Alexis Sanchez | Udinese: No Deal Yet

Widespread reports in Spain claim Barcelona are set to finalise a deal to sign Udinese star Alexis Sanchez.

The 22-year-old winger has been linked with a host of Europe's top clubs this summer.

Manchester City have lodged a substantial bid for the Chile international, while Inter Milan and Juventus have also been in talks with Udinese.

But earlier this week Sanchez rejected a move to City and his agents are now thought to be in Spain, negotiating terms over a five-year deal with Barca.

Reports claim the Spanish and European champions are willing to offer Udinese a fee of around €25million (£22.3m) plus 23-year-old winger Jeffren Suarez to secure the services of the in-demand Sanchez.
Inter was it?

feck off Barcelona. They should be imposed a transfer ban or something so that they don't strengthen their team more.

If that goes through the best are getting better and at a decent price.

It's not anything new to be truthful, this story has been cycling around now for the past month, it goes City, then Inter, then Barca. I expect another month of it.

Pedro is an academy product whom are always favoured at Barcelona.

He was signed at the age of 17, not really an academy product. Bojan, an actual academy product, hasn't been favoured much...

We'll see. I think Sanchez would get chances at Barcelona. But Afellay must be in despair...

What was he thinking when he went there in January? That he was going to be a starter? It is only going to get worse next season. I won't be surprised if he leaves this summer.

United seem to be the weakest 'big' team in the transfer Market to me. Why is there no chance for us with these players, aguero etc. Frustrating.

Simple, don't have the money to buy one player in excess of £30m. After Berba i can only assume the club have made decision not to pay big fees on one player but to concentrate on young emerging players.

Sanchez and Aguero aren't players that we really must have. We're strong on the wings and with strikers. Not much point spending that much for a bench player.

He was thinking.....Let me go make a good wedge at the best footballing club on the planet, in the greatest footballing side ever, and play in CL semi finals, contriubuting in a major match against madrid, and winning la liga and CL medals in the process.

What? Why wouldn't we want a exceptional young prospect like Sanchez or Aguero?
We don't need them. So why would we shell out stupid money for them? They are also unproven in the PL.

Notwithstanding that they might have no interest in playing the PL, might be after extortionate wages, may be set on joining someone else, etc, etc, etc.

Are you saying we should be after every half decent player just because they might happen to be after a move?

There's a difference between being weak in the market, and not being willing to spend ridiculous amounts on one player.

Obviously, when you bring all of them factors into the equation then there is no need to have interest in players like that.

But when a player of the quality of Sanchez and Aguero are looking a move, regardless of how much they are needed at the team, we should always be interested in acquiring them if they are available at a decent price that is. So you're saying that you can't see how we could utilise these 2 players in our team?

I agree that there is no need to spend a ridiculous amount of money on players who don't fit the bill of our priorities in the transfer market, but if they are available at a reasonable price, then yeah, we should definitely be sticking a bid in.

This all really depends on how much our transfer budget actually is this summer.

Although we could do with another winger (left sided) we don't need one.

What we need are a GK and 2 central midfield players (one AM).

If we break the bank it will be for one of these central midfield players:-

Pastore (don't see it happening)
Schneijder (don't see it happening)
Modric (don't see it happening)
Nasri (not this year!)
Fabregas (don't see it happening)
Gourcuff (dont see it happening)

Not sure who that leaves who is quality - unless SAF has a very young player from nowhere who can step in and step up!

Pato Rodriguez probably.

I don't believe the Barca story.

Even we were reported to be close to signing Sanchez recently.

So why believe just the Barca story?

There's no way Sanchez would be on our bench.

Who's he going to put on the bench? Valencia, Park, and Nani will be very hard to displace. He wouldn't be a guaranteed starter with those wingers, especially in big games.

Any of them. Have you not seen him play before? He'd be in our team more often than not. He could play behind a front man or even up front. He is a class little player.

He looks better than all our midfielders, he would steal the show there for us and we all know it. Come on united release the purse strings for these players we need them.

The wings and support striker aren't really priority areas as we have enough there to get by. As the CL final showed CM is the really priority and i'd rather see us splash 20m+ there if thats the figure we're looking at.

Man United beat Barcelona to sign winger Alexis Sanchez
From the People, can't post the full article as there's something up with web page (theirs).

There's actually nothing in that story

MANCHESTER UNITED and Barcelona are going head-to-head for Chilean wing wizard Alexis Sanchez.

Sir Alex Ferguson is desperate to score a victory against the Spanish giants after losing the Champions League final.

And the United boss plans to win a £25million signing war for Sanchez, 22, who has told his Italian club Udinese that he wants to leave.

The South American star – one of the best players in Serie A – is already the subject of an offer from Barcelona. His agents and Udinese’s president Gino Pozzo met in Spain yesterday to discuss a deal.
