All Roads Lead to Rome - ALL TRAVEL/TICKET INFO FOR FINAL HERE

By the beggining of next week they'll start giving tickets to any season ticket holder who walks through the TO doors.

whats happening with the allocation. is it slow? I thought things would be mental.

In other news, How good is this final ticket?

I have the £65 one, knowing that when were in the stadium, it wont matter where we stand/sit, and with that we have free travel for 3 days around Rome, and entry to some museum and something else.

not bad at all to be honest.

Even though i'll just be getting drunk for 90% of the time :)

Not if this alcohol ban in Rome kicks in unfortuantely.

No, we tried that this morning.

You need at least one credit at the moment.

Git through myself after a long wait but got shot down for having no credits, had some for sale at that stage so it was so frustrating so near yet so far.Time is running out for me as I fly early Monday morning ,so even I get them from the ticket office I have to find time to fly to Manchester to pick them up,tried to gain so sympathy from the guy in the ticket office with this line but to no avail.Chances are now remote in the extreme

By the way, if anyone in Rome on the Weds or Thurs morning who (a) doesn't have a ticket, or (b) has travelled by a particularly bizarre route, wants to be on BBC Breakfast News, drop me a PM.

What's everybody during the day of the final? Is there going to be a champions festival thing? Where's everybody gonna hang out? It was red square last year, can't think where in Rome it'll be. The Colosseum?

The Champions Festival things is actually at the Colosseum. thats where we are heading first......

OK lads, I've been spending every spare minute I have trying to get tickets and I've tried a lot of avenues. I thought I'd pass on my experiences, so that you don't waste your time or money.

There are tons of adverts for tickets on http://www.hallolondon.co.uk where the adverts are not very discriptive but give you basic details. Some deals look too good to be true - and they are. I have come across a 'seller' who wanted me to transfer the money into an Escrow account with the money being released on receipt. Thought this avenue was worth investigating and gave the fella basic details such as my name, e-mail address and delivery address. I get an e-mail from the supposed Escrow co which looks legit but then I opened the co's website. It was hosted by 50webs.com (Being hosted by a free-host) and the e-mail address had a different domain name. Basically a phantom company so when you thought you would be transferring the money into an Escrow co, it was lining the conman's pocket directly.

Also, a couple of mates tried to by tickets off a 'seller' from the same site. The seller requested a 'deposit' with the remainder being paid on receipt. Amazingly they paid this through Western Union (:wenger:). A package did indeed arrive, with poor quality fakes from Romania.

Haven't explored ebay as having talked to Crerand Legend, legit accounts have been hacked to take advantage of good reputations and prices are too high anyway.

If considering paying for tickets via Escrow, please be 100% confident of the legitamacy of the Escrow co. If no Escrow co. is involved and you are expecting the tickets to be delivered, forget about it. Also take into account the fact that Monday is a bank holiday, so if asking for tickets to be delivered from abroad, the package isn't guaranteed to arrive in time.

I'm only going to get tickets in the UK if I can personally pick them up, don't mind driving to John O'Groats if I have to. Otherwise I'm going to spend all Tuesday and Wed hunting for a ticket out there in Rome.

If anyone has any questions about a prospective purchase online, I'd be happy to give my input.

No it fecking wasn't! Not if you wanted a drink and a good time!

Here's a thought - if someone is on a WUM but can't get out of the newbies, talking about them gives them exactly what they want. Let's not clutter this thread please, there's useful info here for those travelling.

Im sure a lot of you are already aware of the below, and most is common sense, but guidelines below issued from the foreign office:

The Foreign Office has published a set of guidelines for Manchester United supporters travelling to Rome next week.

1. Supporters will need a passport or original photo ID to enter the Stadio Olimpico.
2. Remember to take out travel insurance.
3. Remember to get a European Health Insurance card.
4. Coins will not be allowed into the stadium.
5. Do not use the Piazzale Flaminio station or the Ponte Duca D’Aosta bridge.
6. Use free public transport provided to get to the stadium. Do not travel to the stadium on foot or by other means including taxis or other public transport.
7. Plan where you are going to watch the game if you do not have tickets because their will be no public screens. Stay away from Campo De Fiori.
8. Look out for pickpockets and thieves.

My hotel's five mins from the Colosseum so I'll be checking the festival out there first thing on Tuesday and I'm thinking of making a visit to Fergiefields in the evening. I loved Angels and Demons (the book) so plan to see St. Peter's square too. As it's unlikely I'll get a ticket before I fly out, I'm going to be hunting for tickets whilst enjoying Rome.

They issue these guidelines every time an English team plays Roma. The last few times United have been there, those have been the exact places we've ended up.

Rome is a cracking city. Been there 3 times with United already.

But if you throw coins in the Trevi Fountain on Tuesday, there's a fair chance you'll hit someone. :D

Will Fergie Fields be the best place to watch the match if you don't have a ticket? And will we be able to pay on the day?

I've given up on finding any tickets.

When are you leaving?

There aren't going to be any UEFA big screens out in Rome so I reckon Fergiefields will be the best place to watch the game.

I'm going to try and hunt a spare ticket or two there from Tuesday morning, I'm finding it impossible to get a ticket anywhere in the UK. Hoping for a ticket resale, checking the ticket homepage every hour but it's looking very unlikely, especially with the bank holiday weekend looming.
