly given more credibility than if one of their locals in Brazil had made it up is beyond me.

Last I checked MADRID was not SWITZERLAND where Portugal's training camp is, nor is it AUSTRIA or SWEDEN where the Euros will take place, nor is it MANCHESTER, the home of those who are serious insiders in the club.

It is however the home of Los Maricónes.

Nice one Jase (& Julissa?).

it was sarcasm, that article in the Independent was rubbish, I thought the rolling eyes made my sarcasm clear, maybe we need a sarcasm smiley? :D

As I said earlier jason, I tend to believe the report. As did the Times, Guardian, Telegraph and Independent.
This piece put me over the edge..........

"The words were provided on Wednesday night to Julio Filho, a Madrid-based journalist for the Brazilian website, Terra, who is known to be close to Acaz Fellegger, the agent of Portugal national manager Luis Felipe Scolari. One theory in Portugal is that Scolari encouraged their publication, in order to get the subject dealt with before Portugal's opening game in the tournament, in Geneva tomorrow. Filho, a mainstream journalist, also works for the official Uefa website. "

and he is in Switzerland right now.

This isn't just true about supporters, who live and breathe and worship their specific clubs. We sacrifice (matchgoers MUCH more so than the rest of us) untold energy and money and time supporting our club no matter what and finding out every scrap of news, watching every piece of interviews, and watching and rewatching classic and current games over and over.

Supporters who actually have a job are also worth a mention

Money can turn a few heads dont you think? we cant be sure untill Ronaldo or someone close to Ronaldo, like Mendes, confirm this.

......makes sense.........

So what happened with Scolari denying he told Ronaldo to go to Madrid? Are there more people that are going to speak?

he should take a leaf of of adebayor's book when lined to milan -

I am very happy here. Reports which suggest I have threatened to quit are rubbish," he said. "I love the club and the fans.

"We have a great set of players here with a fantastic team spirit.

"We have had a good season, but next year we want to go one better by winning a trophy."

this is why we are p*ssed off!

Agreed. And look what Wenger said about Milan. 'If they come in with any bids they will get the answer they deserve.'

if ronnie's pops were alive i wonder what he would advise him to do...

We could get it to work if RedRichio would actually link it to NewsNow and we'd delete all the silly posts(well one's that are aware it's about as real as anything in Marca)

I see he is online. Get it done, Richio!!

Don't worry Spoons, all talk about this in this thread will be buried into obscurity within minutes.

realistically , how much can we expect for him ..

i hope we get over 60
we are never getting anything close to 100m

gill will probably bend over and accept a 40m + baptista deal

All these reports that Ronaldo has banned Fergie from the training camp. You believe that? Seems extreme to me. Can't believe that after Scolari said it would be OK that Ronnie has that much power to ban Fergie from seeing him. We pay his wages ffs! And I can't imagine Fergie saying "Oh, that's allright then. I won't bother going"

He's that Arab-French bloke in Amelie isn't he? I like him. He's funny (looking as well)
He's one of the most popular comedians in France. He must be bloody rich as well.

That's all just bollocks.

Gill's a good businessman.

I'll be expecting somewhere around £60-70m all in cash, I doubt we will get any players in return no matter how much we want Casillas or Sergio Ramos.

why is it always polemic with cristiano ronaldo?

Probably because he is the best player in the world, and most people seemed to dislike him before all of this anyway.

sounds like bullshit to me.

100 million plus 3 players and 20 percent of all revenue generated by Ronaldo shirt sales, advertisements, ticket sales for 5 years. we need to rape real madrid when it comes to this deal...if they want him so bad and where willing to create propaganda storm for him well show us how much u want him by putting up with these demands

Sexy French newsreader Melissa Theuriau has added her voice to those calling for Ronaldo to commit his future to Manchester United.

"Ronaldo makes me moist. I want to see him win things and, let's face it, that is more likely in Manchester than in Madrid," Theuriau said.

"Sometimes when I watch Man United I touch myself. My boyfriend supports PSG but what does he know? At least he doesnt support Madrid - surely Europe's most contemptible, self-important bunch of pricks."

Theuriau also refused to rule out a move to the North West to read the local news for Granada. "My English is quite good, and it has always been a dream of mine to live in the North of England," she said.
i'm fecking smasbed and i found that hilarioujss :lol:

i think something in the region of 60mil is a tad more realistic

So what's the deal with today's news and gossip? - not been on or following it today. Has his mother or anyone of note come out to say anything?

Forgive me for not wanting to read back through all the posts. Somebody tell me in brief.

AF, it's now obvious that CR has really never had his heart at MU so it's time to cash in and go find some new gems. In truth CR's posturing and increasingly petulant behaviour on the field was becoming an embarrassment towards the end of the season. It is just so refreshing to see players like Tevez so new to the club yet so willing and clearly already wearing MU on their sleave. CR's real ambitions have always been outside of the UK and good luck to him as I am sure he will be a great player whereever he goes. I just hope his posturing and arrogant behaviour on the field is replaced by his undoubted abilities, because if not he may never again reach the heights he has done so far. One thing he sadly lacks is true class, that belongs to the Scholes and Giggs's of the world, true professionals who have been a credit to this beautiful game. In Tevez, Hargreaves and possibly Anderson you have found players who may just begin to live up to those names. It's time to find some more.
