Argh! I wish we heard something!

Seems like its stalling becuase Barca are struggling to get the dough together or haven't decided on Fabregas

Got a feeling this will drag on till after the Copa America which concludes Jluy 24th. Over a month more cock teasing for the Caf.

I fear my cock will explode :annoyed:

Yeah exactly man. Was sayin that yest - the inner-muppet in me working overtime so to speak. To me, he's chosen Barca but they're tryin to raise the cash & also see what the craic is with Fabregas situ. They're probably tryin to get rid of a few players - Villa could be one of them, then get Rossi in aswell!

This whole not-knowing shite can do your head in if you let it... frustrating all the same tho!

You'd think someone in Italy would report what the fecks goin on right now...

It'll be concluded by the end of next week I reckon. If reports are to be believed that 5 clubs have had bids accepted then it is too far along to be protracted another month. I'm sure Sanchez will want it wrapped up before then for the distraction factor.

No offence, but thats like saying we dont need Messi. U make room for a player of this quality & when he becomes available - you do all you can to get him!

Folk should be fussed. This lad is gonna be some player & we havent replaced Ronnie, regardless of how highly we rate Nani - this lad can fill those boots more than adequately. You only have to look at who's after him - that'll tell ya how highly rated he is & he's probably regarded by those teams, as their missing link (apart from Barca).

Preach on brother

People just don't realise how good Sanchez is and can become. I know anyone can look good in a Youtube comp, but they're no exagerration where this lad is concerned.

Maybe so but even then you will have an Ashley Young type situation where he's away for weeks, then he will need a vacation :(

Don't expect him to be unveiled by any club anytime soon.

Hold onto your ball bags Caf.

Can you make that picture any bigger RHD I can't see it properly.

Just saw this, was from The Sun mind, but it has quotes. Not sure how old the quotes are, could just be recycled bollocks.

BARCELONA have moved ahead of Manchester United in the race to sign £30million-rated Udinese star Alexis Sanchez.
The Spanish champions and European Cup holders are in a five-way fight to sign the Chilean winger with the Red Devils, Manchester City, Juventus and Inter Milan.

But Barca vice-president Josep Maria Bartomeu reckons his side have the edge on their fellow European heavyweights.

He said: "We are in talks for Sanchez. We know he is a player of value and for that reason there are a lot of clubs chasing him.

"We'll have to continue talking and see what happens in the next few days.

"We are optimistic, even if we are still only at the beginning.

"I can't reveal the details of the negotiations or talk about the other clubs who want him, but we are aware that we must firstly reach an agreement with Udinese and then the player."

Udinese's transfer consultant Stefano Antonelli confirmed Barca, United, City, Inter and Juve have all made bids for the 22-year-old.

But he admitted Pep Guardiola's side are favourites to seal Sanchez's signature. Antonelli said: "The offers have all come from these clubs.

"We don't want to create a bidding war, but he is the big name on the transfer market at the moment and everyone wants him.

"All the clubs we talked about have a chance of signing him, but right now my feeling is that he's more likely to go abroad.

"Barcelona's very powerful push on to the scene has changed the scenario somewhat."

Barca always act like assholes in transfer wars like this. Constant public messages from both the higher ups and the players themselves.

We on the other hand won't say a thing til it's over.

Perfect summer?

-----------Carrick/Fletcher--------------
----Giggs/Sneidjer---Modric/Anderson----
Valencia/Sanchez-------Nani/Young/Giggs
---------Sanchez/Rooney/Hernandez-----

Let's be having No 20.

Not looking good for Nani if he can only play left wing ;)

Comfortably the best wing options in the country, I even forgot Park, Welbeck and Cleverley who can all play their too.

Riduculously talented wing options, immense depth too.

Hence we dont get the players we want :p

Valencia plays most of his international football in the centre.

If Fergie would see taht he would be able to be an excellent CM, wouldnt he have tried that out yet?

