The pure essence of this thread, caught in one picture
According to this (via Google translate) negotiations have been postponed until next week with Barca having the advantage:
ESCLUSIVA TMW - Udinese, rimandata la cessione di Sanchez - TUTTO MERCATO WEB
Why on Earth would we sign Ashley Young and then Sanchez?! We need a midfielder, not another bloody winger.
The world has gone crazy!

Good point! That hasnt been mentioned...
...in atleast 15 minutes :-)
What am I supposed to do, trawl through 1,000,000+ posts to find out if that has been posted or not? I don't do transfer muppetry.
Then you're in the wrong thread
But you thought that Sanchez being a winger and the fact that we have quite a few wingers was a brilliant piece of new insight that no one had thought of over the course of 87 pages? What am I supposed to do, trawl through 1,000,000+ posts to find out if that has been posted or not? Thanks for the answer MiamiSpartan
I have to be honest, I know nothing of this player.
Many people feel that he is one of those rare players that you don't pass up if you have the opportunity, regardless of what else the squad currently has at his position.

Nani to Inter as a makeweight for the Sneijder deal while Modric ends up at Chelsea..?The counter-point would be that we are almost guaranteed to sign Ashley Young in a few days time, a player whose role in the squad will be IDENTICAL to what Sanchez's would be. It's not like we're signing Young on a free, we're spending decent money and wages to get him. It just defies logic that we'd spend almost 50m to sign two very similar players to fill a hole that isn't there (yet).

I'm not sure if Sanchez is what we need.
He's quite spectacular but how good is his end product? And how much do he contribute in the defense?
He got a hefty price tag and we still need improvements in the middle of the park. It's difficult to criticize our transfer strategy when we are so successful but, as many posters before me have pointed out, we are quite stocked in the offensive department. Is Sanchez really better then Nani and TonyV ?
For me Young is a safer and cheaper option.
At the moment I'm more excited about Varane. His arrival can be far more important in the long run. If we loose Carrick by injury we don't have a natural back up and I think therefore Varane or Jones can be more vital to our squad then a very expensive high profile star who plays in a area where we already have 3 world class players.
Maybe I got this wrong...
Just seems like the papers talking up a battle between City, United and Barca for the sake or paper sales or web clicks. I don't see us getting Sanchez one bit. Will be lots of people crying this summer IMO.
I'd rather we take Young at half his price and save the cash for a CM. Young is PROVEN remember, Sanchez so far is not.
Quote from Scholesey on his FB thing
'As a fan now, just like my son is, we're hoping to buy the best players in the world & that they make us even stronger for next year'
That's Paul Scholes officially a transfer muppet
Nothing wrong about minimizing the risks but for people who actually follow the Serie A ( As bad as it is ) Sanchez is a very good player and for me is definitely worth the risk.
Have a look all the players have one, must be a marketing thing - here's the link to the article anywayYeah, I'm sure Paul Scholes has facebook.
