Alexis Sanchez | Udinese: No Deal Yet

Considering not many of us actually think we need this player I'm not sure many will be that fussed if he does go elsewhere tbh

Many think that signing Sanchez, especially with Barcelona and City involved, United will show that we are still a strong club in the market, one that attracts young talents.

What about Inter? He has also said he wouldn't mind staying in Italy.

I don't think the Italian clubs will spend the cash on him. They are more likely to offer players and Udinese are apparently only interested in hard cash.

If it was about player swap and cash, Barca would have wrapped this up by now, assuming they are the preferred club.

I actually believe that his preferred club is Barca and his second choice is United. I think Barca are stumbling reaching the valuation whereas I think United are now on the money.

Barca fannying around are most likely the cause of the delay. I am sure they have one eye on Fabregas and money is going to be tight this summer for them.

I remain hopeful that Barca won't produce the cash and that the United deal will follow.

I really couldn't care less about that tbh, Hernandez shows that if your scouting system does it job properly you can get great young players for a snip of the price of the latest flavour of the month

That opinion generally seems to be from people who haven't seen him play too much I think.

My honest opinion, and if we weren't linked with him I would say the same, he has the potential to be one of the top 10, maybe top 5 players in the world.

Whether he realises that potential of course is another matter entirely, but right now as far as I am concerned, that's where he is.

Feels that way.

Regardless of that do we need him? Sanchez is not going to sort the current deficiency's in the team

I hope we offer him 40-50% more pay than Barca. They are struggling with a MASSIVE wage bill. Might swing it.

Of course he's not going to, but who's to say that we're not going to have a shift in the way we play back to 08-09 when we had a front 3 that constantly interchange positions? Sanchez AND Young would be perfect for that.

Thing is, people seem to have this impression of him that he's just a winger. He's not. He played the second half of the season for Udinese through the middle, scoring goals and setting them up for others. He was one of the best players of the season in Serie A.

If by deficiencies, you mean the central midfield, he's not the player we need, but signing Sanchez doesn't necessarily mean our spending is over. SAF moves in mysterious ways...

No and if we address that area and sign this lad then great, he does look like a top talent

I'm just saying if we dont get him then I wont be that fussed, I'd be a lot more pissed off if we dont get Modric and he moves to Chelsea

Yes he would solve some. For starters he'd certainly replace what we lost when both Tevez and Ron left leaving us with only Rooney as the super star in our fowardline.

Just because we have deficiencies elsewhere doesn't mean we shouldn't bag such a player if we can.

People do realize that we paid 17m for Jones despite not really needing him yet, right?

Surprised people don't think SAF would do the same for a player as good as Sanchez.

So much hope it seems have been lost over night.

If things do not continue, I shall sound the muppet horn here in the deep of this thread and we shall all ride one last time brothers, perhaps to our death, but certainly to glory.

For United. For our Muppets.
The Horn of Kerm f.a.pperhand will sound in the deep, one last time!

If we get Sanchez then Valencia is being converted to midfield.

You heard it here first. My muppet dream will be complete.

De Gea
Rapheal rio vidic fabio
Valencia Jones Young
Sanchez Rooney Nani

THis lineup makes no sense at all.

Not one central midfielder in central midfield!

If we buy Sanchez, why won't be buy a midfielder? We're obviously prepared to spend this summer.

From what I gathered off of the youtube videos, he has poor passing.

why do people forget that Sanchez can play through the middle?

No idea. Seems we are after versatile outfield players so far though, Sanchez and Young both play wide and through the middle, Phil Jones can play at CB or DM. Makes covering for injuries/suspensions a hell of a lot easier.

No offence, but thats like saying we dont need Messi. U make room for a player of this quality & when he becomes available - you do all you can to get him!

Folk should be fussed. This lad is gonna be some player & we havent replaced Ronnie, regardless of how highly we rate Nani - this lad can fill those boots more than adequately. You only have to look at who's after him - that'll tell ya how highly rated he is & he's probably regarded by those teams, as their missing link (apart from Barca).