I have never see him play in the centre, but when I look at the way he plays, I just cant see it

There's absolutely nothing new in that Sun story. If there'd been a similar quote from a United source, the headline would be: 'United move ahead of Barcelona etc etc'

I can't see it either, his best attributes are discipline, pace, stamina and crossing. I would suggest if we were to move him anywhere it would be most beneficial to move him to RB.

I see no merit in turning him into a Fletcher with pace. Imo if we are going to move anyone to AM it would be Nani, he has the trickery and shooting ability to make an impact there, and if played in front of two holding players such as Carrick and Fletcher, his lack of defensive work would not really expose them as much as it would a right or left back.

Manchester City coach Attilio Lombardo has indicated that work is under way to try and bring in Udinese winger Alexis Sanchez.

The Chile international is attracting interest from other European heavyweights such as Barcelona, Juventus, Inter Milan and City's local rivals Manchester United.

Udinese say five offers have been lodged and Lombardo is aware of the amount of competition City would face to secure the services of the 22-year-old.

However, Lombardo, who joined Roberto Mancini's backroom staff a year ago, is hopeful of landing a player that he believes would have a huge impact at Eastlands.

"He is an excellent player for any big club in Europe," Lombardo told Il Friuli. "This season he has often proved to be one of the best in the Italian championship.

"He is a very fast player, a great champion, with a great personality and touch of the ball.

"I repeat, it would be a major boost for any team."

Lombardo accepts that Udinese will have the final say on Sanchez's future but has made it very clear that he ranks highly on City's transfer wish list for the summer.
Fits the profile

He added: "For now he is a very valuable player for Udinese and we respect that.

"What I can say is that Manchester City are always aware of what's happening around great players and Alexis Sanchez fits the profile of football that our club is looking for.

"But in this period of the market it is also true that we talk a lot.

"Players like Sanchez are on the lists of the top teams and this is normal. As is normal in the list of City."

Lombardo could shed no light on reports that City had tabled a bid of €38million (£33.5m) for Sanchez.

He said: "It's not something I can comment on. The company is working hard on purchases, but I'm not authorised to give any details, let alone talk about figures.

"There are people in charge, working with the coaching staff. This is what I can say.

"The market is an important issue and we want a great team for next season, with great players."

Sounds like City aren't too confident of pulling off this transfer.. Although I wouldn't say we are front runners either.. He would have thought 5 times to say anything about a player who in his opinion would be United bound.. So I would think Barcelona are the front runners in this one..

Edit: Unless the City coach is a complete Idiot.. Which IMO is very likely actually..

Quality player in his day, Lombardo. Remember him at Sampdoria when he was in the form of his life, just prior to joining Juve, where in fairness he was never the same. Quite what he was doing joining Crystal Palace is beyond me.

I'd say Man City's list is numerous reams of A4, and probably also contains the name Lionel Messi. I'd pay no heed to what the Massives are at, on about, or up to. They've no history so no-one in their right mind would join them out of the clubs being mentioned

Never knew Lombardo was a coach at City. Does he sit in the dugout with the rest of the staff? Would have thought his bald head would be fairly noticable

Surely Sanchez won't be happy asking to hang around to see if Barcelona can get another player first? 'Hold on, we're not sure if we do want you yet, just wait for us to see what the situation with this other guy is and if we can't get him you will do.'

Can't see it msyelf.

There is really nothing wrong with what he said here.

Maybe that's why Ecuador are so shit.

I honestly can't see how anyone could watch Valencia bombing down the wing and think, "Oh, central midfield suits him." He hasn't got anything about him that makes you think he could play centrally in even a halfway decent side.

I'm sure its due in part to the other 10 players on the pitch. I'd be sure that Tony is their best player and maybe putting him in the middle maximises their slender chances!

So it's confirmed that we are showing interest.Just have to hope he sees sense. If not plan b if we have one

I'd say its more to do with the fact that he's surrounded by 10 average teammates, he's not exactly going to carry the entire team on his own.

And I don't see why he wouldn't be able to put a decent shift down the middle - Park seems to do it pretty well for us, and his natural position is on the wing.

His intelligence, his discipline, his passing and his stamina?
