Won't happen.

We should have made a move last Summer. This Summer his price is through the roof.

Between Inter & City according to.. basically every ITK on twitter.

Well the latest rumours on the internet is that Inter have nto made any offer yet for Sanchez and Pozzo is pissed off with City for wasting his time when he flew over last week to get a deal sorted and they offered nothing new.

Hearing a lot of rumours about him to Juve. That would make me happy as he'll stay away from City.

We've been linked with him for nearly 4 years - and in this time I think he's gone on record as being a fan of United and more than one scout has been seen at the stadium - and he's been known as an exciting talent ever since he first signed for Udinese so presumably we have had a chat about him with the president now and again.

These are the same rumours that are saying they have offered €35 million and they will let Udinese keep him through the qualifying for the champions league. Which would be counter productive for Sanchez himself an Udinese, go to a team thats not even in Europe as opposed to staying for another year with the team he's settled in that are playing in the champions league for Sanchez, Loose your best player and give him to a rival team for your position in the league and risk not reaching the latter stages of the competition for Udinese.

We did. We got told no.

Pfffffffft. I don't care anyway, we iz sighnin Yung innit.

Am I right in thinking this was the player Fergie said they following and contemplating a move for "at right time" a while ago?

"We have looked at Sanchez and he has impressed us," said Ferguson. "As have other players.

"He has had very good games and is an interesting project.

"We have gathered some background, as with other footballers at his level, but nothing more than this - for the moment."

Interview from around September, 2010.

I'm of the same opinion. He was very good at the World Cup and you could see the ability and talent were there, after this season with Udinese he is out of reach.

I don't think we'll go for him. Nice skillful technical player - but I just don't see this one happening.

Morrati (Inter) doesn't agree with Udinese's valuation.

It's not as if we need him badly either. Would be much better to buy a replacement for Scholes.

Not really, since almost every journo around is on it. A few of them do know what they're on about. It has it's muppet stories all the time, but by the same token, every major story breaks there first before it's reported in the press.

In general though the thing generates more bullshit than enough, and gathers enough momentum to make it seem legit.

I feel you king.

Morrati (Inter) doesn't agree with Udinese's valuation.

This may turn out to be the stumbling block for all but City, the Udinese chairman is in extortion mode at this point.

If we're interested I reckon we'll get him for 32 with some extra payments. I thought De Gea would cost more then the reported 18 million so that leaves us imo with about 30m for a central midfielder. Right now is where we differ from Arsenal. We breed talent, but we also know when and where we need to bring in established experienced talent.

Even if we don't go for him, I expect us to spend atleast 50m in transfers this season.

What, you guys think the Chilean wine sponsor, and the visit from the Chilean miners was random?
Think again. Nothing is random when Fergie is concerned...

Quick look shows the wine sponsorship announcement happened around the time that this happened:

We did. We got told no.

And the miners' visit happened just before the Jan. transfer window, during which we allegedly went for a "big" player whose club was not prepared to let him go.

Nice observation. Time will tell and all that.

So then no specific "50M" buy out clause or something along those lines?

Bummer. That certainly puts City/Barca/Chelsea/Inter and Madrid ahead of us in the Q (not all of them will be interested in him, mind).

No I don't think so. Pozzo made rumblings earlier in the season about him being worht 30 - 35 million which the rumour is the clubs are willing to meet ) so now he's hoping for a bidding war which he'll either get it or have it back fire in his face once Sanchez declares his love for all things United at the copa america and declare us the only team he wants to play for, making those euro numbers tumble. Inter don't agree on the price. All this Inter in for Sanchez thing is taken from a bigger context were Morrati said they were following and have talked to Udinese about what was happening with Sanchez but they believe he is overpriced and have made no bid. So it's is for me still between us and City (and Pozzo is supposedly really pissed of with City) if we are in for him at all, remember this is all media speculation.

I love the evolution of these rumours, this morning it was £15 million and a player.

Hope it goes through. Would rather him staying in Italy than going to one of our rivals. Hopefully this leaves way for Sneijder's exit.

Pozzo on the Inter speculation.
There has been mo meeting with Moratti for Sanchez. There have just been normal discussions with Inter, but no bid from them. It’s clear that the player can’t ignore the interest in him from the top clubs, but our priority is to keep him. It is clear that we will sell some players, but we will keep things to a minimum in the interests of continuity.

I've followed this transfer spec closely and am told by family that in Chile its believed that now that Udinese made the Champions League they will only sell for over 30-35mil. They don't want him to go but will allow him to leave only for stupid money so they can buy replacements. Apparently we tried to give them Macheda plus cash but that was just laughed at.. They obviously know how shit he is..
